We went out to see Altar Boyz last night at the Chanhassen to celebrate our anniversary. Dinner was excellent. Altar Boyz not so much.
Of course someone had to be seated near us bathed in perfume. In church when that happens, I can get up and move. Not the case last evening. Got outside when it was over and sneezed and sneezed and sneezed in between running eyes and nose.
This morning I'm still congested. Not a good sign. Means things are really irritated - or I have a cold starting - but that would seem almost too much of a coincidence.
I wish places like the Chanhassen would ban fragrances. One gets stuck in a seat and you get the benefit of others' ideas of smelling good.
So, funny update. I ended up buying a weekend trip to Nashville, but I didn't tell Mrs. Bear where we were going, only that we had a secret adventure planned. Which thanks to the good people at Visa, got RUINED! They called her to report suspicious activity, since we're in Minnesota and someone used our account to buy tickets to the Grand Ole Opry. Oh well, it'll be nice to get away, at least!
After the parade I plan on hitting the downtown bars then Gabes later on maybe. Who knows. Either way there will be lots of corn beef, cabbage & beer in my future.
Call me disturbed, but I LIKE Corned Beef & Cabbage. The only thing that gets me about it is that sulfuric 'rotten' smell from cooking cabbage. If you can vent that odor out of the house, I'd probably be making it a home.
Thank you! Being in a heavily Finn-populated area, we do celebrate St. Urho's day here.
And it was a good day. 60. Ice cream stand is open. Got some info on a new client that might keep me busy for the next two years. And my house was shown this afternoon.
My niece bought a dog from an obvious crackhead on Robert Street tonight for $20. She was suspicious that the dog was stolen and just wanted to get the dog away from him.
She came home and posted photos on Facebook, and I thought the dog looked familiar - I have been searching lost and found pet sites for Hawkeye the Australian shepherd missing since November.
Took me maybe five minutes to find the posting - she called - and it is the same dog - they exchanged photos by e-mail and both were convinced.
My niece is taking the dog home now - his owner was crying with happiness.
She lives only a few blocks away from where her dog was sold for $20 - a nice little purebred beagle. She'd been searching, posting, putting out flyers.
So...what I am learning as I search for Hawkeye is that dog theft has become huge. People will snap up a dog out of it's yard then try to get a reward, or will just sell it to someone else for drug money.
Keep an eye on your dogs, even in your own yard! Sad that this is the case.
The owner confirmed that the dog was stolen out of their fenced yard.
What a weird series of events put my niece in that place tonight, and she happened to have a $20 on her, bought the dog, came home, took pics, posted them on Facebook and then started posting on the lost dog websites.
Meanwhile, I saw the photos she'd posted and thought I'd recalled a lost beagle reported in that area.
It was so cool to be on IM with her as she was calling the owner, they exchanged e-mail photos to confirm, then she took the dog home!
The only down side is that I am too wound up to sleep just yet.
What a wonderful story and a great ending to a sad situation. It really is remarkable that your niece thought something was wrong and rescued the dog and then you, miles away in Michigan, recognized the dog and brought the dog and owner together. The stars must have been aligned
Happy Birthday gentlemen! I too love corned beef and I made Colcannon last night for the first time and it was delicious! Have fun celebrating and be safe.
No wonder that the orgy that I had last St. Patty's day was a total flop! It sucks, the orgy I had on Turkey Day was a complete disaster because everyone was sluggish from the Triptaphan, now I find out why St. Patty's day went awry. I guess I will just have to stick to the Arbor Day "Got Wood?" Party and just deal with the fact that there might be splinters.
But I bought groceries at some point.... So I guess it wasn't a total loss.
For some reason I'm seeing soup cans under the bathroom sink and Toilet paper in the Food Pantry. Just make sure the toothpaste and the Preparation H did NOT get mixed up!

Happy BD Nick

Another words YOU CANT GET IT UP!!!! :ooh: :ooh:
Sorry; must be the whiskey I'm going to consume tonight. Carry on...
haven't u noticed...
I feel this way today. Not because of a hangover - lack of sleep. I woke up WIDE AWAKE at 4:10 am and had absolutely no hope of dozing off again.
Didnt get home until the sun was coming up.
Im pretty sure i pissed people off.... that usually happens when I drink 2 days in a row. (which happens every year)
But I bought groceries at some point.... So I guess it wasnt a total loss.
I had a great birthday. Fun packed as usual. How I got home is beyond me. :pbpt:
However, I dont remember if I talked to you, or left a voicemail, or what...
And I had To CONGRATULATE HIM!!!!
HE IS GOING TO BE A DADDY!!!!!!!!
I saw that he changed his thing on face book!! and then I started msging him about it!!!
