2014 - Como Park

I was going to say I don't know if they can use a visual clue for something not there anymore.

But it is their game and we're all just chasing rainbows while it's snowing out.

The last time there was Rose and Jessamine, it was at Marydale. 1972.

Makes me wonder.

The grade school between Maryland and Wheelock. There are some colors on that building, but I don't know if its a rainbow.

I think I'll need to take a detour in the morning on the way to work and check it out.

Good idea JennyO.

I think I'm going to follow the yellow brick road, somewhere over the rainbow connection, to the frog pond in my dreams.

Goodnight and SCDs!

And I wonder if we are trying to make clues fit a park instead of the clues leading us to the park.

Goodnight x 2.

I love the labyrinth because I don't think it's included in the park book. It's circular, you can see it on google/maps. This would allow you to begin again, if at first you were fooled...

Ok, here's my last thought before I sign off for the night. "Begin again" means that if you got sidetracked, go back to clue 1. I think clue 2 was the red herring...

what was painted on the old pool building mural?

Arg! I get so caught up in reading threads and investigating links that I forget to try to spend time with the clues myself!

Here's my attempt at contributing-- trying to connect the older clues with the newer clues:

I'm looking at diction.....Boreas "roared".......lions!...(Como zoo!)

...."Polar".....BEARS........ animal references...I'm hopping into the Como'ver here wagon!

This stanza is troubling me: Across private land is no place to roam

I like the rainbow street car idea and other than that-- I'm stumped! Hindsight is always 20/20, so I'm off to study clues from 2013!

What if the rainbow is the bend in the Mississippi? Cherokee Heights again? Back to back?

I like the animal theme! My thoughts on the "private land" line is that it could relate to Como pretty well. There's that big section of private land SE of Lexington & Horton. Lots of homes. It juts up into Como.

Agree. Begin again to me is telling us how to read the clues. Should we look at the first hunt?

Yeah, the fishy smell is starting to dissipate for me, too.

fooled begin again.

Are they telling us all the obvious clues so far show be disregarded.

Is it far away or where you have been? with the north and polar reference could this mean it is in the south.

or does it mean south ave, south of silver lake in NSP, and this clue is fooling us to give up on the north suburbs.

Rainbows skip over the center, linking south: Chair- o key to North St.Paul, or WBL.

Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun - the north and east or west, unless it is far away and then we should go south.

Looks like I have narrowed it down a lot. it is either close or far N, S,E,or W, or in the center by the flower named streets.

Love the idea. All point to the EAST, on the Lake side of the park, where there is more private homes than on the WEST.

Since I hunt with a three year old, I like the idea of a place with bathrooms and snacks available.

I remember years ago, before I was married even, that they used those "flower" street names as a clue for Como.

Now what happened yesterday?

23 chromosomes = 23 acres?

And now I can't find any proof of that to validate that memory. Odd, I remember driving with my parents locating those streets. Maybe we were just that good that we got that without any reference in the clues.

but parking for just 120 cars; street parking would be mess 12th clue?
Wed, 01/22/2014 - 8:24 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

They didn't seem to care about parking at Lilydale. In fact, this would be a huge step up from that. Also, what are the odds a park like Shamrock would even go to the 12th clue?
