1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

MikeVig - So if they hide the medallion at Como that would make them an econoclast, or if you looked there then you would be an econoclast, what do you think?

Hey I probly am wrong however don't you think that it is possible for it NOT to be at Conway?? I've been there last night and no place to even dig the sifter thing

would be the only way to gat anything done. Besides I don't think it is under snow were if I knew it would be in my hands but just a theory.

The reason i'm not digging is because I have a NASTY cold from spending all of my time at

Conway for the past 4 days. I wish the damn thing would be

found already!!

Folks,

Clue #10 says:

Clue No. 10: What's in a name is today's little game As a pointer it could be unsurpassed Two men share it one and the same A crooner goes first and a funny man

last So two men share it (Conway Twitty = Tim Conway) and the crooner (Twitty) has it first and the comedian (Tim) has it last. Websters defines a crooner as one

who sings popular songs. Twitty is a popular country singer. The last time I checked Crosby is not equal to Cosby, and they both are LAST NAMES!

It all fits to Crosby.

I was just thinking its somewhere other than Conway- I mean, i was the 1st too say it was at Conway, but looking at how dug up it was, Im not sure anymore.

Conway park's ice rinks are NOT the same size! All you idiots who wrecked the baseball parks had better plan on spending some time this spring replanting the

grass.

Any thoughts on where it might be at Conway. My boys have been digging since 6:oo and just called at a total loss. I think most people have no idea what the last

clue really meant.

Has anyone come up with two places of equal size for Conway. The rinks are all different sizes. You can't see anything from the tennis courts. And as far as the rest

of the park it looks like it has been militarily carpet bombed. Any Ideas..?

Hey, Gratnt-

Really you all don't know that it's at Conway. They already told us that!! COme on - get with the clues

I went digging at Conway, and I'm sure by now the medallion's been dug up and thrown by accident into another snow pile or something. But All signs point to

Conway....and the ice rinks ARE practically the same size. But really people, don't ruin the softball and baseball fields! I'm going to be playing on them, come

spring...and I don't want to have to play on some trashed up field just cuz of this medallion..

First -- The names have to be a first name for the crooner and a last name for the funny guy. Crosby would both be last names.

second -- It doesn't have to be something actually frozen at Conway. As others have suggested and may well fit, The Poles (North&South) are frozen places.

Therefore you may need to find two identical poles on North, one South to find the prize.

Rock- the site is here: metrosupersaver

Now can you tell me ( i dont care if in email) how the 954 fits? Thanx

Randi, then your crooner's first name would have to be Crosby. Bing Crosby doesn't fit.

Ain't Talkin B…

You people are simpletons to (even in lieu of the clues) think they would put the Medallion in an undisturbed nature area like Crosby Park which lacks any

landmarks. i would suggest you all climb the highest trees at Crosby and search all the squirrel's nests.

Conway Everyone is going off of the crooner the ORIGINAL crooner is (was) Bing Crosby After the previous clues there not going to make it as easy as conway

they want you to think and really think hard

Idea for clue # 11: this was posted earlier. I haven't been out there yet, so I don't know if it's right. Judge for yourselves. Frozen places maybe meaning places on the

globe, as in north and south poles. possibly two poles of equal size? Lampposts or something? Also, anyone have that number to call if it's been found? I called the

number listed on top, but it's the wrong one.

Randi -- tell me who the funny guy is with the last name bing perhaps. Since its the first name of the crooner that is identical to the last name of a funny guy.

Ok...I'm thinking as I go here but, what if Conway was being used only as a vantage point, leading to a valuable sign, perhaps even a sign with a pointer that leads to

the medallion? Yet another thought!
