I'm pondering not renewing my subscription... I wish I could get at least read only access to the boards for free. It's not like I need to post messages anyway. If I had anything important to say, I'm sure I could email the proper people.
kc, do you by any chance have any drupal experience? one of the things i'd like to do is build up a web crossing-like forum module for it to incorporate into the cooler crew site; i just don't have a whole lot of time to do it.
suggestions from anyone else will be entertained as well.
I don't actually. I have php experience. But I'd be happy to learn.
I'm just wondering in the long run, with lower total posts in the forums if switching to something cheaper/free would be better.
I don't know, I'm sure anything is a group decision anyway. Personally, even though it's cheap, I'm just not sure I can continue to justify the expense for as often as I stop by. Especially when I know there are free alternatives to keep in touch with people, even given the advantages here.
Here is a rough transcription of the video. The words in stars are ones that I had trouble understanding:
The snow sits in humongous drifts, and soon our attention shifts. From recounting ballots and deflating domes, to deciphering the clue writer's idiotic tomes. I am James Goodhue IV! Curmuddgeon-in-chief, 45 degrees north. It will be my deepest pleasure, to hide the annual medallion treasure. Should I this year turn over a leaf? Should I not add to your troubles and grief? *something* Como's frog say "here, find me!" While serving all comers a pot of fresh *cover*. Ha! In your dreams, all you noodlers. This hunt's for huskies, not... for... POODLERS! The nearer I approach decrepitude, the more pleasure I take in your ineptitude. I don't *truck* with touchy feely stuff, my *something* is make the hunt rough. So, sord up now and be foretold: I'll dispatch ye deep into ice and cold.
lovin' it....it is very hard to understand him I'm surpised you got that much I only understood about 1/2 of it but then again I only listened once. Thanks for the Translation!! I hope they aren't going to try to confuse us with print clues verses video clues again I wasted so much time last year trying to figure out what was up wiht the videos....
Looks like I need to reinstall my video capture software on my new system. I think I'll create a virtual machine for it though, as the software was rather buggy. It was made in china afterall.
Good job BFG, Heres my take on the words you missed...

I bought 2 used polaris snowmobiles to go with the one I already have. I got a Polaris Indy Trail 488 and a polaris XLT 600 to go with my polaris liquid cooled 440. If any one wants to ride this weekend we are heading up to the toad farm. Call me at the toad farm (715-263-24 four zero)

I'm back in Minnesota !!!
My brother drove up to MQT Monday to help me with the move. We got here, with two vehicles fully loaded, around 7PM yesterday evening.
I am looking forward to being so much closer to my family, life-long friends, and the Cooler Crew!
I am noting the significance of this happening on the Winter Solstice, full moon, lunar eclipse and DDY's birthday!
Love,
Eags
Just a small reminder to consolidate all the 2010 Hunt Crap stuff into one folder and kick out a 2011 Hunt one

btw - seeing that video reminded me that this is the longest I've ever gone with the same avatar. I used to change it weekly except around the hunt.
