I was out earlier looking. There were some families out. I've got a park I like, but I've looked over it. Can't really figure out the clues as well though.
I think I'm gonna try and take a stab at one of these today. The kid wants to check out a few things at Kaposia Days but I'll convince her that there's other things to do in Oakdale and Roseville too.
So is that Maple Grove, White Bear Lake, Oakdale, South St. Paul and Roseville? Damn!
And I'm going to oakdale city hall. Last year they promised explanations that never showed up. I think at least personally I put a lot of time in on this hunt (actually I've put a decent amount of time in for the last 3 years) and it would be nice to get some answers.
Garsh darned it!%&$%*&^..... I was at Tanners Lake, that's what I liked. And I checked out the culverts yesterday. I guess I didn't check them out enough. Damn it.
When I was out at Oakfield tonight I had to use the port-o-potty. I go in there, and just as I get my foot in, a mouse jumps down onto my foot and then scurries off. Almost scared the piss out of me, but I was able to wait.
try a week of searching all over oakdale. I was out every evening save friday night and every evening was from 6pm to sundown (later some nights). I did search tanners lake, but obviously not good enough.
Lessons for next year though. small parks can be thoroughly searched and eliminated quickly. Every year I get more determined to find this thing. I gotta go check out the spot tomorrow night and get a picture for records.
For Oakdale next year I think we keep track of where we search. That way we can tell each other where we search, and we can have each other double-check.
Oakdale will learn you don't get the Cooler Crew mad...
Here's all we found in Oakdale yesterday. And it looks like 3M & TMK stumbled acrossed it too. I like when that happens when you're not looking for it.
All I can say is.. who writes this tripe? Medallion "Hunt" referering to Tanners? Give me a break nobody would come up with that. Its like saying "Medallion" references a manhole cover near where they hid it.
I absolutely hated the pair that were "grounded close and strong". The description says it was for two former mayors that live near the park and like to work in their yards. Utter crap...
"see things you didn't see before". Key word, DIDN'T. Their explanation was "see before" a park where the medallion was formerly hidden. That doesn't even rate the word crap. And what's all this talk about not steering you wrong? Oh, that's just a reference to a parking lot....
Like I said. Next year, forget the dang clues, they're worse than meaningless. Everybody pick a few parks and go over them with fine tooth combs, we'll have it in a couple days.
Hey KC, I think we should write emails to these people about these clues. Talk about crap. How many people of Oakdale would even know some of this stuff? And some of the explanations take more steps than a marathon. They need to know that with crap like this people are really going to not want to hunt for this.
already have an email into someone on the oakdale website. Not sure if I'll get a response, but I'm hoping to be put in touch with someone running this hunt.
that was fast. I got an email back from Sue at the Oakdale website. She's going to mail me the clues from all the previous hunts (except the first year, she only knows where it was hidden).
She did save some face with me though, but I did let her know to let the powers that be know these clues were way too cryptic.
Here's the list I'm getting
I have copies of the clues and explanations for 6 of the seven medallion
hunts -- the first year is missing. They are not on my computer, but
I'd be happy to mail them to you if you'd like to email me your address.
Also, I can tell you in which parks it has been found:
Oh and don't bother getting the same info over and over again. As soon as I have the clues in hand I'll get them all posted here, every typo, comma, and carriage return. I'm sure Ares can get em on the site too.
Ranks right up there with "People travel through the air without a wire to keep them there..." the worst clue I've seen until the pile you showed us... :worried:
These were pretty poor excuses for clues. Although I still think that Cono clue about some school a mile away was pretty far fetched. There were a few of them that year that remind me of this hunt too. Sad :eyeroll:
Hendrix, Townsend, Van Halen, and Page They know heavy metal rock. Before he was king and still just a boy, He lived in this city's block.
Big plans are underway. The changes may affect the sight. But when all is said and almost done, The lights will still be bright.
The faces might go unnoticed. The names we're betting you know. Swell on this and you'll envision. Feet and limbs all in a row.

Next year I'm taking time off and I'm going to SCOUR every park in oakdale till I find it. Forget clues.

The floor to the north made it stick,
Since thatÂ’s how it got its name.
The faces might go unnoticed.
The names weÂ’re betting you know.
Dwell on this and youÂ’ll envision
Feet and limbs all in a row.
