Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.
Recent Clues:
Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes
To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched
Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey
Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet

I'm new to the discussion boards, but not new to the hunt. I've been hunting since I was 10 and am now 41. But I have to get some honest opinions here...................
From clue 1 Medallion Hunt II, I have thought Phalen. Here's why, Lets see if anyone else agrees with me.
In clue number 1 there are many references to Phalen, in the first paragraph it states strap on your hunting shoes.......there's a bench at Phalen where there is a pair of shoes strapped to a bench.
In a park where a body can be benched could be reference to the nearby hockey rinks, the nearby cemetary, or the nearby slab of cement.
10,000 thou cut in half is 5,000 and that just happens to be the distance around Phalen's trails.
Woodsy retreat, (and from the 2nd paragraph) demented & unprecedented....to place the puck back to the park where all the controversy over the "racoon" and the "green donut" took place.
Channel the bard....the whole Shakespeare idea, poet etc... what about the addition of "poetry park" where the benches are shaped like books? at Phalen.
You'll get warm and smell pretty sweet, warm could be reference to certain streets nearby such as Cottage and Furness, plus flowers don't smell sweet they smell pretty, what smells sweet is bakery items...like a green donut???????????? and if you like to stay with the flower idea you could put that towards streets too such as Hyacinth, Geranium....etc...
From clue 2 I get:
Thinking big.......a big park....could be Como, but still I like Phalen.
Near flora with growing pain....Payne Avenue or even Ivy Street.
A menagerie of fun wild or tame....again Arcades (Street) are fun and there are the "Wildflower" signs at Phalen posted.
From clue 3 I get:
Success on the third clue will never do..........If your not succeeding(success) your Phalen!!!!(Failing)
Round you go if you seek to know.... Round Lake!!!!!!!!!!
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned............the beach. The synonym for orbs is: an object with a spherical shape, ball, or globe, and the synonym for swatters is: flutter about as in water...there is a mural painted at Phalen by the beach that is of bouncing beach balls????? and people seem to get beckoned to the beach.....?????
OK there it is, my ideas out there for all to read. Does anyone else feel like PHALEN?????
Thirst must be quenched- Schmidt Brewery in view
Body can be benched- they have a weight room
woods on east end of Park
Bard Of Avon- Linwood is on St.Clair and Avon
warm and smell pretty sweet could be referring to Avon products or Pleasant Arena
swatters of orbs - tennis couts or baseball fields
any other takers?
I began the morning with IM -
nice lunch with Camo Crew at Obbs
I almost went to Linwood- great noodles were made for there today -then the great noodles for Phalen came ---
so out to Phalen I went -- I spent more time here today than anywhere - not many here or in IM. saw a maidallion and camo crew, kitch and muck
I was then supposed to drive to Central
didn't make it but its on the list
drove to Como for a bit
walked around with Kitch and Muck
talked with Ian, LLBell, Rrrrrrandy, Ian, Jake, Steve (cherokee98), medhunter...
saw barefoot guy around the frogpond,
ran into a woman who had been jogging who lost her cell phone -
and after I couldn't see anylonger I drove home....only to not be able to find my phone
then I found it!!! and at that moment kitch called me and the first thing I exclaimed was "I can't beleive it! I found ........ my phone!" hahaha
did other stuff inbetween
so those are my top 4 parks - not in that order
I even had time to dig in every park I was in today - I'm exausted!
fyi- good noodles on edgcumbe
enjoy! saweeeeet!
It's like watching sports, but not being able to participate :eyeroll:
Stage one of the rollout is complete, now to wait for my ride, head home and have a nightmare or two about database corruption. I should bring in a countdown "death clock" set it for 8am Monday morning. I'm sure the boss would appreciate it.
I appreciate the sharing of ideas regarding Edgecumbe and Phalen. Helps to keep an open mind in all this.
Just got up from a nap. Will be having dinner and then waiting for the clue. Might as well be armed with more words to ponder. If they are good enough words, we may be out to a park after clue time.
Love the weekend!
I will lead you there, Fair and square
to the park where it is hidden.
My game is in the bag, I've been oh, so vague
It's not where you've been sittin.
To find the puck, you'll need some luck
and a compass, two or three.
Now there is one way, that you could find it today,
And that's if you'd have followed me.
If thats the real deal, then the compass part scares me...
Como has the sun-dial
I remember the compass comment
