Oakdale Clue 1:
The Annual Summerfest celebration
and the hunt for the medallion,
Are part of Oakdale’s history,
and most certainly part of the fun.
For those seeking the medallion,
The clues don’t always seem clear.
They may lead you to or away from,
So pay attention to where you veer.
Clue 2
Should you make it to the end,
On this, only Day Two,
You best reconsider,
So you’ll know what to do.
When you find the medallion,
The note will explain.
Which number to call,
And what you will gain.

The parade wave is fun,
When royalty you pass.
Public land holds the medallion,
So thereÂ’s no need to trespass.
Ideas develop when preparing the clues,
But a solid foundation is key.
The medallion, youÂ’ll find, will not be there,
But some nearby place you can see.

I believe there is a Burger King across the street -
Your journey should bring you to it.
If itÂ’s right from where you ascend.
The city administrator was ailing,
Now his noggin is on the mend.
It does not look the same,
For those not recently around.
ItÂ’s stately and even more fun,
A great hidden treasure to be found.

When royalty you pass.
Public land holds the medallion,
So thereÂ’s no need to trespass.

Your journey should bring you to it.
If itÂ’s right from where you ascend.
The city administrator was ailing,
Now his noggin is on the mend.
It does not look the same,

ItÂ’s stately and even more fun,

Can you see where it used to be?
Now the water is no longer there.
Head south, but not far.
To the home of a bear.
Better go for a jog
So you donÂ’t lose your way.
The medallion is waiting,
Along with your pay.
wth?
ty bfg for posting the clues
Only two clues to go, oh where could it be?
The hint is in wood, break it open and see.
Crafty searchers dismiss your denial
The park has a name: It's an eight of a mile
The location and a business,
The name for both is the name of one.
You needn't travel for long now.
The search is almost done.
thanks for the found update
One more clue out at 7:30 am tomorrow. If it rains tonight, it will probably insure it'll go to the final clue.

The Clues so Far
Clue 1
SummerÂ’s been chilly,
SummerÂ’s been wet.
Summerfest is here now,
The best part of summer? You bet!
For over 10 years, youÂ’ve searched the city,
As the medallion has traveled around.
High and low and in-between.
But itÂ’s never below the ground.
Clue 2
Please keep yourself grounded,
And itÂ’s clear if you do.
We might leave you guessing,
If you are right where we left you.
A field then and a field now,
But see, thereÂ’s lots more too!
OakdaleÂ’s parks are plentiful,
And you can count on us to steer you.
Clue 3
The Summerfest fun starts early this year,
On Wednesday, did you know?
Coronation, carnival, concert, and food;
We hope you plan to go!
Construction on the freeway
Brings more traffic to our thoroughfares.
But thereÂ’s no need to detour,
To the winter home of bears.
Clue 4
TonightÂ’s the parade,
So the route will be hopping,
But not on this side
So donÂ’t bother stopping.
Its nameÂ’s not too clever,
A bit misleading yet it fits.
Look one way and itÂ’s not there,
Look the other and there it sits.
Clue 5
Split off from the Bunkers,
A common theme we hear,
If you are on the west side,
You are very, very near.
A memorial is in the works,
A business to the south employs the same.
Get up with the sun and travel here,
This park should be your aim.
Clue 6
Eastside ParkÂ’s
The place to search.
Lying innocently on the ground,
ItÂ’s quite an easy perch.
Walkers, bikers, runners.
Many use the trail.
Down on your hands and knees,
A position that will not fail.
I'm surprised it went a whole day with everyone knowing the park.... Crazy.
did I miss something? which park?
Sucks that most every year I've hunted I've looked around that rink.. heh. :sheepish:
Curiously, there was this message in them I thought I should bring to people's attention.
"If you would like to see the medallion hunt continue in the future, please email Larry Eberhard at: larry@larryeberhard.com to state your interest in seeing the hunt continue."
So I thought this was a good place to post this and see if anyone would want to let this guy know we appreciate having these hunts to do.
Here's the link to the clues.

I was pretty close in my guess. It was at the Nature Center in Oakdale Park, hidden in a stone around the Central Air conditioner outside the building. Mikey, you should've got it, that's right up your alley
Joel,
Thanks so much for your kind comments. I will be forwarding yours and all
comments to the OBPA board as they consider the future of the medallion
hunt. It is comments just like yours that lend merit to continuation of
this community event.
Sincerely,
Larry
So if you guys get a minute, just send him a quick message about the oakdale hunt. Hopefully they'll decide to keep it going if they see a good response from hunters.
