Cool, there's the Post office in the center. All those train tracks are now my parking lot for work.

but isn't the city gonna move the postoffice for the depot? do you know where you're getting moved to and when that postoffice bldg is gonna get torn down? Its got an awesome view of down river and up river - what floor are you on?

I'm on the 4th floor.

As far as I know we are moving to Eagan and the building is going to stay. I think the building might be on some historical registers (not sure). They would probably remove the dock attactment. They would do a transit center where the trains would pull in and back out. (That's how it used to work years ago) Someone brought an old picture to work of what it looked like. Similar to the one above. As you can see from that picture all the train tracks with the builking still there. Right now there is only one track that goes behind the building.

Our move to Eagan isn't going to happen for at least 5 years. I'm guessing 10. The St. Paul Processing and Distrubution Center would be put next to the Bulk Mail Facility.

OT, you need to go. I dragged my parents there a few years ago and while they were a little nervous at first, they had the time of their life.

I used to go all the time because hubby worked there and commuted back to here. Right now, hotel rooms are very expensive (Christmas is high tourist season) but if you go at a more rainy time (like March) it isn't as bad.

All great pictures Joel!! You took me right back there. Same time of year too. Was that WTC 7 almost done? That was the new building on the north end of the site. Did you take the subway? I know they stopped allowing cameras and video equipment down there just after I was there. I gotta make it out there again. Especially the beginning of December. Too cool.

This baby deserves another posting. It's fantastic!

I agree with that shot -its a beautiful sky

I thought the Spirit of St Louis was at the Mpls/St Paul Airport -Lindbergh terminal -guess not

Hayden Planetarium (Saw a show while I was there, pretty cool, would be nice to see a planetarium built here again).

Wasn't that planetarium used in a movie? I talked to someone who said supposedly the mpls library has the 'space' already saved for a new planetarium but it would cost millions.

Isn't there still a planetarium at como elementary school?

In the bonding session last year, a bunch of money was set aside for the planetarium, so we should be getting one in the next 5 years or so.
