That'd be great, if I knew where an einstein brothers bagel shop was anymore. I think all the ones I know about went out of business...

Ditto here - Einstein's in Woodbury used to be my favorite breakfast stop - now it's a Sushi Tango! Not a big breakfast crowd waiting at the door anymore for that stuff...

I guess I don't get it. Bagel and Donut Shops don't tend to stick around. Does this mean there isn't much of a morning crowd out buying breakfast type items?

guess not...stange..

Schlotsky's deli closed in Woodbury about two years ago - they had great food - but no crowds! Their dining room was empty all the time except noon.

I think that trend is true everywhere. The sit-down places aren't making money. they have to charge $8.50 for drinks just to break even.

Small deli-like shops can't afford a dining room anymore, but they can't rent out a hole in the wall, either. I found out the video store that was closing in Woodbury was stuck in a ten-year, $20,000 a MONTH lease that they couldn't back out of until they filed bankruptcy.

Kinda like Roly Poly sandwiches in North St. Paul. Excellent food, but they were only open lunch hours on what seemed like any particular day they felt like being open. I wasn't surprised when they closed up shop... Which is too bad, I really liked what they had, shoot, I would have even been a regular customer if they had been open once in a while...

T and T Galley in So. St. Paul pulls in a large breakfast crowd. They serve a great meal.

The Roly Poly in St. Paul in the skyway closed about 2 years ago...but I think that's mostly because the staff mutinied. If you went there at the right time of day, they just gave you the sandwich because the boss wasn't around.

Have you seen any owls yet? Go buy yourself a disposable camera. Better than nothing in case you spot some owls.

How many years ago was that unusual migration of the Great Grey Owls into Minnesota becuse of the food shortage in Canada?

One of those huge owls decided to stay in a creek valley near my parents house - I've seen it twice in the last four years during deer hunting.

I'm bummed as good friends of my parents hosted an photo expert who gave guided tours last nite....

I didn't go at the 7pm tour which last 2 hours as I had to get Caroline to bed....

what I didn't know was the guy who is a good friend of my parents...turns out they went out again after 10pm to look for an local owl....I could have tagged along...

:frown: I guess it was just amazing as he was able to call in the owls to fly right up to them in the middle of the nite. He than had to find them in the trees and take photos of them.

I guess it was fun to witness how this world class photographer does this kind of work...

I've read his books. If you like that one, be sure to read Silent Snow and The Weatherman too. Didn't enjoy Wheat Field and Wolf Pass as much.

I went over to TC/Ares' house on Saturday night to check in, and spent about a half hour there. When I was driving home, I couldn't figure out why my door sounded like it was open. Turns out I was the victim of a hit and run while I was in being consoling at TC/Ares' house!

Pretty much the driver's door of my PT cruiser is crumpled in, and it can't really shut. Also, as some of you know, my car has chameleon paint flames on the hood, front panels, and both doors. And there's about an 8 inch scratch along the door.

Taking it to the body shop today: Any one want to guess what the damage will be (financially speaking?)

(Just kidding, I was honored to be asked to come over)

You said it was a PT cruiser right?

I wanna change my estimate to $8.64

Actually I'll go with $885.00 tops if that picture shows everything.

Paint looks to be a bitch. Is it only the driver's door that's affected? That could make a hell of a difference. You DT today?
Mon, 03/03/2008 - 11:42 AM Permalink
Redbear

No, not DT today, and yeah, the paint's really f'ed up, With the cost of the chameleon paint (I think $250/oz) this could get out of control quickly, cost-wise.

I always have my eyes out for a nice set of hooters. . . OWLS of course! How can I get to the page where David has his mock hunt clues? I totally forgot about the kick off at Fern's. Hope all is well with everyone and I might see people out hunting for the mock hunt.

Mad_Dach5und

I'd go about $1100 with plain paint, about $1950 to match and resurrect the flames

Century Ave. Collision does do great work. They are spendy though. But if ya got insurance, I say go for it. They are worth it.

Hey everyone -

This is puckstar (Bobby). It's my inaugral post on the ableminds forum. So far I like. Thanks MMM for giving me some tips on Saturday night. Good to see everyone at Fern's and look forward to seeing you all during the AW mock hunt and later this year.

PS - does Green make it on here much? Small world, so Sunday morning, I am driving back to WBL where I live ( Melissa and I crashed at Erin's place on Sat night, after a bit of drinking). I passed Green while going up 35E - I was going to honk, but decided to just give her a shout out on here.

green doesn't post her outside of hunt time...

Hey Kitch - thanks, that would be great.

Tell her Bobby and Melissa (puckstar and MnM) say hey. Yes, the team with those reflective vests.

I thought it was funny that Green drives a green car.
