If you are in contact with those Cooler Crew members who have left the board after the hunt, please email them and let them know about this vote!!!!! We want to contact as many people as possible to submit their ideas and be able to vote!!!

logos are cool
cooler crew apparel is cool, as long as its useful to the hunt. capes, tights, pirate costumes, and the like, imho, are not, largely because they are not really what this group of people is about. on the other hand, red bear has the perfect name for such a group of people which he abandoned when he came over here :) not saying people can't hunt in such attire, just don't do it in the name of the cooler.
handing out candy is not, even if its in the parade. the liability is way too big a deal, and i imagine we wouldn't want to pay the insurance premiums to cover that. handing anything out for that matter may be iffy.
as for the vulc:
 i got the chance to spend a fair amount of time with them on no fewer than three occasions this year. once at their knighting ceremony, once at the boreas knighting, and then right before the torchlight parade when i hooked zephy up to the fire truck. and i have to say that their conduct can only be described as impeccable on all three occasions. if the allegations are true, then he absolutely needs to face the music on them so to speak, i just see way too many inconsistencies in the story that's been presented to the public
imho, the manager who directed the women to allow this to happen should be disciplined as well

d00d - i havent seen you pick up a shovel since Merriam! so if you are worried about being associated with people who have a little flair or want to be a little more carnival like I apologize and could actually bring the banter elsewhere as well!

lol. actually i didn't get a chance to hunt merriam, randy. although i was out working my ass off in como and phalen. no admittedly, i managed about three hours of hunting this year, but you may have noticed this.
also, i didn't mean to imply that you ought to take up and leave.

I'm willing to bet that more people ask AW about the coolercrew then  97% of us. If you put out a fun image nothing is wrong with that!!!!! Its a part of us....heck I smile everytime I see "G's hat"!!!!!

I think what you all did for ZEPH was awesome!! It truly is!! I cried tears of joy seeing all the pics and tears of sorrow thinking of what what he is going thru and how much it means to his family what was done......
I know jason hunts and I should have never said what I did ! I didnt mean it to get into a flame war or a pissing contest - many people are excited to do something fun and exciting with hand outs - costumes or what not...and it probably was all brought on by what you 2 did for zeph and his family.....

 i think i explained my logic in my previous post. nothing at all wrong with fun. i just don't want to see it taken to a point where the good press we've received turns into bad press. given what i'd read in the other thread, i was really worried that it could get to that point.
I just don't see how one person can say if we can do something in the name of the crew or not, I think the costumes are a fun idea and as long as most people are not upset about it then we should do it. And if the people that are doing it are cooler crew members, then they are cooler crew members. It's certainly not going to be everyone in the cooler crew, but the ones that do dress up don't need to hide they are associated with us.
Press? Who cares about Press? That's nice and dandy that we got some this year but I could care less if the press knows who we are or reports what we are doing, that's just my opinion on the matter.

I want the Cooler Crew to be apart of the Winter Carnival as a positive influence!

Ok I don't want negative press obviously but I think if people dress up in funny costumes it isn't going to hurt us.
I think that the main goal of everything that everyone has been discussing (aside from should they wear or not wear CC thongs) is that they want to be a positive influence, and have a good time, be kid friendly, but become more visible so that we can attract more hunters!!

Believe me, I look at me every day. That's not an image that you want, especially given the great work that we ALL did (including Treasure Chest) to get good exposure with the Zephy project - and with what Me2 did with including the finders in our weekend activities. Me in tights quickly ruins all of that.

From what I can tell (and this is just me) a few people on that list that have shown interest in "other ideas" infact are some very serious hunters and have even gone out of their way to bring good press to the Crew.
I think that should be considered when we talk about this stuff.
Yes, we are all still on a high after this year, and we are still full of energy with all that has happend. This is what drives the crew to do bigger and better things.
I think everyone needs to take a breath and remember that we are all still Cooler Crew..... regardless. We all have diffrent ideas and talents to give to the crew.
We all need to have respect for those peoples ideas and talents no matter what the Crew as a wholedecides.
