No, I'm not, Wolfpac. I'm just not convinced they'd send folks into the realm of gay men, syringes, dangerous ledges, and the angry owners o'the marina. I'm just not convinced - though I cannot argue with the Clues and those that have noodled Crosby - that ittiz in Crosby.
It makes me nervous. Though I'll admit what others have noodled is far better than what I have. But I'm just wavering still. I'm not 100%, gut-feeling, believe in the Clues yet.
One thing I do really feel/believe, izz that *this* Clue is not Highland related. Meaning for those that think Highland or Crosby - the Clue's much more Crosby than Highland. I'd think this clue would rule out Highland.
But if it does, and ittiz *not* a White Christmas... Then if not Crosby? What park? I'm still twisting things to fit Bat Creak, but...
Well... Maybe this isn't my year for finding my acorn... LOL!!!
Scribe, the last clue really suggests something far more wildnerness. Yes, a lot of parks have wild areas, but the clue points to an area where it is both wild, and with paths through the wilderness. Como, Palace, and other such parks don't meet the test--if you find lichens in Como, you really went off the path.Â
Hidden Falls, sure. It certainly could be there. Highland I'm liking a lot less--if it is there, it is on the North side of Montreal off of Antonio. Â
Here is the thing - The only reason we were so thrown by the Como/Harriet Island hunt a few years ago is that we couldn't imagine it was at Como again. However, if you figured out clue three (wide as triple E), you would have known it was at Como.
I just don't think it can be anywhere else than Crosby.
What about the possiblity that clue 4 is telling us to stay out of the place we want to go. It's telling you that the "sirens" are telling you that the treasure is down there.... When it isn't.....
Odysseus was mislead by the "Sirens"
Don't read it as a clue.... read it more like the clue writer is telling you a story.
The siren calls, the giant falls 'tween field generals the poet sings That down beyond the once blue pond Is treasure fit for kings
I'm not gonna fight it. If anyone wishes, bring wood down there and I will see to it a fire burns for 4 days and 4 nights to keep us warmed and honor my father in a Sioux Indian way. I have some birch.
Dan can make all the clues fit IM- We are at a stalemate.
Stretch here....as much as I like Crosby.... if you take a look at the clues again....
Most of them can be telling us over and over again that that in fact it's not at Crosby
Snow we have missed much, this not very white Christmas
Made all of use think Crosby... but it does say Not very white Christmas
Be safe and we pledge, neither cliff nor water's edgeFigures in your hunting pursuit
This could very well be the clue writer telling us again that it's not crosby... Perhaps there are no lakes and no cliffs at all in the right park. But we are noodling that to mean there are no cliffs or waters edges near the medallion.
And what about the possiblity that clue 4 is telling us to stay out of the place we want to go most.
If we follow all the information that tells us clearly thats where want to go.... we are going to be mislead?
Ok...Sorry about that.... going into panic mode and starting to second guess things..... These clues just seem to "simple".
I might be totally off base and I still like Crosby I mean it fits!.... I only wish I had an alternative.

To me it's like Phalen. They gave away the park quite early, but under their breath were saying- "good luck finding it" I'm gonna stick with Crosby. Even if one of the next clues says plainly that it's in a different park, I'm gonna keep looking at Crosby :P
OTis...that's an interesting thought about the story. The siren calls (the clue), the giant falls (the big group of us)
But if you keep going, it's saying that the poet is singing to us between the field generals that down beyond the once blue pond is where the treasure is. It's the poet we're listening to, not the sirens.
BUT it could be that we all got sucked into what the clue (the siren) was telling us that lead us to the poet...and it's really telling us something else.
OKAY....soo...I'm still going to go digging at Crosby. I love conspiracy theories, but I'm gonna go with the simplest explanation on this one.
Anythin stick out in anybody's mind about the whereabout in Crosby yet? I read the prairie sign but no light bulbs went off. Me and my girlfriend will be out there tomorrow in the afternoon
Ok...I'm officiall "off" the crosby bandwagon again....damn you all....
here for 4 days' I'm thinkin' its just too easy!!!!
why are being stubborn....Like I said...I would never make it the park name by just
"white christmas" ....talk about being just overall LAME!!! I would not be proud of that at all!!!!
But this is kinda like this..... don't search google images for "smell skank"....what are you going to do?? Listen to me....nah...your going to go an look...just because its killing you and you want to look......
so...I'm back at frog pond....ya its a sad thing to day Dec.24th and a guy was killed and write that into a clue ...(family would be really upset about that)
KT, I think that's honorable to honor your father (and us!) with a fire and I will grab some wood off of my wood pile at home to help you.
I also agree that it's like Phalen...they're just going to say Crosby, Crosby, Crosby, over and over until clue 12 and then they're going to nail us with some long ass explanation of all the paces and markers. I HOPE to be wrong about that, but something (like the vastness of the park) tells me that's kind of unlikely.
Homer - All we know with comparative certainty about the author of the Odyssey is that he (or she or they) lived some 2700 years ago. By tradition in ancient times, Homer was a blind bard, one of the minstrels who recited long poemsabout heroes of a bygone age
Maybe the movie Troy got the clue writers going on this Greek/Trojans trip.....
That night, while the Trojans slept,Odysseusand his men emerged from the horse's belly. Opening the city gates, they admitted their comrades, who had snuck back in the dark.
This happen prior to his return and his encounters with the Sirens
I think the place for hikin' is the football field across the street from Highland Park. Or a football field somewhere. Lots of football clues. If you want to interpret them as such. Field Generals, Lichen=Moss, Hikin'
don't be mixing your drinks until the hunt is over!
gotcha
No park for me either. Little one isn't feeling well. So we'll rest up today.
Pay me will be at the PP tomorrow night and then will follow the hunting party....
Saturday night is all me :)
anyone else going to crosby? i'm on my way after i leave here in a minute.
like i said. i'm the girl in a red coat and stipped hat.. call me Erica!~

Well, if you want to go the decoy route...you may as well add HF to your list too.
Personally, going down that path, I can fit all the clues to Como and Palace (:) as well.
No night hunting at Crosby for me and the wife either.
That it get you close to crosby but all clues generally also line up for a park DIRECTLY NORTH OF THERE -
beatles helter skelter says....
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again.
Do you, don't you want me to love you
I'm coming down fast BUT I AM MILES ABOVE YOU
Tell me tell me tell me come on tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.
Â
HIGHLAND LOOKS GOOD TOO ME! I am baked yes I ALWAYS AM!
It looks good " to " me i mean
No specfic "fire" clue that fits Highland though...unless it refers to the grills by the pts...but I think thats a stetch.
I won't sleep well until they say the park is in St Paul.Â
I like the Motley Crue version better, Randy.Â

This thought just in...
Burns was a poet *and* a general...

Otay... Back to the MTC signs.
You mean Ambrose BurnSIDE?
Whoops.
Back to my history reading... LOL!!!

I think Leela has it nailed there regarding the Como/Harriet confusion.
To me it's like Phalen. They gave away the park quite early, but under their breath were saying- "good luck finding it"
I'm gonna stick with Crosby. Even if one of the next clues says plainly that it's in a different park, I'm gonna keep looking at Crosby :P
Yeah Search. I like it. ;)
I agree with Leelabell too.....my question is where is the triple E in these clues. The one thing that really stands out the most?

By the way... the author of Odysseus was named Homer

DAMMIT!
Hehe. Told ya Search!
If you go that route, OTiS, we've lots o'Trojan horses in the Clues...Â
I posted that siren's lure thing in the main thread this morning, but no one has picked up on it yet. Or at least they haven't commented.
That hurt my brain.....
Don't hate me :)
might want to remove it OT...its just tooo goood....
Thanks OT for getting me going down that road.
I didn't steal it from here, Kitch
This was earlier today.
but....here's my take...
granted....a lot of clues could say...NOT CROSBY...but now...where are the clues in the clues that we need....
do we need to start over???
back to reading the entire thread...because of what people might have said since day one...what did we miss.....
I didn't steal it from here, Kitch
This was earlier today.
Â
I know you didn't.......

I thought you thought I was posting stuff from here.  Sorry
If the writer didn't want us in Crosby why didn't he just say so in the rules instead of having most of the clues point there?
If the writer didn't want us in Crosby why didn't he just say so in the rules instead of having most of the clues point there?
Whats the fun in that?
Cuz they're sneaky that way. ;)
If the writer didn't want us in Crosby why didn't he just say so in the rules instead of having most of the clues point there?
but DO they point there?? most of the clues are telling you NOT to do something...
