Finally done slogging, and got one thought in my head. Surprised nobody brought it up yet, but if it's at crosby, why doesn't the first clue at least say it's in a Saint Paul Park... doesn't that seem a little odd? If I was the cluewriter, and knew crosby would make for a long hunt anyways due to its size, why shouldn't I tell people it's in Saint Paul?
kc.. not if they wanted to toy around w/ppl and throw them off... there really weren't a lot of ppl there last night... not as many as I thought there'd be!
I'll be at the paper tonight.... providing I get my check in the mail tdy, if not.. I won't be out til tmrw because I have no cash and not a lot of gas in the truck :(
lol I should start a donate to Mystical's Po Broke Ass fund.. roflmao
I agree with Greg that the comma before helter skelter is suspicious. It's like it's meant to give some added importance to the phrase, but it's not clear what. Is it in a tape case for the White Album? Does it refer to the lyrics of the song which mention sliding? Does it refer to Charles Manson somehow? I don't know.
The other thing that bothers me is the fact they said "a prize" as opposed to "the prize" or "our prize". Maybe the prize you earn is not the treasure, but rather something like 1st prize, 2nd prize, or maybe...hmmmm
It just seems weird is all, I'm going over old clues and seeing how often it's been hidden in St. Paul and St. Paul hasn't been mentioned in the clues...
Yes I know, they can play around and try to get people to think it's not in St. Paul by not saying it.
okay looking over the lod clues, looks like they don't always mention it's in St Paul when it is.. Still, with the size of the area to be searched I'm not sure why they didn't want to at least remove the doubt of it even being there.
Another thought. Mr. Med's book is out this year, giving people easy access to old clues. The PP knows about it, shoot, they've helped advertise it, anyone seen the mention of him being there to sign books Friday evening? Perhaps they're using old clue references in a small effort to promote the book after the hunt...
hello again. back from crosby. a few people.. more and more as the day goes on. i dug around that fallen tree FOREVER. man. didn't see too many things that stuck out. lots of people near that big shelter. seems a little fruitless right now... until something hones in further.
OT, that's what I've been thinking. A trunk, field, line, path - all words for 'branch.' And I can get path/path to fit branch and a place for hikin', but not for lichen.
What if ittiz "likin'"? Would that make any difference?
Allison, I've been noodling that "the" prize thing for hours here. Ittiz definitely "a" prize vs. THE Prize. But other than getting a prize like a touch down on a hikin' field, I'll be damned if I can noodle any kind'a prize from lichen and branch...
The siren calls, the giant falls 'Tween field generals the poet sings
Ok, trying to nap and noodles are dancing in my head. This clue would perfectly fit a tornado, knocking down a huge tree, onto a football field or a street with significant general names.
Clues and my gut feelings of thast its at HIGHLAND
too many caveats to NOT think so --- I think the clues put you in the area of crosby sure but so many caveats thrwon in there to make me like the song says " miles ABOVE you- which highland is what 1.7-2,2 miles ABOVE crosby...
This hunt has started to ruin my life. My wife thinks I am crazy and has since moved in with her parents. Work hasn't heard from me in days and I think I am getting a rash from the stress.

The comma before and after "helter skelter" are grammatically correct. So I'm not as inclined to think there's something suspicious about it.

no didn't hear it on here, a little bird told me ;)
Crosby, BC and HP are all still on the radar. It would just be very weird if they gave away the park with such a easy clue like "white christmas"
so have you noodled anywhere this may have occured?
Â
You've ruined my fun
Wanna real stretch?
Siren - Faye Raye.
There's a Faye street by BC.
But no King Kong.
This hunt has started to ruin my life. My wife thinks I am crazy and has since moved in with her parents. Work hasn't heard from me in days and I think I am getting a rash from the stress.

peter- that sounds a little extreme. maybe you need to take a step back and remember it's just for fun.
