In the video he was digging near a type of pine tree. At this point, I'm not convinced that isn't a video of the actual hiding of it. I would look around such trees myself.
I remember the "dome" clue at Chair-o-key, when the finders dug deeper into earlier clues to make sure everything came into alignment.
Are there bits and pieces from earlier clues that don't quite fit yet, and where do they point us from where we are now? Is it simply another place in Como? Everything else does seem to point to Como.
The link is Deed Is Done Video though when I try to play it now it says it won't connect to the server. Still, the initial picture that comes up may be all you need. It kind of looks like he hid it by that tree on the right of the frame.
I can play it, hm, could be, but I doubt it. Worth considering though. I don't recognize any of those trees in any of the area west of estabrook though.
Maybe. The medallion I know is at least green colored. It could be frozen or wrapped in something else though, so you might not see green when you first find it.
Doesn't it say there is no clue in these verses? The video could be a different matter. It looks like Como Park. Might be east of Estabrook, or maybe it's a "generally east" sort of thing and it is actually behind Schiller.
Gawd. Studied Foucault in Grad school: Foucault elaborated on gaze to illustrate a particular dynamic in power relations and disciplinary mechanisms in his Discipline and Punish.
Queen, would it surprise you to know that the golf green (pitching/ pitches) (.09) is closer to Shiller than the closest ball field (.10)? Just throwing out another way to look at it? But since the ballfields are visible, I would tend to agree with the masses on this one.
Lol: The male gaze occurs when the camera puts the audience into the perspective of a heterosexual man. It may linger over the curves of a woman's body, for instance.
Back from stupid hunt. I found a dollar. My bright idea? Scheffer Rec Center. Olddly enough, on Como. Oh, and used to be Como Playground. Would explain a lot.
Fits and pits? Horse shoes.
Got a street out of the hunt too. Start again? Rerun. Character of Thomas berry, Thomas street.
Rainbows were the two green prisms adorning the warming house, and mansion and cathedral within view.
What caused me to stop, drop and shovel all day so far was an old 80's band bumper sticker (the only one I might add) for a MPLS band "Hurricane Alice" it the only picture on the was of a pirates head looking down. Weather the storm, and pirate Jack would have long hair and britches, and the band would be radio not TV.
And I anticipate tonight will be a frog reference, shifting the Como shovelers while leaving rec center in play ala Frogtown.
The Detroit Schiller monument also has a "gaze." and "the viewer is encouraged to move around the statue by sideways direction of Schiller's gaze." Interesting; wonder if the Como monument does the same.
First post this year, just some rambling thoughts, not going to make it digging this year so... have at it
Clue #1
1) Also as someone noted genes are chromosomes... the clues says "part of our genes" .........so part of chromosomes...... is Como
Clue #2--
2a) Seems to be hinting it is along a trail that goes through it all. And there is thin ice around, maybe a "Thin-ice" sign?
2b ) Agree those dashes mean something? As was noted two dashes -- is a "M" in morris code so...there are M&M&M&Ms.........What do you have M&Ms the puck is wrapped in and M&M bag?
Clue#3
3a) -- Old sandy is a clue, como lake.
3b ) You'll find "THIS" quite handy ..... THIS is the key word....... This = Esta in spanish... Estabrook Drive
Clue #4
4a) Rainbow leads you to the puck EstaBrook.... rainbows in the brook... follow Estabrook Drive....
4b) Keep walking around until you see the rainbow, looking at the conservatory? Colored lights?
Clue #5...
5a) Stars can be seen along the trial to the puck.
5b) Or maybe star ornaments along a fence away from the trail to the puck.... On the side walk? Christmas ornaments?.... But you need to follow the stars to the puck...
5c) Certainly seeing it will cause your mind to soar.. Like seeing an eagle or a rainbow or stars.....on the door....the conservatory...
That would be a very bad PR move. Tuesday will be tolerable and Wednesday good January weather esp. overnight. If they want to babysit us, send a spotter out in a nice warm van to patrol the area for crazies in various stages of undress...
[Altho I am reminded of the woman going to a wedding at the conservatory - alone in a wheel chair, dressed for and late to the party - that tipped over in the snow and she froze to death. There was no one around. She was discovered when the party left the building ...Very, very sad.]
I agree. I don't recall a SCOTCH Pine [long needles] around there and the rows of trees I noted in the area when there all flanked the edges of the streets, for the most part. They say this is not a video clue. I'd believe them.
The area behind Schiller is flat. There are primarily very tall pines there [5 in a sort of circle pretty close to the statue and due west of it] and there is a sidewalk/trail with a bench just about where the Frog pond pergola [sp?] is below to the south. The only place I did not scout for terrain is across Estabrook to the south of the entry to the East Picnic grounds and ball fields. That slopes up to Estabrook. If that is where it is [the spot in the video] Schiller could not see it specifically - it would be over the hill.
Is this still Sunday? or did I sleep thru it? I actually went to bed at 5:00am - set alarm for 10:00am and slept right thru til 1:30pm :frown: All the muscles aching - but not the bones, thankfully. Giving up on checking out my "sure thing" unless when I go out to the grocery and it is tolerable. I had so much warm clothing on last night - including boots that are 3 lbs each - that I think the aching was from carrying that weight around. Shoveling was not so bad - the snow is light. Walking thru it is. ...I just don't want to put on all that heavy clothing again
:ooh: Good everlovin' gods of the Hunt ...It is Clue #8!
I must have deleted my notepad. Altho I did not suffer body freeze last night, I think I was still suffering from brain freeze - that kind where one has no awareness of how unaware they are. Gheez!
Winter Carnival Royalty is making a surprise appearance right now at the Henry Sibley High School Choir Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction fundraiser. Nice of them to come out and support the choir!
just back from digging since 8am also. Saw lots of coolers out today, missed some others. Hunt may be over for me now because I have to work this week. (boo) I may have to take a 1/2 day or something if the clues are good. Dug a heck of a lot of snow today.
Are there bits and pieces from earlier clues that don't quite fit yet, and where do they point us from where we are now? Is it simply another place in Como? Everything else does seem to point to Como.
Unfortunately it was just on my sidewalk :frown:
I noticed that very specific and rare tree as well AW...
What is Johann von Schiller really gazing at?!
Fits and pits? Horse shoes.
Got a street out of the hunt too. Start again? Rerun. Character of Thomas berry, Thomas street.

I'm getting more socks, where are we all in Como?

Clue #6
6a) They moved the "Lily pond" also called the frog pond. as noted in this map link ... http://www.stpaul.gov/documentcenter/view/14460
6b) The rails on the stairs, and beams on the structure over looking the lily pond for euphoric
Clue #7
7a) Como
7b) Vulcans vision..... the sun? Fire, rays, conservatory....?
Clue #8
8a) No doubt the clue is pointing to Schiller and Ibsen.
It's Como in the lot across from Ibsen.....would go for Ibsen area first...then area across the street.. Looking for an M&M bag.....
Have fun, stay warm..

The wind is something else here in Bloomington.

Pretty brutal out there.

Hope some one finds it soon.
What a wind today!
Do you have a personalized MN plate?
Trolley Zone.
Found a concrete pad with a tree memorial dedication marker.
Heart skipped a beat or two when I clanked the concrete/brass plate
instead of frozen sod. No Joy
