This is strictly for non-political, fun conversation. It's alot easier to discuss things with someone when you realize you have some common interests, fishing, music etc. Besides, lets face it, politics gets old sometimes too :) Enjoy, Please, NO flaming, name calling etc. Have some fun!

Romanian officers questioned 34-year-old woman Ruxandra Gardian and her female friend after witnesses say they saw her steal a cell phone in a restaurant.

Upon searching, the police found no evidence and was about to release her, but the owner insisted the pair had taken it, and suggested they call the number.

After a muffled ringing was heard coming from somewhere underneath the woman's skirt, the pair was taken into custody and strip-searched. And to an astonishment of the female officer, the NEC cell phone was found; in her intimate hiding place.

Officer Aurel Popescu commented, "I've seen a lot in my time as a policeman but never anything like this." The rightful owner has since filed an insurance claim, refusing to have it returned, saying it is damaged beyond repair.

"...her intimate hiding place".  There's a new euphemism.  Wonder if it will catch on?

I have an NEC cell phone. If she didn't want it to ring she should have set it on the "Vibrate" function.

I think at 17 or 18, I'd consider a kid who said he was a Marxist to be rather healthy and open minded.

You would.

"You would."

I don't know what that means.

What is it about an open-minded, idealistic 18-year-old that scares you? Is it a spirit you can't tame? Fire in the belly?

The point of the link was...

All you have to do is read a bit of his own work to see what sort character he is.

Not a man to be respected.

Nuff said.

Come on Bill Fold, you know how to use the computer. You've got time on your hands. Prove to me he's not a Marxist. I and others have provided you with plenty.

You've just got a fat head, thick skull, and never admit you're wrong.

Not once!

At the very least you should admit he's a horseshit historian. He openly and proudly admits he presents a slanted, one sided view of history.

He's said he's interested in Marxism and read a lot about Karl Marx. Does that make him a Marxist? Simply taking an interest in a political/social idea, that like it or not, shaped much of world culture in the 19th and 20th centuries?

If I decided to read Mein Kampf, does that make me a Nazi?

"Have you read his stuff, Rick?"

Just what I've read here. Given the forces that have come out against Dr. Zinn here, I'm inclined to think that he's not quite the demon that he's been portrayed and he's truly somewhere in between the two extremes.

I have no idea about his divinity.

How can you dislike someone you don't even know? He might be kind to his mother and animals.

Don't give me that. You dislike plenty of people you've never met, if that's what you mean by "knowing" him?

Trust me, I've read enough Howard Zinn to know him. I'm sure I've read more of him than you and Bill Fold combined.

I find it funny you judge him based on my opinion.

You are such a fucking cry-baby. I have never said whether he was or wasn't. YOU made the accusation, and I have asked you ONLY to prove it. You haven't.

LOL

Come on Bill Fold. We have proven it. You're just too thick headed and/or stupid.

I and other have provided links to the evidence. His own fucking words for God's sake!

Admit you're wrong, and that Zinn is a Marxist and a horseshit historian.

I guess you know more about me than I know about myself.

Two words for you, Rick. "Mr. Smoothy".

Now stop being slimey and admit you're just like me, and make judgements on people you don't "know".

Actually, it was Sen. Smoothy, but I've stopped calling him that since his vote on ANWR.

If you recall, I had more compliments for Norm Coleman than you did.

Awright: Time to break the cycle of anger with a little number by Tom T. Hall:

I love little baby ducks, old pick-up trucks, slow-moving trains, and rain
I love little country streams, sleep without dreams, Sunday school in May,

And hay
And I love you too

I love leaves in the wind, pictures of my friends, birds in the world, and squirrels
I love coffee in a cup, little fuzzy pups, bourbon in a glass,

And grass
And I love you too

I love honest open smiles, kisses from a child, tomatoes on the vine, and onions
I love winners when they cry, losers when they try, music when it’s good,

And life
And I love you too

There's some talented country songwriters, logic dictates that. But someone sitting in an office is telling them they have to dumb down their music.

Like most people, my husband and I have fallen in love with the Texas Hill Country. We do a lot of one- and two-day driving trips, occasionally longer ones.  We've covered most everything east of Midland. No argument that the Hill Country is beautiful. But we haven't seen West Texas and the Big Bend.

I would say, however, that the Palo Duro Canyon rivals the Hill Country for beauty, although of a different kind entirely. Have you been up there, Bill?

24 is coming up. I've been watching it every week. Vastly entertaining, in it's own way. But I can't help but wonder what sort of catharsis it is for some viewers.

Jack Bauer careens through episode after episode, blowing away Muslims four or five at a clip. Hiding out at stakeouts asking to talk to the President. There's must be guys doing Hooo-Yah's all over the country.

The Secretary of Defense has his own son tortured. "Hippie little twerp deserved it," I'm sure people say.

That show's a real trip.

I loved the first two seasons but thought I'd wait for the DVD on this last one.  It sounds an awful lot like the other ones.  I like it tho.  And Jack Bauer is a cool TV character.  I'd just like to see if he could have a decent conversation without running out of breath and taking all loud and emotional.  I'd be forced to put something into his drink for both of our sakes.

In past seasons, from what I recall, the enemy was just sort of an ill-defined "terrorist group" of some kind. This year, there's no doubt that it's Muslim terrorists.

They even had the mousy little computer nerd blowing away Muslims last night, with a gun about as she is. Hope I'm not revealing too much, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of viewers here.

The vice president in now in charge in the show, and he's indecisive, which Limbaugh said today it would be like in the US if John Kerry were elected.

So there you have it, a right-wing fantasy with everyone they love and everyone they hate. And the only one who flinches at torture is the "moderate" vice president. Asshole!

I read another comment elsewhere that suggested that the VP's being in the underground bunker was a slam at Bush for staying up in Air Force One for so long on 9/11.

My husband and I watch the show every week. We've thought all along that the VP's physical resemblance to Richard Nixon is no accident.

This guy is unbelievable. Just like he claims NOT to paint conservatives/Republicans with a broad brush.
