I like Obb's too. They've sponsered my hubby's softball team for years. They're always gracious and welcoming. And the food is good and cheap.

I don't know about locations on regular clue nights, whatever is close to PP I guess. I may stop down after work some nights. I know a couple of years ago when I didn't know you guys had moved to Matty B's I stopped down at Great Waters and asked the bartender about you guys. He said to tell you all that they missed you and wanted you back.

What sucks about Great Waters was Liam (I think that's the name of the cool bartender) was the coolest but the rest of the staff was pretty uncool.

I bet you talked to the cool bartender.

Okay, this is about the funniest thing I've seen in a while (note, go through all 5 pages). There is a bare ass visible if it is a problem for you at work.

The problem with Great Waters is that it is run like a restaurant and not a bar. They don't know what to do with crowds of people. They don't want people milling about. They want people seated.

Pop!! is also open in DT and I highly recommend the food. But, again, it is a restaurant.

He is looking for a flat screen monitor and will be posting later to see if anyone has one for him to use that night...

Headed to OBBS now to go over seating and area arrangement. They said they would try and get our sign made for us to display at the top of the stairs showing people where to go. That should help a bit.

Just called lilman. He needs a flat panel monitor that can fit on his DJ booth. Thanks for the offer of the laptop, but he only needs the monitor. His got damaged by someone.

My monitor was damaged new years eve need to get it fixed but if someone has one that I can borrow for sat night that would be great that way I don't have to bring a big ass monitor thanks to anyone that can help and see ya all on sat

I have a 19" Square monitor that has backlights that are pretty much burned out. It's dim as hell. The video still works on it. It's been freezing out in the garage for the last couple of months because I haven't tossed it yet. I dunno if you would bother with it - but if you keep the lights off it may be useable. No promises.

Sweet!! I think that Obbs will be a fun time. I am glad that Lilman can DJ. I was never a huge fan of Matty B's. Other than the locale, I think that it was nothing special. I really liked Obb's though, it has a great St. Paul neighborhood feel to it. Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend.

It was a decent meeting with the manager of OBBS tonight. He was more than enthusiastic about us making his place our place. We can design the room anyway we see fit. We will only be able to get our Cooler Crew discounts downstairs so please don't try and order something upstairs and say your with the CC or that they charge less downstairs because it's for us only and he really doesn't want the rest of the bunch upstairs wondering what the deal is with the downstairs pricing.

He also said that we can use the upstairs later on when the bar clears out a bit but I assume that we'll still need to go downstairs for the deals.

There is music through the regular ceiling speakers for before Lil sets up and a big screen TV if we wanted to watch NTFCF in the background. But we'll need to hook up our own DVD to play it on.

He did mention that we will need to police ourselves for any drunks or out-of-control craziness that might happen. We assured him we've never had an issue with that and that we would give them the same respect that we would want. He definitely wants us to have fun though.

There are pull tabs upstairs but not sure how late they're open. None of us had much luck tonight so we left the boxes all hot for you guys.

For those of you who haven't been downstairs before here's a shot of our group tonight where you can see some of it. It has a bar, restrooms and a dedicated private side entrance that goes directly downstairs for you smokers.

Any questions I might be able to answer?

All in all we each felt like we were home after leaving the place tonight and are really looking forward to this annual get-together.

Was thinking we were getting better -

Went to give her a hot shower tonight when she got sick again and fever came back with a vengance... she literally laid on my lap all day today, we just kept moving from room to room so I didn't go nuts...

I think hubby is staying home with her tomorrow as he took the floor in her room tonight (last night is was me)..

First off, hello to everyone again, finally back on the boards.

So Matty B's closed. I'd like to take a moment and gloat that I pulled a Nostracommonus and predicted they'd shut down before the start of this years hunt. Granted I had no idea they'd wait till a week before to do it, but still. Between the slow service, overpriced drinks (if you take away our discount) and the fact that they ran out of Coke and quarters on a weekend night, they were doomed for failure.

That's really all I have to say on that. I'm watching the snow fall from my office window and can wait to start digging in it to find that medallion! See you all at Obbs (and around here in the mean time)

You had me at Breast Tattoos! What a fortuitous series of events, as I just had the Judge Wapner tattoo removed from my left breast so there is room for another one. I was thinking of getting Emanuel Lewis because I was such a fan of "Webster", but the cooler crew logo will be much better!
