This is strictly for non-political, fun conversation. It's alot easier to discuss things with someone when you realize you have some common interests, fishing, music etc. Besides, lets face it, politics gets old sometimes too :) Enjoy, Please, NO flaming, name calling etc. Have some fun!
They must not be able to get Twin Cities restaurants interested in having stands for some reason. It ends up one stand after another of fair food.
They did when they first started. I don't know what happened.
Went once. It was hot, crowded and covered with litter. Someone must like it.
Just something to do with the family is what I'm thinking.
I ain't got time to bleed
In praise of the 35-hour work weekIt won't get you rich, you won't be a superpower. But it might keep you sane.
"...for those whose work ethic is faltering, there is some encouraging news. Provigil, a drug for narcoleptics, has been tested on Army helicopter pilots, who found that it enabled them to stay awake and alert for two days straight. And the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is working on programs to modify the metabolism of soldiers so that they can will themselves not to bleed and can function efficiently without food or sleep for up to a week. They might even be able to survive without oxygen for a brief while.
"This is something the French would never think of."
"But then, one's musical tastes are only as sophisticated as they are."
I think that's unfair. People like what they like. It's a personal choice.
Liking Toby Keith or Hank Williams Jr,. doesn't make people anything but country music fans.
U2 just came out with a new album. I've heard sample cuts and it sounds good. If a person writes them off as "old" (maybe just because they're older than them) they miss out on a musician who has matured. Pick any genre of music, and the ones who have been around the block a few times have grown and so has their music.
Rick, I downloaded some U2 albums the other day that I don't own, but haven't transfered them to my MP3 player yet.
This conversation enticed me to give them another shot.
:-)
Good for you.
Now, about Miles Davis.....
what would you like to know?
he was at least among, if not the best musician of the last century.
I don't know how that can be a FACT. I have a lot of Miles Davis music and I enjoy it all. But it's not something that can be quantified into the conclusion that he was the best and another guy was second best.
I'm glad to see Angus is right up towards the top too.

Bill Fold, what username are you using over at ableminds forums?
I ask because there's a 'Bill - Fold' and a Bill Fold

I had nothing to do with stealing those :)
I'm seeing shades of the old PioneerPlanet. Stealing user names, posting under other names.
good time, good, good times...
That still happens here, Rick.
I must have over 100 usernames banned from this place.
Good grief....

You think of that one on your own?

You're bad

I'm amazed at his originality sometimes. I say to myself "never thought of it that way."
I'm amazed at his originality sometimes.
fold? original? You gotta be kidding!
The only one who amazes me more than Bill, is you, jethro.
Bill Fold and Jethro are both unique characters, that's for sure.
I think if you ever met Jethro in person you'd be surprised at how likeable he is. Not that I ever truly disliked him. He just wasn't what I was expecting.
I think I'd like you too Rick, if I ever met you in person. Our politics don't mesh, that's for sure, but I think you're a good guy. You remind me a lot of my Dad.
I think if you ever met Jethro in person you'd be surprised at how likeable he is.
You are going to ruin my image.
No I won't. People will still think of you what they do.
Yeah right.
but its fun to blame you...
As my good friend Sloop used to say...
::Yawn::
I think if you met me in person(and some of you have), you would know that I am
exactly
like the Bill-Fold that I post as, in here.
That is unfortunate. Â
And as any of you who have met me know, I am friendly and accepting of everyone - Or, anyone who is friendly and accepting of ME, that is.
If true you aren't exactly as you post. As I posted elsewhere-you are deluded.
Is there anything you're not a victim of, Fold?
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Answer?
Was there a question?
Look like insane ranting to me.
Time for you medication.
Funny you should ask, Foldy. It sailed through. Great group of guys and girls.
AND....My friend Tim presented me with an application to become an associate member of the local Vietnam Veteran's Association.
I've mentioned the 1st application once and this is the 9th time YOU'VE brought it up...LOL!...Too fucking funny!!

How about we get together, get drunk and tell war stories? Afterall, you have as many as i do. Have a great day, bro.

Imagine three sunsets per day
This is a funny column
"Any airplane trip with children begins before boarding in the airport gate area, where the parents, dreading the next four hours of high-altitude agony, will be laying down a bed of psychic tension that will be the karmic foundation for everything that is to come. They will be coaching their children on how to behave, spreading maniacally upbeat good cheer and exuding the waves of anxiety that are almost clinically certain to produce a toddler meltdown."
OK...
"The dyed nightmare on spike street"
OK, if that's you, how did you arrive at the decision?
And what's with the neckwear?
OK, if that's you, how did you arrive at the decision?
It's just a joke. Cocoroise called me that in one of the threads at ableminds, and Kitch made my picture up to look about 20 years older than I really am.
So the hair and the neckwear are still an open question?
I don't know what that means, but that's my spiked hair, and those are my necklaces.
I'd have thought you'd like my look.
People always mistake me for a Liberal.
I guess I look a little to "Out There" to be a Conservative.
I had a question, you've cleared it up. You've told me more than I needed to know.
I'd still like to know where you were going with that Rick.
...IMHO...you look like a conservative pro wrestler...
The first thing I thought when I saw it..............Damn, Billy Idol looks like is looking like crap these days! ;)
bwwwwwaaahh...
Â
thx...give billy back his hairstyle....
Luv's just jealous.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the death of Jerry Garcia, a musician who transcended any particular musical genre and helped create a cult-like following unlikely ever to be recreated.
Rat: When he died Limbaugh called him "another dead doper." Hows that for irony?
That was 10 years ago already?
The place I was working at the time fired a guy for not showing up to work because his "Grandmother had died". Truth was he went to some hippy fest for Garcia.
The boss called his house and got hold of his Mom (He still lived with Mommy). He offered his condolences and asked where he could send flowers. His Mom was like "He said his grandmother died? The bastard is at a hippy fest".
