that was one nice thing about not having much time to hunt this year. came home from class today to a clean house, a delicious home cooked dinner, and a fire in the fire place. ain't married life great!

hehe. i cooked dinner for tc once. she got a mean bowl of easy mac. lets just say she doesn't get all that excited when i volunteer to do the cooking.

You just need to practice. Inks is a good cook...and so is the oldest kid. The youngest knows how to make chicken, eggs, and homemade mac and cheese. Oh! And lets not forget frozen pizzas.

which one is the oldest? cuz ramen noodles are college staples.

Brian is the oldest - and loves to cook.

Brenda best marry someone who cooks - cuz she doesn't much.

And I don't think either of my kids got into Ramen noodles a whole lot - but some.

One of the ladies with Brian's boy scout troop used to make a salad using ramen noodles - but that's about the only time I've had them.

that's what she does too, but they're just good hot and seasoned.

we used to heat up ramen noodles on a electric burner plate in our rooms in Korea (army). We would throw in an egg and slice of cheese. Good stuff.

3M is that with or without the seasoning packet?

with. Just put in a raw egg when you put in the season packet. Top with cheese just before you eat it. We usually used less water than the instructions said.

My kids are Ramen addicts. They put hot sauce in theirs... :lipsealed:

Then again, they put hot sauce on everything. GROSS!

I love ramen but I can't stand it with cheese mixed in :shudders: blah

Just got back from the Vulcans Victory dance and let me say that it was great to see some of the cooler crew whom decided to come and shake a leg with. It would be cooler if next year we could get more people down there from the CC, as it was an awesome time! I look forward to seeing you all at the RHB tomorrow. Get ready for the meatballs!!! I think that I will call them Vandelay's Swatted Orbs!!!

I used to put ketchup on everything... mashed potatoes, green beans, mac and cheese...

Now I just heavily slather it on meats and fries... (can't give up everything) :wink:

My kids are ketchup addicts.....but it would NEVER be allowed on ramen noodles.....ick!

We go through a lot of ramen here too. The kids like it just like it's intended, don't do too much fancy with it, but I do make a good lo mein kind of dish with it.

me too. these days i rarely use it except for fries.

Ketchup is a better source of Lycopein than actualy tomatoes!

What a super duper rehash bash!!! Being indoors is definately way cooler! Thanks Allison for setting us up.

We asked Allison if we could use that spot again next year. Makes for a great place to have a potluck and time to visit with folks without freezing.

Great to see all that could make it. Really missed those that didn't come.

This was the 10th Rehash Bash! From what was a group of about 15 - 20 people in 1998 at Chair-o-key to what was there today, it's amazing.

and next year will be the 10th anniversary!

How many do you think were there today?

Eags, I'm guessing with the comings and goings - about 100. Some came early and left right after the prize drawings. Others came a tad bit later.

Personally I would guess a little bit lower, like around 60 or 70. The real answer though is "not enough". There are always people you want to see and talk to at the party, and you notice when they're not there. Ideally one would like to see everyone who hunted come out and share in the fun.

It's always wonderful to see those that come, but there is always those that you wish were there.

That was cool that you offered up your lodge AW! The only thing I can say is that I've only attended a handful of RHB mostly because it falls on a Sunday. Personally, I'm really not a Sunday fan, especially when it's falls on SB Sunday. I'd like to see it move to Saturday myself. But that's just me. It had nothing to do with why I wasn't there this year though.

I way like the warm setting though. Very nice.

We almost made it. By the time we got there everyone was gone.

I really hate living up north. Its a great area if you like fishing and hunting (wrong kind tho) and snowmobiling and 4x4s and other outdoor activities, I like the house and the land and there are alot of good people up here, but the job market is almost nonexistant and its too far from everyone/thing I care about.

Sounds like it was a great time wish I was There. But I will have to say you all missed Art shacking his groove thing Sat night at the dance man that guy cant cut it up! Kitch was out grooving with me and beckies,love for vino and a couple of others hope to see more make it out next year. I think it was all the Komeez's in the room that did the wifey in to all that showed up in my room thanks really made it for a fun night!!!!!!1 Let's do it again next year!!!!!!

Marleyking, I can sure relate! After 5+ years in Marquette, and I do love living here, I am working on moving back to the cities. I miss being near family and friends. The job market here is so-so, the pay is typically low and almost no one offers health benefits if they can get away with not doing so. Then they tell you, "the benefits of working here is you get to live in the U.P.". Keep us posted on your progress in trying to move back, and I will do the same. Hope we see each other out hunting next year!

Sorry I couldn't make it. I had very little voice left by Sunday after the cold gave me 3 of the deadest karaoke nights I've had yet. (Normally at least one night picks up well!) So, I spent most of the day in my PJ's trying not to venture outside if I could avoid it. Hoping next weekend works better for my shows. I can't handle singing every 15 minutes anymore. lol

As for Ramen noodles... I haven't liked them nearly as much since they got rid of the hot & spicy flavor.

well crap! I didn't even make the RHB because I thought it was at 2 (it helps to actually read the info at the top of the screen) :eyeroll:

then I had other family stuff going on...I'm sad I missed it but I'll be there next year!

A BIG BIG thanks to Mucluck, Diggin, Kitch, Kat, Leela, and anyone else who braved hours and hours of cold to be at the front of the PP! You are truly "team-players"!! The conference call (thanks, Bear!) was an awesome and fun idea...it was good that we could mute/unmute ourselves! I'm definitely in favor of doing the conference call again!!!

I wanted to tell each of you who waited at the PP how great that worked. It was very exciting listening to everybody on the confrence call and the mad dash to find the tree with cracked bark. Another great memory to have of great hunts gone by.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the rehash bash on Sunday. I had to work that day. There's always next year, though! I hope to see you all on March 1 at Fabulous Fern's for the mock hunt!
