I've been thinking just that. Maybe we need to take the cw more literal.

Anyone remember where it was found the last year we had to stand outside the Pioneer Press building for the paper?

This is either the 3rd or 4th year at Gabe's. It started with the work for the light rail downtown.

Welcome Rex! I remember you from way back. You've been all over the place. It's a wonder that you haven't been here sooner. You come from great lineage being from the old Puck Posse crew and all.

I just noticed that "Polar Vortex" is capitalized. No real reason for that. It's not capitalized on any of the weather sites that I can see. It's like capitalizing Tornado for no reason. Could add some credence to the WBL theory.

Wow. Reading the posts. WBL gaining traction and my avatar credited for the early lead.

I forgot to tell you all in over 40 years of hunting, I've never been correct by clue 3.

Using that as a prescript, I'm rethinking Harriet, the polar (ouch) opposite of my prediction.

So I'll see you all in highland, then?

Greetings!

Ready to get up and running this year. My new year's resolution was to post more!

Has anyone mentioned that the mascot for North High School is a Polar?

You're in a house. All four sides of your house are facing south. A bear a walks by your window. What color is the bear?

Rob, I think your right in asking about aerated lakes, but would also include ice rinks. Broad, I know...

A standout oddity for me is the use of private twice. Military reference? Army corp?

And I've wondered out loud to my glazed eyed spouse if roam was to be a homophone for Rome, referencing a missing or destroyed church.

No scrambled clue yet. Irritating.

And I signed up yet again this year to be notified of the new clue and as always, it doesn't happen.

Mon, 01/20/2014 - 8:40 PM Permalink

mired (verb) - to sink in the mud

mire (noun) - wet swampy ground, bog

Mired giving fits

blah blah blah Sandy

find them quite handy.

Nimrod

You can do this!
Mon, 01/20/2014 - 8:46 PM Permalink

Well if it is a Como clue - the polar bears were unhappy (fits) in their old pit. Now they have the new one.

there aren't enough words for the clue I want to write :pbpt:

I think the blah, blah, blah part was done very well Taters.
Mon, 01/20/2014 - 8:52 PM Permalink

I keep trying to rearrange words so they make sense and end up loosing the words that rhyme somewhere but at the end of the line.

And there is no snese to any of this.

POLAR BEAR

Species: Ursus maritimus

mari?

long shot
Mon, 01/20/2014 - 8:54 PM Permalink
Terry

Kitch, that's interesting - long shot, but interesting idea.

I'm alright. I go by AW's approach, and make cutouts of each word. It's much easier to visualize how the words might go together.

After giving them fits

He was mired in the pits

down by old sandy

you'll find this quite handy.

or something like that
Mon, 01/20/2014 - 8:58 PM Permalink
Tatergirl

LOL let's try this again

he was quite handy

blah blah after sandy

you'll find them in fits

mired by old pits

idk -- maybe a golf reference, or pit/quarry hint

WBL has an extra large sandy beach around it due to the low lake level.

After watching recent news stories, the only thing I think of when I hear Sandy is the hurricane, could there be a reference to Chris Cristie?
