The fireworks weren't cancelled and they were spectacular! So nice to be able to step out the back door and see 'em...though the trees are getting bigger every year to make it more experimental finding just the right spot for viewing.
The next door neighbors were saying that next year the Taste will be on Harriet Island. Bummer! We'll actually have to drive somewhere to see the fireworks.
Just heard a message on my machine thismorning that our friends had their baby on July 4th! a boy! only 5 lbs 12 oz. 19 inches long---that is basically what Sarah weighed (5 lb 9 oz)Whitney was 6 lbs 5 3/4 oz....anyhow, I think they called him Ethan (note:I had no coffee at the time I was listening and eyes were not quite open).
Back from a week or so up north! Marley had to play chaufer a couple days, driving back to the cities Wed. to pick up his dad, bro, nephew, and friend, and then driving them back Sat night; but a good time was had by all. On the 4th we went to Goosberry falls for a couple hours, then to Duluth for an hour or so, then to a parking area out on HWY 61 to have a small fire by the lake and watch the simultaneous firework displays from Superior and Duluth. We've done basically the same thing the last 4 years, but always with different people. It was a great day!
FINALLY!!!!! I'm back on! how is everyone? artemis, I've been to gooseberry falls, It's so pretty out there, gonna have to get back there one of these day's. hubby has never been there so I guess I should take him. camping has been great this year, except for last weekend when a storm came through, we were trying to get the awning down before the wind took it and lightning hit near by and gave me and hubby a pretty good jolt, we did manage to save the awning though! :) others were not so lucky, lots of campers calling their insurance company's! hope everyone is well! will come back soon as long as my puter keeps working now! MCL!
Geez.........I need more coffee after sloggin through all that golf talk! Not quite as boring as soccer but a great cure for insomnia if you can catch it on T.V.!
...So I thought that I'd start up in Battle Creek, and if the clues changed my mind, I might go check out Highland. ....NO WAY would they ever hide it in a tiny park, you remember what happened to Conway!
I think this unseasonably warm weather might affect the snow pack, I hope the disc Gods took this into consideration. Geeze! It's too warm for a parka tonight!!!
...oops... I think between the CONvergence, and the catfishing, I've gone and lost 97% of the brain cells I had left. Hope this heat has found you cooler, and I hope you all are happy, and forthright. See ya!
Went to the Sylvia Browne seminar tonight w/my Sis-in-Law.
It was great! She's so straight forward and down to earth, and she's so funny! I enjoy the psychic and past life aspects, as well as the spiritual aspects, but I don't agree with all of her teachings (I can't say I agree with allof anyschool of thought)
ATH - I almost went to see her too. I would love to hear how it all went and what you thought- when do you want to clean out your dads basement? maybe we can talk then. I also want to go see that Joyce woman at Rivercenter this week. I would like to see that guy whos on tv in the morning too...lost for names, I have been 'top to bottom' serious cleaning thisafternoon in the kitchen and have been around too many fumes....John Edward, thats the guy!
possibly. but it could also be a physical problem with the hardware too. i had an old pentium running as my firewall box right up until last nite. i couldn't keep the thing running for more than 24 hours and have it be reliable as the bridgehead mail server, and external dns server. swapped my old 486 mobo in and its been working just fine. and that was on linux.

Ares - It can't be nearly as bad over a DSL line as it is on a dial up connection...though you have my sympathies.
oh its not. i downloaded 60 megs or so of updates for xp tonite, and at least 200 megs for win2k after downloading service pack 2.
Heading for the sheets. How did this weekend come to an end so soon?
Goodnight, SCDs and MCL to one and all!
good morning from the slums of Lakeland !
mornin' sam.
The fireworks weren't cancelled and they were spectacular!

Artemis your holiday weekend sounded great!
Holy Moly, it's Scribe!
Nah....I'm just her assistant. She gave me a special project with specific instructions to monitor this board.
My name is Mrs. Wiggins.
Isn't that Missis a Wiggins?
LOL!
I love Tim Conway!
whoa. scribe's in the house.
you still haven't found your hairbrush yet???
No, I mean Mrs. Wiggins....what is it with you people?
I will make a note to Scribe to ask about her hairbrush. Have you found it? How did it come to be in your posession?
i didn't find it.
Well I will give her the message anyway. I hope she doesn't think I'm nuts.
go back to bed scribe. unless you're having fun talking about yourself in the third person :)
that is a message I will certainly not forward. HOW RUDE!
i put the smiley on the end so it would explicitly look not-rude. lol.
::humph:: My you are an unsavory character. No wonder she wanted me to handle this project.:)
How the hell do you spell charachter anyway? This doesn't look right.
character
No....thats not right either.
How about Karacktar.
if it gets you through the night.
:: hopes me2 doesn't come in here and see my lack of critique on scribe's spelling (sorry, j) ::
It's Carroter, you ignorant doofus bo bos!
geez. and i'm the rude one.
wahoo. got a solo. ;)
Crazy world isn't it?
Mrs. Wiggins
Any relation to Mrs. Pigglewiggle? reading her now to the kids :)
Way to go Ares! It's like taking your first steps...just do it in baby steps and someday you'll be able to always do it on your own :)
someday you'll be able to always do it on your own :)
but you'll stay with me until i can, right?
Hey, Mrs. Wiggins, give Scribe a belated congrats on her acceptance!
...So I thought that I'd start up in Battle Creek, and if the clues changed my mind, I might go check out Highland. ....NO WAY would they ever hide it in a tiny park, you remember what happened to Conway!

Ares, could MS Office cause my windows protection error on Win/98?
possibly. but it could also be a physical problem with the hardware too. i had an old pentium running as my firewall box right up until last nite. i couldn't keep the thing running for more than 24 hours and have it be reliable as the bridgehead mail server, and external dns server. swapped my old 486 mobo in and its been working just fine. and that was on linux.
