Yeah, I vote any park/open space with a huge patch of woods.
I personally would be amazed if they picked an open park and did a fun hide again. How long has it been since the medallion was hidden attached to something out in the open? Merriam park I suppose?
all i can say about calling it first, is remember 2003.
if you can't, ask j to remember it for you. i'm sure the memories of that hunt will be as vivid for her as they still are for me (damn harriet chasing).
I'm holding on to Bald Eagle WBL.... I've spent good money several years now in the park pool picks at predig...oddly enough no matter what my pick number is, it's always available.
Park Hours are from ½ hr before sunrise until ½ hr after sunset
The Singapore Sling is a cocktail that is generally considered to have been created around 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, a bartender working at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel in Singapore, but it's origins may have begun at least 20 years earlier. It seems that there is a lot of disagreement over what constitutes an original Singapore Sling but I say, "Who cares?"
"Original" recipe
1 1/2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce Cherry Heering
1/4 ounce Cointreau
1/4 ounce Benedictine
4 ounces pineapple juice
1/2 ounce lime juice
1/3 ounce grenadine
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Garnish: Cherry and slice of pineapple
Shake with ice. Strain into an ice filled Collins glass.
Please Note that Alcoholic Beverages are NOT permitted in Ramsay County Parks!
To qualify for the additional $5,000, the individual who finds the medallion must have a registered Winter Carnival button. Groups or hunting partners may not share a registered button. In addition, the Pioneer Press will recognize one winner with one prize. If the finder chooses to share the prize award, it will be his or her responsibility.
Question though. Lets say someone without a registered button finds it, but they're hunting near a bunch of people. So the finder finds a person with a registered button, and agrees to let them "find" the medallion and split the extra money. I assume this would still work, but it requires you to trust the person with the button, since they would be the ones getting the check?
That's how I read it too... my guess is that if it was someone who cared about being the finder of record (going in the books) they would have registered the button. If they just care about the cash and are out there hunting and get lucky, they will find someone to trust.
Yeah.. I know his site was down most of the year.... was kind of wondering if he was so disgusted with the finding issue last year that he gave up on it.
Guess my account is still good. Talk to me. I will be in the hospital in New York the first week of the hunt. I think you will see me on here a lot. On the other hand, I felt like I needed some fitness so have walked parks the last 5 days. Keep in touch and good luck.
It's great out there today. I seem to be lacking the desire to wander. I should walk a couple of hours again. So far, I am just sitting here. Having done this so long most of the st paul large parks show little appeal since I know them too well. I have to go to uptown. Perhaps I should see if anything is going on at Crosby.
Well then it must be between the two of us because thats obviously myself on the button as well though they were kind enough to make my hair longer and blonder lol
I am so excited and hello CC peeps, glad to still be on the board and back!
