Nice bbq pix Z-man!
Grab your hotdogs and marshmallows and head over to 494 by the mall if ya wanna cook over a real ol' fashioned city fire. There wasn't even a rescue squad there yet. Plenty of time but traffic might be a bitch.
I'd go back but I locked my damn keys in the car. Luckily I have triple coverage. I'm thinking on calling all 3 and seeing which one gives me the quickest arrival time.
what the hell starts a carfire?
oh sorry to hear about your keys - chalk it up to sh!t happens :frown: and at least you're not in a hurry to be anywhere
I suspect it's the heat out, cars are spontaneously combusting. (Seriously I'm not sure, gas line has a leak near the engine perhaps? beyond that, once you get a fire started in an engine, it's pretty hard to put out)
Not sure what causes a car fire just assuming it has something to do with either leaking oil or gas. Maybe an electrical issue as well. I know that's what started my last car to smoke up a storm when my receiver fuse block shorted out.
the first thing I did was open the hood (was told I got lucky)...and was lucky I had a hammer in my truck...I then hammered the battery cable free....
I was then able to put out the fire with a blanket... but by then my truck was already a total mess with melted wires...
Thank god I was good friend with the "demo boys" I traded my truck for another hunk of junk.
Most car fires, I have heard, start from electrical problems... they over heat and combust...
Now I am depressed and want my Camaro back :frown: Thanks guys...
But it can't hold a candle to my Geo Prizm... :eyeroll:
The insurance company paid to fix it and about 3 weeks later, it was good as new.

I nailed a curb pretty bad at Phalen (that was right before I left...) tire went flat... had to borrow someones jack... fun night... my spare was flat.. AND I didnt find the medallion...
