Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

I'm gonna wait at my friend's house like 5-8 minutes away from central. The clue usually gets posted on here within 5 minutes of when it's released at the PP and I don't think a 10 minute head start is going to make much of a difference. *knocks on wood*

Wish I could head down to the bar, but was out hunting tonight. Went to Central after work, and was there for a few hours. No luck, of course, but I really don't have the a-ha moment where the angels sing and reveal the location of the grail.

Good luck hunters! LEts have CC be a deuce!

Watched Fox9 news and they didn't show any interviews. :frown: All they did was say lots of folks hunting at Central Park in Roseville and showed a picture of the park sign.

"Personally, I prefer to play poker in real casinos - where I can face my opposition and see "the whites of their eyes."

Something with gambling/poker/etc?

"I can assure you that for the general public watching poker on TV want to see great acting and great action. And when a player makes a move they want to see the whites of their eyes so they can share their emotions. Sunglasses make this impossible. "

Poker playes where sunglasses so the opponent can't see the whites of their eyes.

Two of my sons are out there now and there's one car in the parking lot. Is everyone waiting for the new clue or what?
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 8:34 PM Permalink
Terry

That's odd. You'd think there would be teams in the field waiting for the clue.
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 8:36 PM Permalink
queenmalley

Maybe they are on the wrong side of the park??
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 8:38 PM Permalink

Seems like everyone went down to the paper for the event. If its a really good clue we might head out for a little tonight, otherwise diggin in daylight.

They're somewhere between Lexington and Dale near some ballfields by a bridge over a RR track. Is that kind of where people are looking?
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 8:41 PM Permalink

There is a biffie in Central Park at a Dale Street enterance- can't remember which one :frown: But the door was wide open as if someone dug threw all the poop to see if it was hidden in there.

It could be a possability because don't they throw somekind of blue ice into it?
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 8:46 PM Permalink
Terry

People have been all over that park...east, west, north and south. No concensus as to what park the medallion is located. They could be warm - or they could be way off the mark.

Hopefully tonight's clue will narrow this down a bit.

Do you think that they will hide it on frozen water, like a pond?
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 8:51 PM Permalink
Terry

They have before - but hard telling this year. The ice making weather hasn't been so favorable for good, safe ice.
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 8:52 PM Permalink
tom

Reason I ask is, because I found a nice spot at the Dale Street South Enterance along Sextant. It has what looks to be lots and lots of dried up flowers, and trees, but I heard ice shift while walking on it, and seen the surface was ice. I didn't want to risk it busting open- and thought with ice not freezing over that well this year, that if the PP had a brain, they wouldn't hide it on ICE when it comes to the last clue, everyone standing on the ice would be too much weight. But on the other hand, were talking about a clue writer that hid the puck in a donought that got ate.
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 9:03 PM Permalink
Terry

Yup. I would hope someone would be smart enough to not hide it there. Not good PR to have someone get soaked, hypothermia or drown.

Queen, true but he claims he was typing in the dark. Doubt it's accurate, though. We do know it's about a flagpole but which one? I saw at least two out there.

The north parking lot on Dale is the Legion feild for the american legion.

Tue, 01/30/2007 - 9:31 PM Permalink

But I was told that's private property and off limits. There is a flagpole there, though. Darn, I want the clue!!! Too far for me to drive tonight. Besides, I broke my thermos so no way for me to stay warm (Bailey's and cocoa). What do you think the odds are of finding it in the dark and in such frigid temps?
Tue, 01/30/2007 - 9:32 PM Permalink
Inasuitcase

Okay, Oldtimr just posted that exact clue on the PP boards.
