It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

I WAS JUST INFORMED BY MY BETTER HALF THAT I AM NOT GOING HUNTING TONIGHT, I AM GOING GROCERY SHOPPING. SOUNDS
LIKE THE FAMILY HAS HAD IT WITH BEING NEGLECTED. THINK?
Locomotive Six Let's be real with ourselves.Time will tell, but eneregy and intuition will prevail. The next 30 hours will be the best for one lucky person! See yall at
Hi all, I've been at school since 6:45 and have missed out on a lot. What was someone saying about the 2 poles before? North and south? What does that mean?
maybe the medallion has been found and the person who found it will turn it in the last day of the contest. i think that would be funny if that happened.
Beleive me, if I find it and you are there, you'll know! I couldn't spend so much time and energy looking for something and when I find it not just have a fit. In fact I'll
probably have a heart attack. If so, give the 10G's to Alison Wonderland, since he's been the main man with the master plan!
Conway is completely dug up!! We could all be wrong! What if Datons Bluff is right (it is on Conway and Wilson) I was there at noon and noone was there! The
biggest prise in carnival history and it could go unclaimed -- think about it.
Puss - They were saying it used to be called Conway Heights Park, so it is a park. If you look up Linwood in the phone book it is a rec center, but on the map it is a
Sources say HUNDREDS of people at Conway right now, all during the day. What fun! If you don't think it's there, I think you're pretty funny. Not stupid. But you
make me laugh- mostly because it would be so funny if we were all wrong and YOU were the only one right!
First off, Conway is still listed as both a park and a rec center. Any place that has 23 acres plus fields, and rinks, and fountains, etc. is technically a part.
Daytons Bluff however is not a park. It is a rec center. It is a rec center with ball fields and the likes. Besides, it is on Conway and Euclid, crossed by Maple, not
There is no doubt about Conway. And since I'm too tired to go look anymore, and my compatriots haven't had success, I'll tell you why.
Clue #1 Just launching the hunt with a special warning to not dig up golf courses. This does not mean that the park does or does not have a golf course.
Clue #2 Downhill flying that is quite a thrill is sledding which is done at Conway on the far east end where the hill slopes down toward Howard St.
Clue #3 Numbers keep score means 20 and adorn the front door refers to an address. Conway is on the 2020 block. The 9-5-4 refers to I-94 and 5 (Minnehaha
Ave.) Conway is the only park between those two on the 2020 block.
Clue #4 For those who have studied past hunts, they will find something new this year as the medallion is in a new location. You may have to be an iconoclast though
to believe it would be at a rec center. Also a possible reference to the cross shapes of the utility poles.
Clue #5 A place where you can fill your yearning for learning is the library on the grounds of Conway, very near to where the treasure is.
Clue #6 A man of fame with a useful name (many disagree with me here) Henry Hudson as a Hudson Guide is very useful to hunters and Old Hudson Rd. is just one
block south of the park. Other believe it refers to Babe Ruth and Ruth St.
Clue #7 A clue with a double meaning. Trees in a line would be a wood row. If you take the name Woodrow, then the name Wilson appears and Conway is on
Wilson Ave. Also, a line of trees (slang for utility poles) leads down Pederson St. where you can see a True Value Hardware sign.
Clue #8 Round and white and stretched quite tight is apparently referring to what the treasure is hidden in, anything from a softball, to a water balloon, to an
embroidery hoop. At this point odds are on something very small. The translucent peak is most likely the tower on the rec center, but its possible it may be one of
the two peaks on SunRay. Both are visible from near the utility poles.
Clue #9 Water on high is the water tower on the corner of McKnight and Wilson, visible from the hiding place. The large red object in the sky is most likely the 3M
sign (though believe it or not, I was able to see the 1 from the First National Bank downtown this morning from near one of the utility poles!).
Clue #10 Conway Twitty and Tim Conway. Enough said.
Clue #11 Two frozen places that are equal in size would be the North and South Poles which are both but a single point and definitely frozen. The utility poles run
north and south (hence north and south poles). The clue also mentions searching aMID the snow and ice. The utility poles are in the middle section of the park.
Its possible the medallion has been the victim of incompetent diggers, or befell some other bizarre fate, but I challenge anyone to come up with a better explanation
Conway is NOT listed as a park on the map........And I don't belive it is at Conway either! It used to be a park but it is NO longer a park! Check your sources
allison i think that we are the first ones to find that but my feeling is is that the 954 is not the streets. 9 trees to 5 trees leading to the adorn the front door thing. then
what does the 3m+the big 1 on the first national bank thing equal?. it equals the somewhere a "4"
I have a few ideas they may have been said before: Iconoclast may mean that you have to smash something (ice) to find the treasure. I also think that it may be in a
tiny drum (round white cover streched tight) just an idea!
I agree with POOH that it is very frustrating that I can spend all this time figuring out the clues, and many hours searching, and the person who gets it will probably be
someone who saw Conway on the news, went to the park, and then just tripped over the dang thing. Figuring out the clues has been fun, as has posting on this
Maybe it depends on what map you look at. Last night the debate was flying, and they proved Conway is a Park. Somebody posted a message with a link to a web
map site. I don't know for sure. JoJo where do you think it is? I think maybe Linwood, but I can't make all the clues fit. Sorry if this multiple posts but the web

Allison-Yeah, you ever notice it's either someone who ditched work or is on a lunch break or something. Getting that early start at 11:30 doesn't seem to help!!
I could be wrong, or the clue could have a double meaning, but I got the feeling from the wording that they meant literally a 9 and 5 and 4 and not just nine of
The area around the rinks has been turned over many many times!!!! I am going to need sharper shovels to dig into the frozen ground below that - Is it possible that
it was hidden so long ago that it has sunk down to the ground level and is frozen below the snow covering and has been missed by so many diggers??
Big10Gs I think it is at Burns park. I'm not familiar with St. Paul. I have been trying to help my sister out this year though. By just looking at a map I was able to
make a few of the clues fit. My sister put a few others together herself. Consider this: Water on high.......There is a Pacific Street just north of the park.
Anything is possible at this point pj. There are some unturned sections of snow, but they're not where the medallion is likely to be (i.e. you can't see some or all of the
major landmarks from there). Its also possible that somebody dug up one spot and dumped the snow nearby and that the medallion was under where they dumped
the snow. But from the surface it looks like snow that's already been dug up.
Maybe we should just have a post appear avery page or so that says, "Of course you can fit some of the clues to that park. You can fit some of the clues to any
park. We only want to know if you can fit all of the clues to another park."

Whipped.
alison did you figure out the round and white stretched quite tight yet?
IDEA...Could Conway park just be the vantage point leading to a valuable sign (clue 7) which would then lead you to the treasure?
Sensei-I have real doubts about Conway! It's not actually a PARK!! It's a recreation center!!

does anyone know how many people are at conway right now?

Most likely a couple hundred people out there at Conway now. Now that people are getting off work they'll be joining them

The clues don't match up at Dayton's Bluff already been out there. Why did you see something I didn't.
Just got back and there were 200-300 people there and the cars were starting to stream in. I actually saw quite a bit of untouched snow still.
pj does any of the other clues fit Dayton's bluff?
Is anyone still on that was talking about the two poles earlier? I'd like to know about that.

p.j. betto---do other clues fit daytons bluff
Woodi: ROFLMAO...I've been at Conway for 3 days, there is NO unturned snow.
Conway is NOT listed as a park on the map........And I don't belive it is at Conway either! It used to be a park but it is NO longer a park! Check your sources
again!
Nathan:
I admire your persistence, do you live in St. Paul and are you familiar with Daytons Bluff?
I AGREE THERE IS NO UNTURNED SNOW AT CONWAY. I BELIEVE THE MED WAS MOVED WITH ALL THAT DIGGING GOING ON

WHOMEVER FINDS IT ITS NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE IN THE RIGHT SPOT, BUT ITS BECAUSE THEY GOT LUCKY
Maybe it depends on what map you look at. Last night the debate was flying, and they proved Conway is a Park. I don't know for sure.
Allison - There should no longer be any debate as to the park the "puck" is located in, however, those explanations could use some help. :)

Lady C there is unturned snow

know its not by the rinks and i can also tell you where not to dig

But then again maybe I should take my own advice and not take ANYTHING this guy says literally.
yeah lets really screw up the park as if we already havn't. It the PP fault if you ask me. well off to do some damage.
Betto-The guy never hides it too close to anything!! It's always so many paces away from something to ensure it lasts through the 12 clues!!

Conway may not be the park! If you think of last year, everyone was up digging at Indian Mounds Park, and it wasn't there, but all the clues fit.
If I could make all the clues fit would I tell you?!
Hi...we were just at Conway...there's a LOT of people there, even police...they were directing traffic. Happy hunting!
Is there a # to call to get the 11:30 clue? (or can someone call me who has a computer at home?)
