whew! ... long winded * MCL! and SCD's to all on earth. KT!!! ...And Hello, Artemis, how's Kelly?...The snow is melting, and Hannah wants a reason to run and play...and shed.:)
A.W. if we do a bonfire then I would be able to go, hubby works on sunday so I'm stuck with the kid. andy loves bonfires and he could run around all day. If the weather holds up I'm in!
Hi KT! I'm good! Workin hard and hardly working :) only 1 week left. We should get together again next week, or you should come to the get together if we have a bonfire!
felt is a past tense word, kt. feel is the present tense. and its still very much a present tense thing. i simply never let her know that. and every chance i've had in the past few months to do something about it never actually ended up happening, most recently to that snowstorm a couple of weeks ago. one of these days....
now if my coaching staff in this matter (and you two know who you are) weren't trying to plan a wedding for me..... :)
ares, which is why I said for you to go to it.Sometimes people shy away from strong forces...Could it be the fear of rejection, or ridicule, or having your heart squished that prevents you from telling, or showing her? These are risks a person must face in the game of love. But also, it is wise to decide what hurts more, unreturned affections, or slamming head first into a brick wall. If it's the latter, there are plenty of walls in this town....And it's hard to reason or argue or deny matters of the heart, even when it feels like it's pumping backwards.
well, now, its a matter of sitting her down face to face. managing to get to that point is what's not happened. if this were the sort of thing i were comfortable doing over the phone it would have been done a long time ago. way back when, when i had the perfect opportunity to say something, i convinced myself i had the perfect reasoning to not say anything. and oh the flaws in that reasoning that show up with hindsight. fear of rejection and a squished heart, nah. if i've got absolutely no chance with her, nothing i do now is going to change that. it only took me like 7 or 8 months to figure that out so i'm not doing too bad on that front :)
What day are we thinking for the bonfire? and is Newell the loc.? I'm going to the N.shore tonight for a couple days, to see if I can catch some trout. If I do, I'll smoke it and bring it with.(that is if I can keep it lit)
Yes, Sunday April 7th would be the day. And I was thinking Newell although Como, Phalen, Hidden Falls, and Mounds all have fire rings too. But I've always had a sort of fondness for the Newell fire ring since the first Pity Party. So then the only question would probably be the gathering of the wood. That and the food. I suppose we could do a potluck, though we'd have to keep in mind there wouldn't be any electricity at this time of year (or bathrooms come to think it). I'm think we could start around 5.
Ares - Walking into stuff is not always a good idea.
As far as Newell - I like that park too as the fire ring is close to the covered picnic shelters and there should be electricity there as they don't turn that off. Cherokee is good too except the fire ring is further from the shelters and if it's a bit nippy, it would be nice to eat (if that's what we decide to do) and be warmed by the fire at the same time.
There is a Wendy's or Arby's or something not too far at University from there for bathrooms.
Been busy around here tonight getting the house ready for Easter dinner. Tomorrow the grocery shopping will get done and Saturday I'll have a couple things to prep but then it'll be all done and Sunday should be a nice relaxing day.
Ares - You're too young to have trouble sleeping. I think about 5am I'm just really getting into some deeper sleep.
Of course to get to the deep sleep cycles, I gotta get started soon.
Well I'm up at 5am although that's largely because I was feeling tired last night and went to lie down a little after 7 and didn't wake up until almost 10, and then I was back in bed by 11.
On the bus right home, on the corner of Larpenteur and I think it was maybe Edgerton or near there, I saw some people cutting some trees with a big sign that said "Free Wood". Anyone with the ability to store some wood for a week interested in picking some up? If I get my car cleaned out this weekend I can maybe get a trunk full.
I'm still feeling a bit indecisive about which park to have it in. I can guess why Me2 wants Cherokee :-P I've only been to Cherokee once though and I don't remember where the fire rings were. Not sure if I even know how to get there as I was riding with someone else the one time I did go and they had trouble finding it too. I guess my preference overall though is for Newell as it's sort of a private place to have one and they do have the picnic shelters right there and there's a bit of historical significance to having bonfires there with this group. Anyone else want to add anything before deciding?
Finally trying to get out from under the big rock! Actually, things have just been extremely busy for us since the big hunt. I *did* follow the Mock hunt....almost even got out to dig the morning it was found - but it was not to be.
I *think* the 7th would be okay for us, especially if we do an outside thing.....would almost have to bring the kids, and it'd be kind of interesting to try to keep them happy indoors.
I have been fighting the urge to get a new car too. It wouldn't be a *new* new one, because I put WAY too many miles on - but a newer used one would be nice. On the other hand, there really is nothing wrong with what I've got....it's got a couple of rattles, but that's about it. I think I'm going to drive it until it dies....see just how many miles I can get out of it.
I'd better get going here, but I did want to check in and say "hi", if nothing else.....I'll try to come back before another 3 months goes by!!
i didn't say i was having trouble sleeping, ter. i'm just waking up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed an hour before my alarm goes off. if anything, its just annoying. i did manage to make it to the alarm today though.
i'll see what i can do about stashing some wood in my trunk too.
i'm with you, mom, with replacing the older of my two cars. the money i'd spend would be put to better use elsewhere, especially considering i'll be driving the newer of them for the next 6 months, and the hoopty will sit idle. (1500 miles and a couple of months since the last oil change, and it'll probably be 6 more months until the next one!)
when last i was in cherokee, aw, i went across 52 to plato, took it to robert and robert to annapolis. went west from there.
I'll have to clean out my trunk and check out that area too. If we get north again before the 7th, we could bring some wood back then too if the snow is gone and the ground isn't too mushy so we can drive on it.
And there is something neat about Newell - but Cherokee also holds some meaning to the crew.
Getting to Cherokee is easy. Take the high bridge (Smith Ave.) across the river and take the first right as soon as you get across. Follow that road and turn right at the tennis courts. Keep following that until you get to the main area of the park.
Ares - If I was waking up an hour before my alarm, I'd be thinking I was having some issues. Glad you're so bright-eyed and bushy tailed so early in the morning. Someone has to be that way and there is no way that would ever be me.
one in maple grove and one at the mall that i'm aware of.
i got the following email from a co-worker of mine the other day about the maple grove location:
I was talking to a friend of mine last night. He is a new member of the Maple Grove city council. So for giggles, I ask him when the heck Krispy Kremes is going to be open for business. My jaw dropped at his response.
They are anticipating over 4000 customers on opening day.
The city council had to agree on the number of police reservist they need to direct traffic for the Grand opening. They decided on 30!!!!
There will be 3 shuttle bus services from area park and rides you can take to go pickup doughnuts during the opening weekend.
message sent to the reader advocate.
tick...tock...tick...tock...
Nothing quite like watching time fly, heh? :-)
I've still got way more to do around here tonight than time. Better get off this thing and get to work.
Goodnight, SCDs, MCL and Happy Hump Day!
yep.
i suppose i ought to be heading off as well. having trouble keeping my eyes open. scds and mcl back atcha.
A.W. if we do a bonfire then I would be able to go, hubby works on sunday so I'm stuck with the kid. andy loves bonfires and he could run around all day. If the weather holds up I'm in!

Nice view of the city lights :) -just an idea and an SA within 6 blocks for the bathrooms.
Bathrooms?
its a park. there are trees there. who needs bathrooms? :)
Now isn't that a typical guy thing to say.
We made it!!! Hump day Wednesday is behind us. Only a couple more days till the weekend!
My Mom sent this to me today. Thought it was way too cute not to share.
sorry, but thx and me2 just walked into that (had to be careful with my choice of words there, lest i walk into something :)
that pic is too cute, ter.

arby's at university and fairview.
And Porky's too! That would be a cool late night Medallion Hunter place to eat.
well, since its an hour past my bedtime, nite all, scds and mcl. not that it matters. i'll be awake an hour before the alarm goes off anyway.
sure enough. awake at 5am.

Porky's would be a great place to hang out during a summer treasure hunt.
Goooood Moooorrrrrrnnnniiing!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
Allison, that'a an easy enough intersection for me to check out -- I'll stop by there on the way home tonight :).

terry, if i were waking up and i was tired, i'd say there was a problem. believe me, a couple of months ago, i was and that was even more annoying.
Their motive for taking the Krispy Kreme truck was unclear.

Mmmmm. Doughnuts.
:: patiently waiting for krispy kreme to open so i can see what the deal is with them ::
Opening soon in Minnesota:

one in maple grove and one at the mall that i'm aware of.

That's a good doughnut.
I've had Krispy Kreme. They're good but, not that good. I don't understand the big deal.
Tasted like a doughnut to me.
i imagine they look and smell like donuts too. :)
I had one once. It was a pretty damn good doughnut.
Seems all of Yahoo has died today. How annoying. Now how am I supposed to goof off at work?
Or maybe it's just my proxy server at work. Seems there are several sites I can't get to today, though some I can like this one. How odd.
Now how am I supposed to goof off at work?
isn't yahoo great for that? in the few weeks before i left my former employer 3 years ago, i'd spend 4 or 5 hours a day there playing blackjack.
Allison, I'm able to get in Yahoo.
That better, Jethro?
I'm able to get in Allison.
Did we NEED to know that!
Did we NEED to know that!
No, I just like to share.
