Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes
To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched
Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey
Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet

On some carousels, like Cafesjian's Carousel in St. Paul, Minnesota, all the figures are horses. Others, called menagerie machines, feature a variety of animals such as cats, goats, rabbits, ostriches, pigs, giraffes, and deer.
I still think the clue writer could be referring to the carousel...just found it interesting that the word menagerie was used.
No one cares about the stupid metal detector
I finally get a day off during the hunt this year -- and I think I'm getting the crud. Sore throat, headache, ish. Can't be sick!
Hunters more xperienced than I would wander off and leave me 'hunting' alone. Took awhile, but it finally sank in I was wasting my time...

Found by brother and sister combo, Steve Doyle and Maureen Hursey, who took home the $4,000 prize because they had registered a button. Well, of course they registered a button – they had only been hunting for the medallion since they were kids. And, finally, at 1.45 p.m. on February 4 in Cherokee Park, the 32-year-old boy and 37-year-old girl were able to rest this childhood dream.
From 1998 Cherokee hunt, so not too long ago. I know my wife had a first name then, not sure about other girls...
