Do you want me to bring the orange reflective marker sticks at the end of my driveway? I'm being optimistic here, but I think the snow plow won't need them again for a few months...
should get ya close. Thats a cache cordinate thats behind their house. Thats all I got so far, but its enough for me to get there. Yellow house on Belmont.
When you plug those coordinates into Google Maps, it puts the marker almost dead center in the middle of Belmont Park.
When you go to the street view photos - Ares' neighbor is having a garage sale! I think it would be really spooky if they were having another sale this weekend so it looked exactly like the street view images. Deja vu!
address: 112 belmont road, apple valley. going from 3 until whenever. md, we're the house up and to the right of the arrow. we've got about a half an acre so bring whatever you want for entertainment (hint: fireworks are encouraged  we'll have food, some beer and wine, but if you want to get plowed, you'll have to bring extra. sorry it took so long to get directions out to folks. we've been busy getting everything in order around the house in preparation for the party
Weather looks like part clouds / spotty rain on Saturday. Probably too windy for Discin'. Perfect for Bocce Ball. After the sun goes down, it'll probably be perfect for a fire. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!
According to information we got today, there will also be fireworks. (The upper level of the parking ramp and one parking lot need to be cleared of all cars by 6pm tomorrow.
We need to head north this weekend so will be missing the celebrations unfortunately.
Congratulations though to all the graduates. You guys are simply awesome!
thinking about making it to some of the capitol stuff depending on weather - once in a lifetime experience - we are here for 150 years! cool.
hey nick, I suggest you wait and tour it a different day
they have tours practically daily - its worth seeing
I'd like to go again soon - even though there are old water leak problems and repairs needed, I'm still a Cass Gilbert fan - which reminds me I have a coffee table book on the Chrysler Bldg. I need to get back to the library. no Gilbert wasn't the architect, just reminded me of it - damn overdue library fees! Gilbert was known for suttely placing diamond patterns in his designs, which weirdly enough reminds me that the Emmanual Masqueray house on Portland Ave. that Garrison Keilor lived in for years was recently sold and he moved to a house on Summit Ave. I actually wish I had enough $$ to of bought that house if it were on more acreage. Masqueray was the architect for the Cathedral. Has anyone been in that bookstore that Keilor owns at, I think, Western and Selby? what do you think of it?
someone (kid) took a marker to 3 Governor paintings in the Capital this week, luckily they were all repaired.
say, md, its funny you should mention the garage sale going on in the street view pics on google. we looked out the window this morning and the people across the street are having one this weekend
Lots of Liquor stores sell them, but 90% of them have to pre-order them. I called around (a lot) and found one place off 36 & Century that actually had one in inventory. Usually it takes a week or so to get one ordered in. The keg these guys had was probably from a party order that got canceled.
In the next few weeks there should be more Liquor stores pre-ordering a couple cans because of all the Graduation parties, but most of the year it's a crap shoot. I got lucky.
Those mini Kegs (with the built-it tap) don't cost much - about $20. The next size up is the silver six-gallon keg that you need a tapper for - about $50 I think. A Couple stores did have the bigger one, but I can't recall which.
I just had one for the kids at my party last weekend. We had our own keg of course
There were over a dozen kids and it lasted right up until they went to bed. There were a few adults drinking off of it too. It is good for the fridge but not a very good set up for outside since it needs to be on it's side and it's hard to keep it cold at that angle. We took out the 'bubble' and lined the box then put it back in and filled it with ice. It worked OK as long as it was able to drain into the beer keg bucket. It is a good idea though. No 1/2 full cans of pop all over the place.
Are you talking about the keg type that is like a plastic 'party ball' with a knob on the end that you pump to prime it? My wife's co-worker had one of those last summer and had all kinds of problems like you described.
The kind I got (and have used before) is a Red & White vertical steel can. It has a built-in co2 cannister that you 'pop' at the top when you are ready to use it. No pumping needed. It has a small tap at the bottom that you twist to open. The spout is really small so it doesn't spray or make messes like a normal tapper would.
The can is easier to keep cold in the fridge, but when using it, you still have to set it up on the end of a table or bench to pour. We used it at work - took it out at noon - it was still pretty cold at 3:00 when we drained the rest of it.
Can we get you silly 2008 grad stuff, Mike?
smaller than crosby bigger than rice.
Or was that just you.

oh yeah. and uh joe.
on orders from tc, because of the new goslings, fireworks are *not* to be encouraged. :frown:
I actually have a couple cords of firewood I bought to use at Mounds Park still in my garage - do you have a firepit?
and if i can get it out there without tc seeing me doing it
Earlier in the day, we'll be heading down to the capital for "statehood day"...
Its going on Sat. and Sun.
music, food, etc...
Saturday around 12:30pm, theres scheduled to be like 30-40 old planes (WW2, and older) flying over the capitol grounds....
I think if they are doing tours of the building, we may do one.... I wanna see the gold horses....
We need to head north this weekend so will be missing the celebrations unfortunately.

I love it!
(I think it's supposed to be about 25-30 glasses)

Don't party too hard - there's only one bunk in my home-away-from-home.
