Not they will do this so early, but it appears that at first they are watering the rules down. But could this be a hint to a park which is both in St Paul and a suburb?
There might be thin ice signs - or just a caution if you are somewhere with water to watch what you're doing. Some places like Marydale have some spring feeds and often some open water all winter. Often the rivers are flowing as well.
Or it could be on the lake at Wakefield in a St. Paul suburb.
Yes, think the suburb could mean outside st paul proper; must be in a mostly neighborhood setting with all the warnings about keeping off private property, etc.
The treasure's in Ramsey; public land, search it all --
(just setting the rules)
Suburbs and neighborhoods and throughout St. Paul.
(I feel like this is referencing that it is NOT hidden in a park this year! What if this is the year it is on a trail!!!.....Gateway Trail? Bruce Vento Trail?....they both can run through some of those "suburb"-y (especially Bruce Vento trail) areas and can be also surrounded by homes easily.
Don't dig up the ground. Thin ice -- stay away!
(rule setting-- not going to over think ice-- although I have been known to miss a few clues!)
Courses for golf are all out of play.
(rules)
You won't find the puck by a private home --
(If referencing to a trail, know where the public land is and private property begins?)
Across private land is no place to roam.
(same as above)
hmmmm... Just clue 2, but at least in clue 2-- you know that puck is still out there somewhere! :goofy:
Thanks! No ideas as to which park yet, but I'm hoping things will narrow down to at least just a few and not all parks! Clue 2 and I'm still waiting for a few of those misled, yet thought-out-ish "ahhhh-ha" moments!
Seems like such a broad recap of the rules. I always struggle over whether a phrase like "thin ice--stay away" is just a reminder of the rules, emphasis on the rule because the park has thin ice in it, or even a descriptor with in the park (look in a park with a skating rink, but on the opposite side.
Does seem to be extra emphasis on the private land warning. Has me thinking HP. It butts up against lots of private lots with open yards. You could easily end up on private land without realizing it.
Clue 2 last year also referenced a "clue to the park." "Council" was tribal reference to Cherokee hgts park; it also had that "red herring" about the Bing Crosby song (Grrrrrr).
Considering that we all know that people find a park they favor and someone else picks a different park and then we end up all over the place for awhile, it makes sense to warn about thin ice. I wouldn't put much clue value to that. I can think of more than one park that has the opportunity for open water or areas of thin ice because of springs.
The double warning about private property could just be rule setting based on how we tend to be all over the place early, or it could mean there is more opportunity to trespass on private property depending on where it's set.
Bottom line, we already should know to stay off thin ice, not dig on private property, stay off golf courses, etc. But every year there are new hunters and those rules are important to the hunt.
m dashes — so called because they are (at least historically) the width of the character m — are used for emphasis or interruption. They can be used on their own or in pairs to offset a word or phrase:
Many people seek help from naturopathic medical professionals — those who emphasize using diet, exercise, meditation, and other tools for improving health.
A vast amount of serotonin — about 95 percent of the body's total — is produced in the digestive system.
The double hyphen (--) is sometimes used in place of the em dash. You may notice that word-processing programs automatically convert double hyphens into em dashes for you
I am asking my english teaching friend her thoughts on the em hyphen usage. Will report back her thoughts
I think CW wants us to think NSP WBL WB ave Casy Jones and Mr. Green Jeans...I have a entire different vein of thought.... Keeping it to myself for right now....we will see. I'ts gonna be too cold for me.. so I will follow clues with you all... if I believe I am correct.. I will run it past you all.
Pretty broad but then it's only clue 2.
I am so praying for a hunt in the snow and not the woods this year.
And probably not tomorrow - but we will likely do some scouting around our favorite parks.
Military reference
No trespassing - private property signs visible?
Otherwise this may just be a rules clue.
The only thing missing is whether its in a park - but how could it not be - and there is no boundary but the county line.
I think I'm going to go sleep so I'm not totally sleep deprived this early in the hunt.
Como is in St Paul/Falcon Heights
Phalen is in St Paul Maplewood
Battle Creak St Paul / Maplewood
Or it could be on the lake at Wakefield in a St. Paul suburb.
:goofy: :goofy:
But the other two certainly could work.

See I'm so lazy tonight I can't even spell it out. LOL
No matter what park you go to:
Stay off lakes/ponds/river
stay off golf courses
stay off private property
There may be one little nugget here, but I'm not going to over think it.
So a suburban park near ice arena w lots of private property around?
Goodnight and SCDs!

Does this mean not on frisbee golf course?
Could lots of warning about private property mean it is new community they do not want to piss off. Ie North St. Paul, or WBL
