Please post if you guys are bringing the kids. We might come then too. Not sure as I don't know if my date from the morning will still be nagging at me later in the day or not.
Eags - I saw your post about the first ship through the canal and was remembering being up there with you and others (Santa Dave, the Woodsman, Mom and Dad) for the bock hunt when the horn sounded, the bridge went up, and a ship passed through.
Yep, thought you might remember that very exact day, Terry! Wasn't it fun? I get such a thrill when I hear those horns.
I've only heard that once up here. Two ships passing - one coming into the upper harbor and one leaving - and they saluted each other by blowing their horns. Always gives me sparklies!
Since our trip to Disney got put off we are thinking of going back up to Duluth this time with the kids, me and Mike have been twice for our Anniv. I think the kids will love it. Not possitive when we will be heading up I was thinking May but it's still cool up there in May so maybe over the 4th or something....anyone know if they have a good fireworks show up there?
I just returned this past weekend from Duluth. We stayed at the Edgewater resort and waterpark for my grandsons 4th birthday. Fun times can be found for all. If you go for a family outing - I recommend to stay there.
Two big fun water slides and lots 'o fun for the kids
Ares - best of luck to you tomorrow. I suspect you'll pass with flying colors.
The only time we were in Duluth for the 4th, they did have fireworks - in the thick fog. It was weird but cooler. That was after the Bob Dylan/Paul Simon concert the year of the big blow down in the BWCA.
The Edgewater is a nice place to stay. We've done that a number of times - but not since they did the waterpark thing.
I also like staying down on Canal Park on the lake side.
New carpet, new stove, new paint - Mikey even did the closets, so you know they're quality.
Please pass it along if you know someone who needs a nice place near town. I'm also doing a guerilla (or a bear, depending  ) marketing campaign, so hopefully it can go quick.
Nice digs, RB. Did you go for any major appliance upgrades?
We're in a very similar townhome in Woodbury that we'd like to sell. We're kind of waffling about replacing the washer/dryer - the old ones are showing wear but they are only about ten years old.
That is why everyone needs a porn buddy. Someone to come over and find your B.O.P.(Box of porn) and dispose of it in the unfortunate case that you die. My wife doesn't like that I watch porn either for some odd reason. Apparently the llamas make her feel like she is not enough for me. HEYOOOOO! Boinnnngggggggggg!!
dude that sucks I would never buy that house!!! good thing I didnt come to help you paint!!! grrrrr thats my old WOODS For Ditching SCHOOL!!!!! and your house is sitting on them!!! that makes me mad!!! :sheepish: :sheepish:
I'm having a bit of a crisis on the home front right now. Ali was on top of the camper with her friend getting her bike down (after I told her not to) and they discovered the Santa wrapping paper hidden high on a shelf behind a roll of tar-paper. She told my mom what they found and that she doesn't believe anymore. My mom covered it up by saying it's what's in your heart but Ali wanted to ask me what the deal was. I'm a firm believer in the Santa concept as many of you know but don't know how to handle this. Even to this day my mom refuses to spill anything. My sister told both of her kids when they were 9 and they've kept things quiet when around Ali. I can't say the same for her friends at school though. One of her good friends spilled everything to her saying that her dad told her the whole scoop. I put a band-aid on it but can't do that forever. I guess I'm more concerned if Ali spills to other kids and having it end up on my lap.
Thoughts? Things you may have done that worked or didn't work?
Thanks in advance.
I did leave a VM with her friend's parents so I could get their take on the whole thing but I haven't heard back from them yet.
either that or cluey.

Yep, me2, you already said yes, but I'll only count ya once.

I'm pretty sure we'll be there.
Major Sparklies!

"We're two ships that pass in the night, we both smile and we say it's alright"
I think a Duluth trip sounds like fun about now, but I think its going to have to wait until I get things settled here and get moved.
wish me luck tomorrow. i'm taking my gre exam.
Keep a couple of seats for Mr. and Mrs. Dachsund, too...
I know we don't get out much, and the Mrs. is trying to diet - but Carbone's is her kryptonite. No arm twisting needed for this type of outing...
Mr. and Mrs. Dach - I've got you on the list!

Hey Diggin', can you go to that waterpark without staying there? I couldn't find anything on their site.
We're going up for a week at the end of this month and might stop by there on the way up to Bluefin Bay.
DD picked that waterpark specifically for that reason. She didn't want to go to a parked full of day trippers.

Happy birthday! (belated)
oooooh Kelly, Happy Birthday Baby!
I remember for a College Finals Week study break, we organized a 'field trip' with a bunch of us going over to the A.B.&C...
Rule #1: You HAD to buy SOMETHING
Rule #2: You had to bring it back and have 'Show and tell' and explain why you paid money for that thing.
I think I ended up getting a 'classic' Playboy of Jessica Hahn, which was promptly stolen by my roommate. Ah, I didn't ask for it back after that...
Thoughts? Things you may have done that worked or didn't work?
Thanks in advance.
