Me too! I remember your post about the blankets we found! You saw em 1st then i found 'em...I also was on that other side of round on #11 for a bit along with all around the pump house. I walked by that pit a lot, but didn't want to go there untill it said I had to. I did check a couple of the downed trees on the side of the hill on Sat 3am in the blizzard. Just didn't want to go to far in then. I had a feeling though...
I even looked where it was actually found and didn't find it! Then the clues led me away to the pump house. I actually looked where it really was on clue#6. I was convinced the "take a stand" was trees you could see from the fire ring. Wrong interpretation, but I was there!
Eags, you're such a love! I love how you're not telling folks about the e-gram I sent you about BC... You were so sweet to say, "That's good noodling, green!" :D
You can tell them now, iffin' you want. Pretty funny! LOL!!!
Yeah. I was SURE it was BC. So sure... Until #9. Oh, well! This year I had eight 'right' clues under my belt. The year it was MOVED to Newell FROM Failin', I only got six 'right' clues under my belt! So, I improved a bit. LOL!!!
I have to laugh at myself. I do crack myself up - I'm SUCH an IDIOT! At the time I'm noodling the clues, they seem so concrete and really. So on the mark. So perfect and I'm so sure I'm right. Then - WHAM! Hit with a brick bat and I think - "How could I have been so wrong?"
I have so much fun watching the different takes on the clues - the different perspectives. How people read the clues and what they get out of them. How the same clue appears different ways to different people.
Even with no sighting clues, I did do pretty well this year: One clue right, in the correct park prior to when The Med was found, and actually *in* the park when it was found. I think that's the second or third time for that. So, maybe I'm starting to get somewhere!
I'm thinking about slapping a password on there. Not sure I want lurkers to have access to all our stuff once it's done. Kinda gives people a reason to come out of lurkdom. I'll put it up to a vote though. Tons o time before we have to worry about it.
Ter... You are VERY GOOD at noolding! Yuppers! It was when you put out the APB! I e-gramed Eags and said, "No, no, no! Ittiz at BC," and told her - I think - about The Honey Wagon (looks fondly at jar o'honey sitting next to Personal Soap Box...) and all.
Sounds to me more like a "Hey!" ride of heterosexual WOMEN! LOL!!!
The Honey Wagon? Well... Back when they had 'night soil men' (men that went around and cleaned out the outhouses - the Victorians would NEVER call it $h!t!!!), they also had "honey wagons." These guys would go along and scoop the horse poop. And put honey on it sos it wouldn't smell as bad.
Well... Bock then. All the folks from the EAST and WEST sides o'town would just toss this stuff into Father of All Rivers. Yup. And on the EAST side, they'd toss it off the cliffs there.
And that's how I got THAT to fit BCR - Battle Creek Regional Park. I read it was done either near Mounds *and*/*or* near BC.
I mean, LOOK at that xplination! Ittiz Millett-esque, izzit NOT? He'd have come up with something like that.
The pots that people put under their beds and used during the night were referred to as "honey pots" too. I have the one that was in my mother's room when she was growing up.
Hey Eags!
I had the clue that screamed Phalen - the wintry crop.
Yes I did. I posted "area=region"
I was a little slower on some others though
I was so busy keeping an open mind and thinking of all possibilities that I was surprised how quickly I jumped when it was time to jump.
and they were already posted by the time I got home to read this
then went BC and then back to phalen. Shoulda stuck to my guns..
The pranked thing is what kept us all guessing for longer than we normally would I think.
Could this be the ultimate prank?
Could it really be Como?
Could it be outside the city limits?
Made for craziness.
some one was keeping that a secret!
Yeah...and then it seemed too early to be given away like that so was it a prank or was it real.
20/20 hindsite says real. But we didn't know that then did we?
We sure didn't know and it felt like a prank. Last year's 11th clue jump to Como made us all gun shy.
haha 3M I was over on that side for 3 days of the hunt. Dummy me, I had walked right past the mosh pit on that really cold friday evening.

We did alright this year.
We somehow ended up at the north end of the park following some sort of reasoning that escapes me now.
I figure I won when I got to the right park. To be in the right section of the right park was gravy. Anything else would have made for richer gravy.
There have been years when we were at the wrong park when it was found.
We looked down in that pit more than once - but I wasn't going there. Resembled the romp in the woods at Como and there was no way!

Thats what I thought too.
That kinda why I had the feeling it was the same thing as como. Then I convinced my self that they wouldn't do that. DOAH!!!
see ya all later!
You musta picked a movie. Enjoy!

I've already written to the Ramsey County web master and asked for permission to link to the site that that. Hopefully there will be no issues.
I'm planning on setting something up like this for every city in Ramsey county as well.
Input etc welcome and wanted.

I bet I know when that was too...when I put out an APB for Eags to call me sos maybe we could meet up and hunt that Sunday. Too funny!
OTS - That is super! Good to have those resources at our fingertips.

I think you're right. We have time. Not many lurkers around between now and the next hunt anyways.

What's "snese"? Clappsed knees?
Clappsed knees? OMG...I don't think I want to go there! How much can we say before we get censored here??? ;o)

I don't know, Eags... They're pretty liberal here... I see the FIRE TRUCK word flying around all over the place.
For the LIFE o'me, I can no longer type "place." It comes out "palace" every time.
G'Oldie... Well... I don't keep MY honey pot under the bed! No, SIRREE!
Close.
I'm not posting it.. no no no... would probably make someone mad at me....
