Seems the area of the park to search is narrowed down - but that is still a fairly large area with lots of snow. I predict this won't be found tonight.
Oh I know who you are. We ran into a few people today that we have seen on previous days but I know exactly which one you were. Good luck tomorrow. I guess great minds think alike.
Tonight's clue kinda of feels like a clue 11 or even 12. Seems like they are trying to accelerate the end of this hunt because of the cold.
Still a little surprised that they would repeat a location.
Damn, wish I could go out. Seems too easy. Just follow the direction the torpedo points and dig. If it's not found by 930am I'll be out there digging like a madman. Next "login" - log.
I wish they had held tonight and tomorrow night's clues, and put out three clues for Wednesday. I can't see many people wanting or being able to go out in these temps.
..but what about all the von Schiller stuff; if he turns his head, he must "look" toward the torpedo? Or is it hiding between the way the torpedo points and the way von Schiller is looking. grrrr again
...and the stars. I keep thinking sub memorial to von schiller to something to something makes a "star" shape and in the middle is a log. I think my brain is frozen from shoveling.
And that area was pretty well dug up when I was out there on Friday. All this blowing and drifting snow has probably covered up the previous accomplishments.
Well which way does a torpedo point? The front of a torpedo is curved and the back of it is pointed, so it really could be either towards the lake or away from it?
I drove by the torpedo on my way back from Gabe's. I would guess around 50 people digging there around 11:20. If it really is between the torpedo and the lake I would expect it to be found soon. Although the hunters were all around the torpedo and not necessarily in line with it.
Unless it is possible that when they say the torpedo points towards the medallion, they mean the back end of it points towards it and it's really back on the other side of Lexington. If so, then the hunt will go to Tuesday at least.
Also, is it saying that it is in a "log" but that "log" is "submerged in the snow"? I take the word submerged to mean totally covered and/or hidden. Not partially.... Plus how has tech changed this annual gig?? I have not even been able to get on the PiPress website most nights and had to rely on the paper clues.
I normally do not post because I think my noodles are too far out there, but c'mon....this CW has had us in Como from day one and we are now going from Schiller to the torpedo which, I know I am short, however, I cannot see the torpedo from where Schiller is located.
The clue said "remembrance for those who died below" not "the names below", meaning that the torpedo is the object that represents those who died below, that's how i read it at least
If you look down towards the lake, there is a "life raft" that is hanging on a tree and it is in between two Thin Ice signs. I took that to mean in Clue three the thing that is "quite handy". That lines up pretty well with the torpedo.
That is all I got for tonight. Good Luck Everyone!!
I betcha that the whole Rainbow thing was just a clue for the park, the Rainbow Run that happened there over the summer, after all, that was from a very early clue when the park was still very much up for grabs. I really don't think it's across the other side of the lake. I also think that Schiller should be somewhat visible from where the medallion is, since he's said to be "glaring" at it.
I'm inclined to agree with you Mike. I'm starting to think the pointing is done from the tail end and that it is actually on the other side of Lexington in a spot where I think the clues all fit much better. Maybe I'll give a shot at digging there tomorrow.
3: The two arched bridges behind the trolley station. I had a "this is it" feeling on Friday when I realized it. It's frustrating that I was poking around in the area on Friday just getting my gauges set and not really digging. I probably stepped on the dang thing!
That is a pretty good noodle, dogma. I was convinced there was a "thin ice" sign nearby. That is why we were checking out the frog pond the one day we ran into you. We have the niece and nephews over today because school is cancelled so it is not looking good for us to get back 2day. Bummer.
I got this. I ain't afraid of no -35 degree weather. Bring it on! :crying: The CW can SUCK IT! :lipsealed:. Here's a hint: Draw a line in front of the "stars" of the Como Conservatory threw the statue and past Lexington, then draw another line with the Torpedo TOWARDS Lexington, X marks the spot baby.
Well - now I don't have to go out in -35 degree weather! I was just about to get dressed and leave. Bummer. But Damn, I bet I was right on with the spot. I knew it was towards Lexington and then when I saw that the stars and the statue could mark an X with a line from the torpedo, I knew it had to be around that area. Oh well. I'm kind of hoping it wasn't there otherwise I'll think "what if" lol.
Not sure if it was found there or not, but there are four "stars" (star-like at least) right outside the conservatory, on Aida PL on the pavement (google map it), if you draw a line in the middle of those threw Schiller's statue it will eventually intersect with a line from the Torpedo and that's where I was going to search.

Goodnight and SCDs.
Don't expect a find tonight, this is clue 9.
