Hey!!!! I just checked my mail and I got free tickets too:)

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 5:38 PM Permalink
OT

Yes search. I can't get into my email. It says, Cannot find server. Get on that, ok? ;)

OT I checked with the NOC. They have no issues with any of our systems. Did you try restarting your computer?

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 5:44 PM Permalink
OT

Not yet. I have some windows open that are kind of tricky getting into, so I'll wait and try tomorrow after I shut down tonight. Thanks for helping. I was teasing about getting right on it. You knew that, right?

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 5:47 PM Permalink
OTiS

Yes I know you were just teasing but it's really not any problem for me to check on thigs for you guys. Benifits persay.... Helps you avoid that dreaded 1-651-222-3333 number. I AM COMCAST!

Is this the standard response? They always say "it's not our fault!" After you spend 6 days working on your computer they suddenly say "oh, we found the problem now"

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 6:05 PM Permalink
OTiS

hmmmmm - No

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 6:06 PM Permalink
OTiS

Yeah I know... and honestly.. I know the customer service sucks there...

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 6:08 PM Permalink

Actually comcast is better than most in my opinion

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 6:09 PM Permalink

Search, at Comcast? NO!!!

Best customer service I've run into in my life. Really. And I told them so. I've Comcast digital phone, in preparation for the cable/computer stuff.

And those guys were THE BEST to deal with. I'm so glad to be done with Qwest. I hate those bas... Never mind! :D

OTiS

The problems "in my opinion" is that they don't teach people. They have them giving blanket answers about problems that they don't really understand. Customers pick up on the empty answers and know that while someone is working on the issue... the person they are speaking to clearly has no clue about whats going on.

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 6:11 PM Permalink

Oh.

I never felt that way. At any time. They seemed really informed and very, very helpful.

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 6:15 PM Permalink

see ya all later!

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 6:17 PM Permalink
OTiS

Oh Green thats very kind of you to say..., Don't get me wrong.... They are learning. Since we moved to St Paul, I make it a mission to go downstairs and drag customer service reps up to the NOC and show them how the systems works. not the whole deal but give them an idea why we ask them for certain information and such. It's a long process. especially since we are dealing with Cable, phone and internet. Three diffrent systems that all start seperate, travel together and then seperate again. Lots of thigns can happen. We are also in charge of taking care of the West and south sides of Michigan as well as the South Bend IN area.

Nite, Mikey. Later.

Search, the more you do that, the better Comcast's CS will be. DON'T STOP!!!!

OTiS

You said you were dealing with telephony people? hmmmmmm Maybe you got someone attached to my department ;)

It is good to know you had a pleasent experience. The whole point is for the service to work perfectly and have the customer happy happy happy. I mean you are paying out the butt for it!

OK. I have my email back. Now about those holes the service guys drilled through my carpet and hardwood floors. lol

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 7:04 PM Permalink

Ummmm Were they Contractors?

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 7:06 PM Permalink

Regaring scarves/caps/hats/whatever.

I like the idea of skull caps, that we can actually wear "Out in the field". With "Cooler Crew" & logo of some sort, but also our usernames sewn in.

Just my two cents.

It's no big deal search. Just giving you a hard time. It hurt at the time, but I don't even see it now so it's ok. But they had to work at it! These old floors are hard and thick.

Yeah, wouldn't that be cooler?

I don't know how much a thing like that would cost, but I'm guessing most are like me and would be willing to spend the money.

OTS - Mr. Comcast - I have a question for you. When getting my email from the web, there's an option to report checked email as spam. When a person does that, what happens?

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 8:46 PM Permalink
KITCH

oh geez...now i'm a little concerned ...why did you have to bring up bad storys about the comcast install for internet...it just so happens i have an install at 9-11am on tmrw......

in regards to the stuff that everybody is getting from PP...i wonder if they are sending all that out to the registred button owners ..if so I should be gettin' mine in the mail....
I was at the "event" for the 1k drawning for and signed up for that...but the MONDAY nite event I went but didn't see the sign up table after got paper so went home....then I found out they said something about it after most have alrdy left.......

But it seems like you all must have signed up.......oh well at least I have an PP headband....

I think the scarf is cool ...but I'd like to see a headband or hat instead....I just don't think I'd like wearing a scarf and digging...or i'd think its tooo girly...(sorry don't know a better word at this time) but I don't see it.

It's my understanding that clicking the spam button simply tags the address. The network has a system in place that basically scans for that address the email was sent from along with the subject line etc and somehow sorts it. I'll ask one of the HSI weenies here the specifics and let you know.

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 9:27 PM Permalink
Terry

Thanks OTS!

Kitch - as long as you're around when they are there and make sure they don't do something stupid like drill through your hardwood floors, it should be okay. Some of those guys are better than others. Just keep an eye on them and don't assume they know exactly what they are doing. Ask questions.

And be sure to check that you actually have broadband service before you let them leave!! When we got installed, we didn't check first and they forgot to do something out on the pole. It took them three more days before they could make another appointment to come out.

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 9:38 PM Permalink
KITCH

trust me I won't let them leave....

Tue, 02/17/2004 - 9:42 PM Permalink
OTiS

Also.... Kitch... look outside and see if the tech is a Comcast tech or a newage contractor.

If they are installing HSI service, make sure your up and running. They have to so something called a SAS registration. It's run on the Comcast intranet and if you aren't registered correctly it can appear that you aren't hooked up.

I'll check your modem out when I get into work tommorow night.
