The Trudeau Candy Co. was known for it's Seven Up Bar.

hmm - Bar without alcohol? not mixing drinks? Kids like Candy? Kids have a (leaning tendency) to want candy.

Think like a kid - a Candy Bar is better than a drinking bar?

On the PP site someone said there was a George Trudeau, so George street by Cherokee.

cause they are stalling. They want this to go 12 clues, and they want people to think they 'got something' early on.

By hitting us over the head with pearsons we are following it around.

We still don't know if it's the hidding implement or pointing us to a park that is near there.

For all we know - the dang thing could be in some little park on the board of BFE - with some little tiny link to pearsons.

It's like the White Christmas clue from last year pointing to Bing CROSBY, and it was at Crosby park. Son of Pear, Pearson. Note that the P is capitalized, unusal in a clue. But, what would a son of a pear be? pearette? pear jr.? Paired?
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 11:14 AM Permalink
Love4Vino

well, pears have seeds. Seedlings are sons of pears.

so long as they don't hit us with Doonsbury and Gary Trudeau I think we are ok!
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 11:15 AM Permalink
queenmalley

But i do think, too, that the Son of Pear,(Pearson), could ONLY refer to what it is hidden in, with the park location still wide open.

queenmalley

Vino: yes, seeds would be son of pears.

Trudeau merging with Pearsons is just a real funny coincidence

Pearson Candy Company is pleased to announce the 2004 introduction of Flurries as a new bagged goods item. Try Pearson's Flurries . . . chocolate mint fudge center covered in a creamy white coating!

Hidden in a flurrie? the package would certainly be larger than a nut roll or a goodie pack - and white - easier to camoflage in some frozen ice??
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 11:18 AM Permalink
wolfpac

Snow flurries and ice, that should suffice!

no, the stuff came out in 2004. It's on their site as the last added candy.

I was just thinking it goes with the Patty idea. It's not the patty, but it's kinda along the same line - and its sweet. Kids like sweet.

Just to answer Vino's qestion "Also, since the first time I read clue #2, I couldn't stop thinking about a really good Hamburger. - haven't tied that in yet tho"

Their is a really good hamburger place on Hamline right down the street from Highland...Called Mickey's Nook.
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 11:28 AM Permalink
Love4Vino

yeah, I know about that place. Its on my map.

also there is a bar called the starting gate down there - "steelers headquarters, Mickey's and Pearson's worker hangout."

not sure if it fits in yet or not. but on my 'suspecious location' map.

Mint patties, Flurries, Nut Goodies...I think you just have to decide that you will hang on to ANY medallion you find, no matter WHAT it's wrapped in!
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 11:34 AM Permalink
Love4Vino

forget the flurry. I want a hamburger or some of that chinese food at the undisclosed restaurant that used to be coachmans.

heck - I'd settle for anything. lunch is 30 minutes away.

"Dudley P. Nutt" Offical mascot of pearson candy company. Strange!

Actually isn't is called Casper and Runyon's Nook? It's right off Hamline and Randolph. Near Cretin.

morning heads!

So I've spent the morning anagrammin-

The only thing I've come up with so far is "mixing" drink with vulcanic activities I get ice rink at- then a bunch of leftover crap that I can't do anything yet with the other letters.

Thanks, seems like when it comes to candy - I have a bit of a childlike Proclivity myself.

"Tom Trudeau, 54, of St. Paul allegedly groped the breasts and crotches of three female bartenders at Alary's Bar last week.

One of the bartenders alleged in a complaint that the Vulcans surrounded her and put their capes around her while Trudeau put a garter on her and touched her inappropriately"

"Trudeau" as in merged with Pearson Candy Company, and of course Garter in clue 3.

Yes I stand corrected its called Casper and Runyon's Nook and is across the street from Cretin high school
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 11:56 AM Permalink

So why isn't Trudeau listed as being Vulcanus Rex? Was he replaced?
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 12:00 PM Permalink

I am pretty sure he was booted and has no affiliation with the organization.

"Trudeau was charged with three counts of fifth degree criminal sexual conduct and booked into the Ramsey County Jail.

The Winter Carnival president Bob Viking said disciplinary action will be taken after an internal investigation."

But the article from WCCO didn't say what happened to Trudeau.

They had a former Rex filling in for the rest of last year.

It is another connection to Pear-son in the clues, but could be a red herring.

Dr. Ink: Insty Prints next door to Pearsons. I have a teammate scoping out Highland.

So I've been thinking about "look for snow and ice, enough to suffice" and it got me wondering about where they put all the snow they remove from the downtown area. They remove all the snowbanks from the downtown area during night hours, so there no snowbanks to climb over. Someone on the PP board said they had huge piles of snow near the compost site at Highland. Any thoughts?

I don't think they'd want people digging through that tho. Knowing that people are dumb, do you think they'd put that as a way point?
Tue, 01/24/2006 - 12:14 PM Permalink
Tatergirl

That's what I was thinking, just look for it. Meaning it's a point in the park that identifies it.

Ok - so I was thinking about Son of Pear (and yes, I still think it's Pearson) but I have to do something with my idle mind right now.

SO I've been researching the geneology (sp?) of

Pears

They are part of the Rose Family.

Pears would be son of a rose...

another google tid-bit.

Ted Shackley (who Idolized Harvey - JFK) was called Son of Pear, cause Harvey (given his shape) was referred to by the CIA as Pear.

Shackley street? business? etc ??
