It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Earlier today we were checking around some of the rink area...that area is far from being dug up totally...even with all the people converging on the spot at 11:30. I
don't believe it's right there anyways. The clues give you spots to keep in view or to know they exist even if you stay away from them..like the sledding hill. the side
of the park that the rinks are on, everything else is in view. The peak, the scoreboard, the fields, Ruth St., the water tower and the 3M sign.
Many people who first headed to that area...kind of backed off and resumed digging in the fields. There is nothing else in that park that could be frozen places or
On the other hand, in a park, how many places are there where you can assign a number to the size and compare? You can't exactly say this hill is the same size as
that hill, or this flat area is equal in size to that flat area.
Hi Deb! Green was out at the park when we left. Maybe she's home by now and sleeping...but I don't know. I have to do that now. I need to be up at 6:30!
What do you mean by "risk" Battle Creek? Its been there before, just a few years ago. I don't think it is there though because it doesn't fit all the clues, especially
Last year's Clue #11 said to look for a sugary loaf and a yellow stone. Of course they didn't mean literally. It was a reference to Winona and Wyoming. Perhaps this
clue is also a reference to something, and not lieterally two frozen places in the park.
I don't think it is under the ice because 1) it would be a little hard to get to 2) it would mean chopping up an ice rink that is used daily 3) I think someone would have
seen it by now and 4) if it is in something round, I don't think it would fit under the ice without sticking through.
Actually, I think it was someone else who said Clue #3 originally said SOMETIME on the net before being coreected to SOMEWHERE. I'm not sure about that
though. I think I was on that night and I don't recall that.
Well I just got home from Conway. It looks like its been carpet bombed. If the planes are not the ice rinks then these clues are very misleading or whoever wrote
them cannot tell large from small. It's hard to imagine it's not there but where else has all the clues? Got any Ideas?
Yes Howdy. It has been reported by more than one source that the actual paper says frozed PLACES not PLANES. So now we're trying to figure out what that
I, too, am shure ittiz in a chunk. And that means when they tell us [to pace it off] tonite, ittiz not gonna bee there and all hunks/chunks/lumps in a radius around said
paced off spot will gotta be de-hunked/chunked/lumped.
Gotta go. Meeting #1 for the day is beckoning. I wonder how anyone gets any work done around here, meeting...meeting...meeting.
Seeker, remember the sliding hill on the east side. STAY AWAY FROM IT. The west side is out as far as I can tell. The rest is up in there air. I still think I know
exact location, and I can tell you the majority of the people are in the wrong area (which is fine with me). I'll logon now and again today if you want to discuss
Which park is everyone at?
DO U THINK THEY WOULD RISK PUTTING IT IN BATTLE CREEK YOU CAN SEE 3M THE WATERTOWER AND SUNRAYS PEAKS FROM
THERE!
You caught me...UGH!

Goodnight X2.

TERRY
Just got home from work, but couldn't resist checking in to see what was going on AND to say HI to you, GREEN must be sleeping?
Treasureman: How would you explain clue 10 then(if BC)?
Hi Deb! Green was out at the park when we left. Maybe she's home by now and sleeping...but I don't know. I have to do that now. I need to be up at 6:30!
Night!
What do you mean by "risk" Battle Creek? Its been there before, just a few years ago. I don't think it is there though because it doesn't fit all the clues, especially
#10.
I THINK THAT IT IS IN THE ICE AS A MATTER OF A FACT I KNOW THAT IT IS THERES NO WHERE ELSE TO LOOK THATS THE ONLY
PLACE WHERE NO ONE HAS REALLY DUG IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT I WONDER IF SOME ONE HAS IT AND NOT TELLING WHY HAVENT
THEY UPDATED THE TIME IT WAS LAST SEEN BET IT AINT THERE ANY MORE SOME ONE HAS IT AND THE PIONEER PRESS IS NOT SURE
WHO IT IS
SHAUNTELL

I CANNOT......I THINK ITS AT CONWAY BUT IT IS SO TORN UP! JUST TRYING TO KEEP MY MIND OPEN JUST IN CASE THEY ARE
PULLING A FAST ONE ON US.....THEY COULD PULL ONE OUT OF THEIR SLEVE TOMORROW EVENING (MEANING THEY SAY LIKE GO
TO BC OR SOME OTHER PARK IN THE AREA) AND THERE WILL BE A MAD RUSH FOR A DIFFRENT AREA? JUST A THOUGHT!
Allison, "planes" refers to equal areas of the same dimesions. search in the middle of these areas. Where they are is a mystery
Allison: Its' been nice chattin! Maybe i'll see you at Conway tomorrow. Good Luck!!!
I don't think it is under the ice because 1) it would be a little hard to get to 2) it would mean chopping up an ice rink that is used daily 3) I think someone would have

I say risk because people might not know the area real well and dig in the maplewood side...you can see everything VERY clear from there!
No the number clue said sometimes 4 then was changed to somewhere a 4...i have it in black and white.....on paper...printed from my printer!
Well, lettuce come from this angle. What all *is* frozen out there?
Pretty much all of the snow! LOL
Actually, I think it was someone else who said Clue #3 originally said SOMETIME on the net before being coreected to SOMEWHERE. I'm not sure about that
though. I think I was on that night and I don't recall that.
I've never seen it as "sometimes" - only "somewhere." And I *know* I was on that nite! LOL!!!
Weird, Man.
It is here on paper..the pp sure has a lot to explain!
Snow is frozen, ground is frozen, drainpipes, ice rinks, treasure hunters, trees & plants maybe (I can't remember either if they actually freeze).
Frozen: water, ground.... What else?
Well I just got home from Conway. It looks like its been carpet bombed. If the planes are not the ice rinks then these clues are very misleading or whoever wrote
them cannot tell large from small. It's hard to imagine it's not there but where else has all the clues? Got any Ideas?
Or then again, maybe it is a reference to something more famous whose name would have some meaning.
Howdy, Howdy!
We're noodling that now. Have been for the last hour. Read up about 100 posts.
Yes Howdy. It has been reported by more than one source that the actual paper says frozed PLACES not PLANES. So now we're trying to figure out what that
means.
hrmmm anyone left here or did you all run out to get into the fray yet again?
So Gina is there a Perry Park
They must have shrunk the medallion this year, and it's now the size of a quarter.
Good night, all. I've got less than two hours to sleep before I have to bring my daughter to school. Good luck at the park.
LMAO.....I know.it is pretty dug up out there isnt it!!!:)...a task for the die hard i guess.:)
I, too, am shure ittiz in a chunk. And that means when they tell us [to pace it off] tonite, ittiz not gonna bee there and all hunks/chunks/lumps in a radius around said

Ish.
Darn those amatuer hunters..:)
planet now says places
ok

further.
Someone please share their interp of todays clue? Thanks
Donut Man: I don't have any ideas about today's clue. But I don't think it's another reference to the 'peaks'.
Cathy, if you're out there call me. I have no clue where to go anymore.
Good Morning all! *yawns* I'm glad I didn't go out last night....looks like it hasn't been found!
What does seeing a thing twice refer to. And what are two frozen places of equal size
good morning anybodody have any luck
I just signed on - what happened last night with the police and someone's car?
So do we figure that the reason PP mentions "figure" twice is that it is near the figure skating rink that is by the 2 hockey rinks?
Am I way out in left field?
has anyone thought about what I said - 2 medallions?
I thought that when they hid 2 in "53 that it was because the first medallion was found so quickly.
Yes, I think it is a possiblility. I thought that too--way back somewhere around "full" clue.
it doesn't say that's why when you read about the hunt of 1953
But how would you know which clues go for which parks? Does anyone know if it's now also-- "sometimes a 4" not "somewhere"? (Amature Hour at PP!)
