if this is like other small town hunts..

tell me nothing but the rules

Clue #2 for Saturday, February 4th:

It must have been a bright, White City, day,

when OLD TIMER PETE lost his weigh?

Sometimes Pete rested along the way.

He thought of a park for kids . . . someday?

white city...has me confused

but again...the clue has me with nothing more than a kids park

why??

day, weigh, way, day

2 simple...no finesse

Some folks knew Pete as OLD SNOWFLAKE!

because he loved this time of year.

Old Timer would pack a sled

with lunch, dry socks, and all his gear.

KITCH

look for sledding hill with pinic tables or shelter..

again...simple clue IMHO

Clue #4 for Monday, February 6th:

Yes, some corrections must be made.

Was his prize lost in the shade?

It is tough to say on a snowy day

when so much white gets in the way.

OT

The World's Columbian Exposition of 1893 was referred to as the White City because the buildings were all white.

they have sled dog races in bunker hills for the "snowflake days"

The Whipple Farm aka "White City" was located on 121st Avenue and Hanson Boulevard. The original farmland was entered on the Abstract of Title on April 18, 1856. A patent was issued on April 3, 1857.

The Whipple family owned the farm from 1934 to 1941. There were ten buildings on the farm, all painted white, including a farm house, milk house, two cattle barns, chicken coop, butchering shed, coal shed, garage (with basement and chimney), and two large sheds. Also included was a windmill used for pumping water.

The Zawistowski family bought the farm on January 6, 1942, and lived on it until 2002, when the property was sold for redevelopment.

IAN???

is this the land where that little "white buliding" is left...with the stream...

basically one of my favorite little parks in citys??? or am I in the wrong town all 2gethor???

I think Lions Coon Creek and Cardinal Woods are the two closest parks to that area. I know Coon Creek had a couple of geocaches a couple of years back.

hertells - shellter? mispelled anagram

There is the turtle casino in Hertel,WI but that doesn't fit for Coon Rapids.

Have you heard that there has been discussion between some council members who want to change the name of "Coon" Rapids because of the word COON?! Apparently they feel it is offensive to use the word Coon - wtf?

Down the street to the corner,

Trees, signs, passing carriages, and foot prints,

But should I go leaved or write?

They distract from clues that make cents.

these clues sound simple-

Be it hay or straw, be it bedding or feed

you must figure out what the cart pushers need.

Snowflake knew if the trail should be straight not narrow

the distance is measured by the flight of an arrow.

They were just talking on the news, about how some city council guy in Coon Rapids wanted to change the name of the city...... in his words, he thought that the name makes the city sound too redneck-ish.... a buncha people complained about it, and he evicentlly withdrew his idea....

weird stuff....

Old Pete in those Daze, the clues seem to fail

The Old Timer, some how must have took the wrong trail.

The trees, the sand, the chain, the rail

An empty bucket, a barrel, a Â…pale or Â…dale.

We start at the backdoor sometime in July

and end past the front gate, now give it a try.

Shuffle out warmer now what do you think

the Old Timer went past a hard water drink.
