The Minor Leagues.....

Do you need to practice in the off-season??
Mock hunts not enough?

I'm going down to the minors (small-town hunts).

The next main hunt that I know of.....

http://www.ci.oakdale.mn.us/Summerfest.htm  - starts June 20th -clues at 9am - 651-734-2615 (northdale park last year)

http://www.kaposiadays.com/index.html - starts on June 20th

  • Today's your lucky day!
North Saint Paul Snow Frolics is under way!
Hidden somewhere in this North Saint Paul town
Is a small metal snowman just waiting to be found.

So look on an astrological chart
Or put a map on the wall and throw a dart.
No matter what you do to begin your look,
Remember it's only land that is public that it can be took.
So grab your moon boots, your coat, and your hat -
It's cold where you find this medallion at!

that would seen kinda easy though, if they threw the park name out there on number 1..

then again, I dont really know much about this hunt, in the past.... have the clues been real good in previous years??

i like how the smaller hunts can be referred as "minor leagues"..... its the truth, though, really.

Its is weird if it is that easy......but then again....
I'd be breaking my new rule....think simple...

I figure I'm going to try to do a bunch of minor league hunts this year.....my hope is go get one under my belt....I don't care about the $$ at all.....

So whats the prize for this one?? Is there a button to register?

Mon, 02/07/2005 - 8:44 AM Permalink
KITCH

$250...$500 if you have a button...but I'm not sure yet if you need to registor it...

Liquor Lady

Where do I get a button? I go into north st paul everyday when I do the deposit for work, I can pick one up today.

The medallion will be hidden on public land within the boundaries of North St. Paul. All are invited to join in on the search. This event is sponsored by local businesses. If you have a Snow Frolics Button, it increases the amount of the Grand Prize from $250 in medallion dollars to $500 in medallion dollars good at local participating businesses.

Polar park was my first guess

But seems to be a lot of astrological references that I can't find anything to work with it

Mon, 02/07/2005 - 9:46 AM Permalink

Yeah, I've been looking for that too, havn't found anything either.

If it is POLAR...I better get my butt out there and look tonite...its not that big.

you can fit Polar into the astrological stuff, it's really not a strech.

Nice list of parks Kitch, I found the same one, but it wasn't too easy, North St. Paul's official park and rec site sucks, doesn't list much of anything.

Mon, 02/07/2005 - 11:52 AM Permalink
KC0GRN

i.e. "polaris" the north star.

My guess is it's there, wish I had the history on this hunt, would be nice to know what parks it's been at. I don't have a button... but I'll go check it out after work tonight.

KITCH

Who needs a button.....I'm not turning it in....

well...maybe I will $500 would be fun at a bar.

We can keep it and put it in the Cooler Crew hall of fame museum.

Clue Master

Let's do it!

Never think into these city hunts - they want it found.  They don't sell more of anything if it goes longer anyway.  It's already been sponsored.

Dang.. first clue is certainly pointing that park out, I can't imagine they'd throw people for a loop on it, but I was all over the place there, Kitch too, and nothing..

Yup, if it's there it's in the snow, or a lot smaller than I thought it'd be..

If I were to look for a treasure in NSP the first place I'd look is around that cannon off of Margaret and 36.  No particular reason.  Just seems like a good place to hide something.  :)

Kitch, might not be polar park afterall. I just looked at a map of Northwood park. Eastern Street bordering the park is "Polaris"

Rain does not fall in this clue number two,
More typical then not, the substance is frozen blue.
It has to start from somewhere before it is brought to you.
But if youÕre ice-skating, you still donÕt have a clue

Somewhere in the public domain
A snowman lays suspended as part of this game.
We hope that you find it before you are through,
Because we would hate it if you were frozen too!

Since I have to go out I might as well take a drive to NSP and give a look around

I'd suggest "northwood park" ...should take about an hour to search.
