Hey OTS - When are you guys going to get a digital box that can be force-tuned or programed? I know you're coming out with the DVR's soon or might already have them but I didn't want to pay a TIVO type premium just so I can tape different channels while I'm at work. I have the digital box now and it's pretty much useless for me. It just sits there taking up space. I can watch MTV2 on it anyway.
Why do I see a new Comcast thread starting up? ;-)
Oh, and thank you for doing your part to help inform those CS people of yours. Good job!
The DVR system in Philly is up and running. We are due to have them in the Twin cities market anytime. I'm going to be beta testing a unit at my home as a matter of fact. I don't know what the price on these will be but i'm told it's nothing compared to Tivo. I'll keep you posted.
Well, THX... You can do that because you're a weenie tech guru and know all that innards kind'a stuff! Dumb bunnies like me have to pay the bucks.
I'm one'a those kind'a folks that xpect my putter to be like the light switch on the wall: I don't care how it works, I just want it to work each and every time I flick the switch.
FWIW, and if I'm not dreaming or hallucinating... I thought the Comcast CS guy said it was only like $5.00/month to have your putters networked. And it was somehow done through the phone line. Nobuddy had to come out to do it! (Or am I on another planet here and getting things confused, as I usually do????)\
I know, I was there takin pics this morning ;) I'll post em tonight, wish I could here at work though... doh well..
Oh, the vulcans were there, beat on the ice palace with some bats before the backhoe went to work, guy I was standing next to shouted "Hey Mayor" when the mayor was about ready to get in the backhoe to take the first swing at it. I just missed the shot of the mayor waving at us. D'oh!
got my comcast internet in.....i about crapped..the guy left without it working yet....and then I see this page SAS...no access.. or something like that....
I just remembered that SAS could have been bad....shut down..back up...everything worked good....
holy crap that is fast...now i'm going to have to fork out this kinda money every month....
hey anyone know of a fast, easy, and CHEAP way of taking wall paper glue off of walls? I gotta help a friend of mine.. and I dunno how or wut to do! :\
ok here's the bad thing tho.. lol last time I helped this person wall paper.. I think I got more of the glue on me... then on the wall and the wall paper... wonder if that'll happen this time too. lol
You could just go at it with a hammer, that would take the glue right off, I guess that would take the wall right off too, but hey, you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs, right?
oh sure...OTS and a comcast thread...why didnt he tell me i could have gotten FREE McAfee Personal Firewall Plus Offers Protection for One Year.* With my sign up....i'm hoping i didnt screw this offer up.......(i downloaded a free 1 month) alrdy.
ya i know I can get those for free.....I'm not too concerned.... I just always looking for a deal...thought I'd do a trial run to see what it offers and why sooo great to be that expensive vs. zonealarm

Yes, beware of large drills! They went right through my carpet and hardwood floor! Must have been a better way, but I was to stupid to ask questions.

Big Medallion Hunt thread 66k Joe!
DOH!
Can I have the guy do my laptop so its wireless in my house or do i have to do that myself???
Comcast charges extra for extra computers hooked up, so do it yourself.
That's one complaint I have about Comcast. Where do they get off thinking they can charge extra for extra computers? Like $57.95 a month isn't enough!
So I just run it through a router that spoofs the MAC on my main PC, and hook up the other PC's.
I just bought Scribble a laptop, and should get the wireless router today.

At any rate, Marnin, 'Heads!!!
I'm waiting for that Comcast thread to start lol....
Beats the hell outta 'The QWest' thread - may they go belly up.

Yes, I probably know a bit more than you which makes it a little bit easier, but I simply follow the printed instructions just like everyone else.
:-)
Or ask the guy who sells it to you :)
Or ask the guy who sells it to you :)
That can be a problem if you order everything online.
And if you buy it at Best Buy or the like, they don't know squat usually!
I don't know how many times I've stomped out of there because of those teenagers they got working for em.

THX - we do the same thing; have three computers on the network, 2 are wireless
Last night, Scribe and I went to get our taxes done. We had the boys with us.
Our tax guy happens to be in the building that Downtown Dave lives in.
So, we're leaving and we're discussing what we should do for dinner.
I said, lets call Downtown Dave and see what he suggests and see if he wants to join us.
Just as I pull my phone out, here comes Downtown Dave walking down the hallway.
He said he had already eaten, so he didn't join us.
The snotty little jerk!
:-)
So, where do you eat?
It sucked!
I wanted to go out, but everyone else just wanted to pick something up and go home.
:-(
I still like their new commercial about bringing in a coupon. "Beware of paper cuts".
Actually, it wasn't bad. Just wasn't good. Not what I wanted...
hahaha ok OTS that pig is kinda scary.. it looks like it's gonna jump thru the monitor and bite you or something!
palace should be coming down soon

And that's all I know about wall paper glue.
well someone told me about vinigar and hot water.. but I dunno if I can stand the smell of that stuff.... yech!
You need a scriber, a spray bottle with warm water and a putty knife. That should do it.
ok here's the bad thing tho.. lol last time I helped this person wall paper.. I think I got more of the glue on me... then on the wall and the wall paper... wonder if that'll happen this time too. lol
That's less than 1/2 of what it is currently new, and about 1/3 of what I paid.
