Green--Yep. Isn't it funny that our names are so similar? I always perk up when someone says "Green" but then I realize they are talking to you!

Zeph--Happy dreams!!

Hi there!

I came home to bring Emily to the doctor, just to be sure her cough/cold was only that.  And it was.  My kids just don't get sick that often - wasn't sure if I was doing the right things.  They recommended a super expensive cough suppresant - but it's supposed to last 12 hours.

Outta - I will be there Sunday.  If not me, then Dad - but I wouldn't miss it!  I'll have this year's buttons and what I have left over from previous years.  The 04's are gone :(.

I also have 2 HUGE bags of aluminum cans for your daughter.  Tried to egram you some time ago about that, then found out your egram thingy wasn't working.  Let me know (again) where to bring those, and then I'll have room for more in my van.

I can't believe how much there was to slog through just now. Of course, a lot of the posts were a bit longer than usual and all of the sentiments shared have truly made my day. It's just so nice to be part of a group of people that loves each other so much. We are serious saps!

I have to say too that this is by far the best hunt i've ever had and I'm so glad to have met so many more of you this year. I can't wait for my 1st mock hunt in march!

Cool...I'll be at the RHB and I can pick up the cans from you. I'll have my van so I'll have room to take them. Also I'll bring an extra plastic bag for any cans that are there at the RHB. Save me your aluminum cans!!!

'Team...  I always have done double takes at your name, wondering, "When the hell did I post *THAT*?!"

Bock a long, long, long time ago...  I thought sumbuddy was trying to ride my coat tails...  But I realized [finally] that no sensible, sane person would ever do that!  And I thought you were trying to trick folks into thinking you were me...  Again...  Nobuddy in their right mind would ever want to do that!  :D  LOL!!!

It's our name, so what can I say? It's also my favorite color!

I don't think anyone could mistake me or someone else for you! Even if they tried, they couldn't write or spell like you! LOL!

Ittiz my fav colour, too.  And I always wear green.  Always.  And I surround myself in green.  My cave here's got Shrek stuff all over it, a green radio.  My purse is green.

There's only one colour in the world:  green

Except during the med hunt, when everything is usually white and brown!

I agree, green is the happiest color. You know, trees, grass, moss, flower leaves, salads, mint chocolate chip ice cream, lakes, well-painted homes, etc. etc.

Well, even though I didn't get to do it in the park as much as I would've liked, I think I'm going to go out and push some of the slush around and off of my walk before I have to go pick up the other two urchins!  It's absolutely GORGEOUS outside - hope it holds til Sunday.

V-Rex -- are you going to be able to make it on Sunday?

Downtown Dave

Florence Courts Apartments, University and 10th, SE Minneapolis, Next to Sanford Hall.  That's where Slater lived in the movie.

THX--you need to turn the music up progressively loud on these Oscar speeches, for effect.

Well, so much for that!  The whole west side of the house is still frozen solid.  Not gonna fight it when it'll probably go on its own in the next day or so.  Guess I have to clean up the *inside* of the house.

Just to confirm things, the Mock Hunt (originally named because it came between the Medallion Hunt and Bock Hunt) will start on Sunday, March 6th with the first clue being given out at 6pm. Traditionally we get together that day for a first clue release party. Fabulous Fern's has always kind of been the headquarters for this event. Since it seems we may have a bigger crowd this year, I may check into reserving the back area of the dining room instead of trying to get enough space in the bar.

I actually went out to the park today to scout things out and it looks like everything is going to work quite well. Many of you have heard me say this year should be an interesting hunt and I'm still sticking to that. I'll give you three hints to noodle from the start:

1. The Mock Hunt typically identifies what seemed like a bad aspect of that year's Medallion Hunt and tries to do the opposite.

2. You will almost certainly need a Treasure Hunter's Guide.

3. I believe this year, moseso than any previous year, the winner will be the person that figures out the clues first/the best.

I don't know what the prize will be yet. I don't have a sponsor and I don't have much money myself, so it will likely be a far cry from $10,000. However, if anyone wants to contribute money to the prize pot to make it more interesting, that's always appreciated. But I think this year, rather than hoping a few people will chip in big amounts, I think I'm going to recommend everyone just chip in $10. If you can't afford $10, you won't be barred by any means, but I'm going to work on a special prize to give to someone if they win and they contributed (sort of like buying a button).

Clues will be posted online everyday at 6pm. They will be posted in my Yahoo group as well as The People's Forum. The first clue may be an exception as it may have to wait to be posted online until after the kickoff party is wrapped up. The clues will come out once a day with 12 clues in all. I will be hiding a casino coin this year from an out of state casino. So the clues this year might have a sort of gambling theme. It won't be hidden in a tree, underground, on top of a building, on a cliff, next to open water, inside anything electrical, or any other place that would involve destruction or risk risk to get to.

I think that pretty well sums up everything for now. I hope everyone gets a chance to participate!

hey everybody!!! I got tonight's clue early!!!!!

A path fit for hikes between Upper and Pike’s
Leads past a grove with a giant beheaded
Beneath branch debris near this once-mammoth tree
The magical booty is embedded
