Fanfare! I am back!! So glad to be back here after attempting to be FB only last year. I can't believe they haven't posted the Deed is Done yet! Based on my assumptions last year, its a old married couple doing it and they are old school.
Heading out to try to buy a button. Dammit, I promised myself I wouldn't wait until the last minute this year. Actually, someone (not from the Cooler Crew) offered to pick up buttons for me, and apparently she forgot). At least I got my Able Minds renewed early this year and didn't have to beg Mark to keep me active while the check was in the mail.
So, as the dad of an almost four year old, I sometimes have to drive about town if I want him to nap. He is a car sleeper. So, today, on the way home from the new Zoo, I came by way of Hwy 13, to Smith, to Montreal, to home. Fun to be in park recon mode again. Cherokee, and Highland still have snow. And Ira Glass makes children sleep.
I would say that "copied from the Pioneer Press or printed from TwinCities.com" Is what is different...the rest remain the same.
Would of loved it to be a Zep clue but......

So we are driving and am shuffleing through sirus xm- rags to riches is a Elvis Presley song. Newell park- hid in a Elvis 45 wasn't it? I get rags meaning ragsdale but maybe it's also a double meaning?
That would be great if 8 years later they come out and formally admit the Level clue.
"With humor and wit, clues cleverly writ" reminds me so much of Cleveland - level Without trying to sound to Hubris, it does sound like a nod to me and level.
FROG POND!
Plus, we just bought our buttons today!
welcome to the boards
Saint Paul emerges from wintry sleep to search for treasure buried deep.
Notice to every hunting battalion: We have hidden the Pioneer Press medallion.
Where you ask in husky shout?
ThatÂ’s for us to know and you to find out.
Hear out that too leave your hovel, grab your walking stick and shovel.
Whether you be giant or runt, the only way is to join the hunt.
Oh - to the hunter belongs the spoil. Hunt by day or midnight oil.
Hunt in boot and sturdy glove, hunt with pal or own true love.
For you who hunt each and every year, we raise a lusty saint Paul cheer:
Good Luck!
And now, let us be blunt, get off thy duff and hunt! Hunt! HUNT!
Punctuation and phrasing are my own.
For a master who kept us in stitches.
With humor and wit, clues cleverly writ
Led many from Rags to riches.
The rules of the game, remain much the same--
Both inside the box and out,
Public property bound, don't dig in the ground.
Golf courses: Don't cast about."
Capital R on Rags for Ragsdale's clues leading to the treasure (riches).
"Inside the box and out" -- St. Paul and Ramsey County.
Wouldn't be a surprise if the puck was wrapped in a remnant of
a St. Paul t-shirt or some other piece of local memorabilia.
Baked in a Peep's pie would be appropriate but the green donut fiasco
would prohibit that. Maybe stuck to a Ventura for governor poster.
Away we go!

Perhaps a lake where you can fish would be nearby. "cast"

Way too long of a wait for the next clue. They said Rags liked to torment us....
Tony Bennett is more famous for the recording of Rags to Riches, but it was also recorded by others including Elton John and Elvis.
There was a movie and a musical comedy on NBC that ran for 2 years in 1987 and 1988.
Yes the line about cleverly writ did make me think it may be a nod to Level. Especially since level is in cleverly as well.
