It can't be in a sock (it was last year!) Our bet is on a 'new' park, maybe conway. But highland still looks good. We're heading for conway, look for blondie and

brunette!!!!

I think peak=summit(ave) transucent doesn't mean transparent. it's at capital or public ground near history center EVERY clue fits

In clue 3 it says to figure out the #'s 9, 5, and somewhere a four. The somewhere is what we are all looking for so go to clue four and it says that the value is in

Newell.

"theres value as WELL in the NEW"

Clear reference to Man of fame in many a tome (Webster Dictonary) - Webster's first name was merriam. That's the "which park is it at" clue. The rest either

confirm that or are "vicinity" - or "where do you have to be IN the park" - type clues.

I went to sooooooooo many parks last night!

Highland (clues don't fit but I'm saying no - still not many people there last nite)

Linwood (nice fit until last clue-no translucent peak)(about 10 people there at 12)

Palace (way out of the question no peak there-also no on there at 12:30)

CRosby Farm Park (12:40 entrance closed no access to park period)

Harriet Island (1:00 interesting view, but have trouble fitting some clues saw 3 vehicles there in 15 minutes)

Rice Park (this was the shocker it comes very close to fitting all!, at 1:20 about 20-30 people digging here, absolutely the best translucent peak you'll see anywhere-

a tall building also visible from Harriet Island and for man of fame = Washington ave. Right there, etc. But no keeping score/adorn front door. Studying the past=the

landmark center - the new = new construction there, yearning to learn = library right there. And quite clear = ice sculptures, but no trees in a line? I dug for 20 mins.

:)

Mounds Park (@1:50 one group of five people-drunk i think, period nuff said)

Swede Hollow Park (@2:00 nice view of the capital, but again no one there, and nothing fit)

Phalen Park (@2:15 guess what?.....Gates closed...Again!)

Prosperity Heights (@2:30 a couple nice fits, but no translucent peak, and no people)

well be doing the same tonite unless they tell us Good Luck all we're gonna need it!

Can't be at history center or state capitol, they're not St. Paul Parks. Conway's on the east side, you can see Sunray (peaks) from there, has a sliding hill, sports

stuff, cemetary (does that mean anything to anyone?) We're outta here, it's a beautiful day to search

Conway Park isn't it.

Last year www.metrosupersaver.com had the explainations to the clues. If they are doing it this year is a mystery. Usually they start the second week of the hunt.

Golden Boy, Why do you think Tome refers to a Websters dictionary?

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:33 PM Permalink
Johnny

It is not Conway Park.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:34 PM Permalink

Conway doesn't have a sliding hill. conway is totally flat.

Tome: "A book of knowledge" - at least that's from the book I have - and , I'll be.. it's a webster's dictionary, copyright 1991.

CONWAY PARK:

Clue #1: A park in St Paul, no golf course.

Clue #2: A sledding hill on one side of the park.

Clue #3: Possibly sports score. Baseball, football, hockey, basketball, tennis all present.

Clue #4: Medallion never been at Conway before.

Clue #5: Sunray Library

Clue #6: Ruth Street - Babe Ruth. "fit in our game", "a man of fame" "bring the treasure HOME"

Clue #7: WOODROW Wilson - a wood row is a line of trees, Wilson Street is by the park.

Clue #8: In a softball, probably on baseball fields. The rec center has a white glass pyrimid on top the front door lit from inside at night, or possibly glass pyrimids at

corner of Sunray Shopping Center, both visible from baseball diamonds.

Dave, not that I think it there yet but drove by Linwood on the way home and about 30 people there. Translucent peak is the community center's steeple with glass

windows on each of the four sides. I am going to drive by there tonight to see if there is a light somewhere that makes it "glow". I'm still trying to void out Newell but

having a hard time.

It DOES say a park is the spot.... it is in a park for sure! :)

But I'm still leaning towards NP - to much fits there.

I went there, No numbers on doors. No 9, 5 or 4. There's a tiny scoreboard, but that's about it.

HAS ANYONE SEEN THE "MATTHEW 5:9?"

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:39 PM Permalink

LadyC: There is one sliding hill over by the McKnight side of the park by the hill the water tower is on.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:39 PM Permalink
LadyC

Golden Boy, true. but a book of knowledge is not necessarily a dictionary. Tome= reference work; dictionary; enclcopedia; novel; textbook.

Klinger Man

All you people need to get a life..... Its' at Conway - which I am quite SURE of....

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:41 PM Permalink
LadyC

Cougar, hmmm...I must have missed the hill last night.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:41 PM Permalink
Cougar

LadyC: It is not very steep, and not very used, but are a few sliding marks. It is in the area with paths between the rec and library to the east.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:43 PM Permalink
Golden Boy

Lady C - then why would they use "Tome" - what's your theory.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:43 PM Permalink
Johnny

Klinger, If it's at Conway,(Which I think is WRONG)it will be found today. The park is pretty small and there were easily 75 people there at 10:00 A.M.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:43 PM Permalink
Dave

Well if I was So sure of any park, I wouldn't be at home typing and thinking, So what the hell are you doing here KlingerMan? When I know which park it's in I'm

there 24-7, whether i have to drive, take a bus, take a cab, hitch a ride, or walk.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 1:45 PM Permalink

OK SERIOUSLY? THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST WEIRDEST HINTS EVER. USUALLY BY NOW IT WOULD BE DOWN TO JUST 2 OR 3

PARKS BUT IT SEEMS THAT EVERYBODY IS GOING EVERYWHERE TO LIKE 15 DIFFERENT PARKS ESPECIALLY THE REALLY REALLY

SMALL ONES LIKE LINWOOD OR HILLCREST, AND CONWAY.

Dave - you're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. None of this chatter matters unless you are willing to GET OUT THERE AND DIG. I'm heading out to NP and MP in

about 15-minutes. Need to get some fresh air.
