I thought only certain people can see this thread? or the whole CoolerCrew thread. Like Atlantic Refugees pay to have ableminds access but they can't read CoolerCrew. hmmmmmmmm or can they and they just don't kinda like I just don't go read theres because there's enough here to read already.
I'm just starting to read this so if't already mentioned, sorry.
But the problem with that is that if a member of the board (even out side the cooler) lets everyone have access (like I do in the no mod thread) then any paid menber will have access to that folder.
The only way I see is if Tim and Mark make a distinction as to the status of the member. ie: adult or child.
That way I could lock out children, but right now i don't have that option.
Davies keys on Rice in Little Canada! they will do it if it is for your house??? What is it for?? the other thing is just look for a place that has a kid working there and see if he will do it!! other wise if you have a blank and a key cutter I can do it no prob.!!!
This is easily done. All you need to do is set the kids up with their own member account name. Then block them from top folders while granting them access to their own folders. No extra access lists needed. No need to bother Mark or Tim. And I don't see any reason why the adults (or kids) wouldn't want to post in the kid thread. We're on here more and will create more dialog to create interest. I don't have any problem with Ali talking with anyone on here. Especially because I know each of you. It would be different if we weren't monitoring the thread or if it was outside the Cooler.
I still don't understand how you can restrict the kids access to other top folders that we dont own, like atlantic refugees or something. Those owners set their own access standards and, if the kids are paid mebers, they will have access to them if the owners set up open access to paid members. We don't have any control over other peoples folders.
Am I missing something? I don't know a lot about setting up access and may be wrong on this. I know you guys have more experience with it.
I got an ipod about six mos. ago and am looking for several things, of which I'm sure some of you have in your collections/ipods. Maybe we can post what we want and we can send music to each other over e-mail or something...?
Note: Not illegal to share something you've already purchased. You could burn a cd, give it to me, and I'd copy it to my ipod - we're just elminating the middle step.
My kids are very interested in this and in the cooler crew, every year they like to be a part of the festivities and enjoy meeting other kids and members of the crew. I think this would be a good way for them to get involved. Parents can monitor what it said and make sure the conversations stay clean.
You're right 3M. They will have access to those other threads that are open to any paid member. But like Kitch said, it's up to the parents to monitor that kind of stuff anyway. They can find way worse out there than any of our boring political bitching threads. You set up a shortcut to the CC folder and they can stay in there. if they venture off, it's the way of the net. We can only control what we have power over.
You weren't missing anything. You understood just fine.
If the Kids want to pay for a Kid Content thread - more power to 'em!
I'd probably lurk from time to time - mainly so I can learn the Text Message language that the kids seem to know so well: LOL ROFL OMG and all that crap.
ha. I've got plenty of Hannah Montanah, Mikey. I posted a partial list of what I'm interested in MM's old folder, so Barefoot guy doesn't narc us out to Lars Ulrich.
investigative work and identified the story behind our visitor. He apparently hitched a ride with a Forest Service maintenance crew as they are now begin to prepare the Johnston Ridge Observatory (JRO) for reopening sometime this spring (summer?). Current snow depths at the JRO are more than 20-30 feet so the work to clear snow is difficult, dangerous, and arduous. Washington State DOT is doing their best to clear the road to the JRO. However, the snowpack in many areas covering the road has compacted into solid ice, or what is better known around these parts as Cascade Concrete. It will take some time for DOT to clear ice that is 15 feet thick (and more) along the roadway.

The VolcanoCam Classic Camera has captured a view never before scene with any VolcanoCam. It appears a VolcanoCamGnome is responsible for clearing the snow in front of the VolcanoCams. He is there now and we've captured the image for the Hall of Fame.

Woohoo! We have a view! Well, a great view of fog and clouds and another impending snowstorm about to hit Mount St. Helens! So why the woohoo? Well, the Mount St. Helens maintenance crew managed to get to the Johnston Ridge Observatory for what is believed to be only the second time all winter. They were there to check on the JRO and begin preparations for a spring reopening. While there, they took the time, braved the elements and cleared a big chunk of the snowdrift that's been blocking most of the VolcanoCam views all winter long. Barring a massive snowfall to thwart their efforts, and with fingers crossed, we should now have continuous views of Mount St. Helens from now on. Yes, even a great view of fog and low clouds looks good about now.
hospitals and the tours thereof we've been partaking in over the last several months...
this time, megan's in at children's minneapolis. sue took her to the doctor yesterday afternoon complaining of (among other things) a sore neck and back, so the first thoughts on our part is meningitis. so last night in the er, they did a spinal tap (poor thing). still waiting for formal results on that, and now she's seeing an infectious disease doctor (still in children's), who thinks it may be something other than meningitis. tomorrow morning they're doing a cat scan with a dye injection to see if they can find something else.
sharing the cd is fine (at a minimum, fair use, at a maximum right of first sale apply). however, it is still illegal for you to make the copy, from a technical standpoint anyway.
The artists were scheduled to sing two songs each. But after only singing the first of his two songs, Jason Castro received a critique from Paula on BOTH his performances.
He's been one of my favorites to watch... the week he did that cover of Hallelujah... that was awesome... the Jeff Buckley version is one of my favorite songs...
Sounds like real life - our kids are messed up because of what they inherit from us...

(but then I'd be "moderating" wouldn't I?)
can anyone help me accomplish this? I'll come to you or the place that can do it.

a lot of places will do it. Just ask.
We used to have a kid thread at PF. Remember Penutbutter and jams?
it can't be 100% control'd that is up to the parents...
but we could help make the kids have something of their own.
Nevermind Tim. What to do about TMK?!?

Maybe in coolerheads...
I'm afraid we would fight MORE for the laptop than we already do
