Terry, Dunning is so tore up, do you really think that' they'd put it there?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:09 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Setting your own pace could well refer to a race.

Snow Lifter

Cross Country Skiing perhaps?

Girl

Oh it is fun to mess around, I am Joe with the Roseville Oval remark right?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:10 AM Permalink
Terry

Is it torn up? I haven't been by that way in awhile. I'll have to do a drive by tomorrow.

There are also tennis courts on the school grounds.

Med2k

track could also be the warning track of a baseball field

Regalman is right about Dunning, they got construction holes everywhere. There is no way they would take a risk like that

"ace" is probably just to rhyme.

I'm going with "set your own pace" being a reference to jogging, running, or cross-country skiing in view from the site.

A flying Ace???

Pace=car... Racing?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:12 AM Permalink
'mom'

Set your own pace made me think of running - like a marathon - right away....Can't think of much in the way of parks that the Twin Cities marathon goes past. Besides the Capital mall.

Terry

This is good! We have eliminated two places already tonight!

Harriet Island and Dunning Field are tore up so likely not a place to hide the medallion.

Regalman

Yeah, they are buildin a whole new playground and building. All my friends go to central, and it would be risky. Plus with all of the fences separating the fields??? I do agree with what you're saying.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:12 AM Permalink
Med2k

they tore up the old rec center builing and are working on a new 2 story one right behind the backstop of the central varsity field, id stay away from there

Derrick - Instead of hitting refresh, just click on the first blue number after your name. It'll take you to the newer posts.

pace picante? I like that!

Ace being a flying ace...like the red barron is what made me think of Snoopy in the first place.

Snow Lifter

The question is: Where are the focal points in the clue? Don't you think the words pace and chase are kind of redundant?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:18 AM Permalink
Terry

You're welcome, Derrick.

I suppose I should head out too. No particular place to start digging yet so might as well get some shut eye.

See you all tomorrow!

Pace Picante sauce? Ace Hardware?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:18 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Another stretch, but setting your own pace and becoming an ace reminds me of the story of the turtle and the hare.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:18 AM Permalink
New Daddy

Gotta go and get into the chase for a good nights sleep... Night to all

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:19 AM Permalink

Green and Blac…

I don't think Phalen, they are cutting it up right now.. The ice that is and I think that will be too many people around there... They are making a maze for the Carnival

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:19 AM Permalink
Terry

Allison - I always liked that story...and if it has to do with a tortoise - that would be Como.

Now I'm really heading to bed. Goodnight x 2!

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:21 AM Permalink
jakeinge

Well, I gotta go to bed. I've been thinking about the clue, but it's still to vague. I will talk to you all tomorrow. Goodnite and sweet dreams.

The State Fair has racing, but that's in Falcon Heights. Hmmmm

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:26 AM Permalink
Regalman

Highland has a track, and the planes always fly overhead....

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:27 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

ACE what it is in on a card? As in DECK of...

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:30 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

What is this clue about? It would be unusual for the second clue to refer to the park name or even a street name. It doesn't usually even refer to a landmark. Usually its something that goes on in the park or is a part of the park such as water, woods, or sledding. Could it be tennis? Maybe, if the whole point of the clue was just to use the word ace, and even then an ace is something you do, not something you are. Might refer to racing of some sort, but what park has racing? Or maybe its a hidden meaning? Hmmmm

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:31 AM Permalink
green

Hidden Falls is by the Ford Plant...

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:31 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

How does the Ford Plant figure into it?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:33 AM Permalink
Regalman

Green, I know it has been there before, but for how many people get out, and participate now, don't you think hidden would be dangerous w/ the bluff??

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:34 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

Phalen has racing, but I dont' think it is going to be there, they are terring up the ice to make a maze.. too many people there with big machines...
