I got an old smc wireless-b router that works just fine...but I thought I'd try to upgrade it to an linksys g with speedbooster..can't get a connection to save my hind end..
I have a Linksys ethernet router, and have had no trouble with it, was why I was asking. I am not using it, if you need one to hold you over until that stuff all works out...
I had a linksys router, brand new, that worked once then I couldn't access it. My easy fix was to bring it back and exchange it. I've had no problems since.
I've had issues with linksys routers in the past. Generally I found I had to reboot them from time to time. After some research online I found the issue had to do with the power supply, strangely enough. I haven't heard that as much with the newer ones though.
I know for a fact I was on channel one last night and it stopped working....I had conflicted it with my home phone...cuz it started working when katie got off the phone....
Actually now that I think about it I have had to reset and reboot it before. Theres a little reset button you stick a paperclip wire into to reset. It's right on the front panel.
You can copy elements of a page. But to copy the page itself, you would have to copy the source, and I wouldn't recommend that granted it could mess up the forums when someone happens across that post.
hold 'alt' and 'print scr' then paste into a prog like PS or something. It'll take a picture of what ever is on your screen at the time you copy it with the alt/print scr.
To isolate one post just Right click on the post number and "Copy shortcut" then when you want to post the link right click in the feild where you type your message and click on "Paste". When you post it it will read right and take you to the same post when clicked.
Your welcome. I thought of posting that in here, but it was asked in the other thread so I didn't. Thanks for bringing it in here me2. Glad it helped someone.
OT- don't run any scan or anything from that page. If you have an antivirus program you can make sure it's updated, then run a full system scan to remove anything you might have. Just make sure you run the scan from your own program on your own computer.
Thanks mrmikey. I didn't click on anything. They sure make that stuff look official though. I'm happy there are people here to turn to when something like that happens.
If your PC is already infested with spyware and adware, resist the temptation to succumb to impulse buys of anti-spyware products that you see on the Net, esp. those included in the "rogue/suspect" list on this page or advertised on Google. Instead, you can get help online from a corps of savvy volunteers who specialize in busting spyware.

or if you're like me, search the net for walkthroughs on how to clean the spyware out yourself.
A couple months ago, I completely rooted out all the spyware/adware on a friend's PC. It took me... 12 hours total to do it, but I'll guarantee I got rid of ALL of it. Granted reformattting the hard drive and reinstalling all the software would have taken that long, but there was a lot of personal data on the system.
Word to the wise, save all your personal data on a CD, DVD, external hard drive or a USB jumpdrive. Personally I'm choosing to backup photos and other documents I'm not working on on CDs and DVDs, and save the stuff I am working on on a large USB jumpdrive, so I can modify it. I'm trying to treat anything on my hard drive as stuff I can afford to lose.
Now, where's ares?

like when one of you would copy a page from AM and then post the page in your post?

I know I'll need to read it again to figure it out and now I know where to find it
that was fun- I never knew how to do that and it was so easy - I feel smarter already :ooh: :sheepish:
Should I be concerned? :worried:
Do I click on that scan?
My computer has been giving me fits, but I've been holding off and waiting for my son-in-law to look at it on Easter.
