Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

2 frozen planes sounds like 2 ice hockey rinks...but there is only one at Conway isn't there?

I told you guys last night that it was in the ice!! Look under the word country on the main rink and you will see!! I have bad back and can not dig. But hope that

deserving persons will win the jig!!!

MushieW...I don't know. are you going digging? 2 frozen plates? Maybe it's between 2 frozen HOME plates

you guys Conway is pretty damn big...normally in past years if they tell you your supposed to see something your supposed to see it from the spot where the

medallion is ..well you can see all the things they tell you to see from practically everywhere in the park .. im thinking its in the east part of the park because of the

Orient clue

between two planes - try between two bases--they're frozen by now

rak-a-frackin-serf-ta-braken! I hate this server! Actually it's not the server. It's all the peaople who have taken the liberty to abuse the hell out of this forum to

mumble away aimlessly while the true cooler heads are out bustin' up the ice to retrieve the puck. (not the Ice rinks - don't take that the wrong way! DON'T run out

and start choppin' at the ice rinks because of the last clue!

I hope some hard core treasure hunter finds the medalion. Someone whos hands are raw from all the digging. Someone who is sleep deprive from staying up late

solving the clues or getting them late at night. Someone who has read all 18,000 messages. Someone who is poor and will give 1/10th to charity. Congratulations you

deserve the prize. ps: Get a life. Second thought, this describes me.

A frozen geometric plane = 2 dimensional flat plane. Hockey rinks.

I've been digging at Conway with a plastic shovel. A stick of dynamite would work better. The snow is packed down & iced over, all over the park.

Hi there, well since I'm about 45 min from conway, 1 hr after I get dressed, I don't see much use in wasting my time out there since everyone is obviously there.

About the hockey rinks- they aren't equal size, one is bigger than the other. ANd i sure hope people don't tear up the poor hockey rinks. Bad Form! For some

reason I think it will still be out there tommorrow , , ,

I'm an old lady with lots of responsibilities. That clue didn't do a thing for me so I'm going to bed. Maybe I'll see you guys at Conway tomorrow. Happy digging.

Just got back from hunting - there is no way it can Conway no where on that piece of land is there a sign that says Conway Park - It's a rec center - and the PP

specifically said it is in a PARK!

it's got to be between the "skating" rink and the broomball sheet...

hunt-n-peck.... two planes of ice are two hockey rinks....must be near them for sure!!

I don't think it narrows the area down enough, you're right, it'll be there tomorrow

m.s. i think your right, i was there and they are two different sizes.

MushieW, I thought there was only one rink. There was also another piece of ice but the are not of equal size. I'm confuZZZZZZZZZZed.

freshman...not two frozen plates...it's two frozen planes...Hockey rinks? Isn't interesting they spelled it "planes" and not "plains"?

Tue, 02/02/1999 - 11:34 PM Permalink
MedallionStallion

I have a weird feeling about this. The frozen planes? NOT a refference to bases, possibly two fields of same size, maybe the hockey rinks- but they're not the same

size AT ALL if I remember right. . .

Tue, 02/02/1999 - 11:34 PM Permalink

Leah, someone proved earlier tonight that Conway is listed as a park.

Tue, 02/02/1999 - 11:34 PM Permalink
Wily Hunter

If you stand on a hill by the playground, you can see the True Value Hardware sign, 3M sign, water tower, and one of the 2 translucent peaks of Sun Ray Shopping

Center over a low spot in the library roof. Can't dig there, though, the snow & ice are packed too hard.

Tue, 02/02/1999 - 11:34 PM Permalink

ok rock...is it a large area between the 2 rinks?

Tue, 02/02/1999 - 11:34 PM Permalink

Rock--I don't know if you answered my last ? since the server was at Web crossing, but are you joining the Conway crew?

Whoever was at Conway tonight . . .

What was it like? Was it as crazy as Cherokee last year on the second-to-last clue?

Someone describe the park for me, please.

I'm in another state! I can't hunt! I've been hunting religiously since Hidden Falls, '93!

Anyone who's recently been to Conway, are the tennis courts dug up? Because seeing things twice could be considered seeing double, doubles tennis, a tennis court

has two planes of equal size. Just a thought.

Tue, 02/02/1999 - 11:35 PM Permalink

Look at the clues. Each one points at an aspect of the park that just helps to identify it as Conway. It is probably nowhere near the rinks. I think "they" are going to

wait until tomorrow's clue and make it a mad, rough-and-tumble dash to see who can get to it first.

Word of advice to those running out the door, We were diggin' for 5 hours tonight and there's alot of busted up ice chunks throughout the park. BREAK UP THE

SNOW AND ICE SO IT'S SMALLER THAN THE MEDALLION! (duh) I could'nt believe the people were turning over huge chunks of snow without busting it

up! oh yeah, STAY OFF THE RINKS! They would never put it under an ice rink to have it completely ripped up! Big mistake.

There are 3 sheets of ice-2 with boards. I'm sure they would not give away the exact location before the last clue-everyone keep looking

KATE- nice observation, what can it mean?

well it depends what two areas your talking about. im thinking its the ice between the two rinks. im going there right now. later you all.

If anyone was at the park this morning about 7:30 you saw that Park and Rec were recovering the ice after it was ripped apart last night. Don't trash the ice. It's not

there.

Leah , There is a sign. It's on the North West corner of the park behind fiels #4's backstop.

steve- Even Conway workers said that I used to be Conway Heights until about 5 yrs ago- every sign at Conway says rec center not one thing about PARK! Also

in every phone listing for Conway, state , county, and city is it listed as a Park only rec center- I did my studying also!!
