There is an opening below if your at the top of the hill at the west grounds and you look down there is no trees or tables or grills. I was digging there the other night.

green- Iwas so mad at my husband he never got home until 12 that's why I didn't show up

The opening below is the 'arch' where Beulah ran under the trolly tracks. The span o'the tracks is missing, so the arch has no top, but that's the "opening below."

Ittiz at a lower level than where the bathrooms/shelter/playground is.

Funny story to brighten the day - regarding medallion hunting -

This morning about 2:00 AM or so I was down digging near the lake and I saw about 5 teenagers out digging as well. They were just trying a few shovels here and a few shovels there. Really not sure where the clues were heading. No different than the rest of us. The funniest thing happened when one of them ran over to a tree, climb it and dug in and old bird's nest.(needless to say they didn't agree with the clue that said it was buried in snow) I restrained myself from laughing out loud, but it was so funny that it will be a memory I will carry with me to the next medallion hunts.

Hilarious....just the thought of it makes me laugh again. LOL

I really doubt she'd go right away to PP. We stated we'd go home, clean up, take pictures, let the kids see it. We wouldn't turn it in until 4 PM or so. Yes, I'm back for a quick note.

I've been here since the beginning of the message board and I hope I'd be considered trusty worthy. I met several of you yesterday. Was great to meet the actual person, although I never said my real name just Treasure Digger. That's kinda funny. They wouldn't have anything here for a while since that would need to be typed etc.

Good Morning!

Bummer that this is - if it is - over. I too trust Ian...just need to hear it from the horses mouth I guess.

I want to hear the explanation for the man of mettle clue!

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:13 AM Permalink
Treasure Digger

Man of mettle - Winston Churchill.

that's ok, digger, i'm pretty sure i didn't use my name yesterday, either. like its a big secret here or anything, but...

Treasure Digger

I want to say it was in a speech of his and he was considered and strong, courageous person.

Somebody said that it was in a sock with the name brand Iron something or other inside a dove soap box. That could explain mettle (metal). It was from the same clue as the dove box...

DerickDavis

Treasure Digger, were not questioning your reliability, just the idiots who constantly scream they found it.

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:15 AM Permalink
DerickDavis

mettle has nothing to do with iron, it stands for courage

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:15 AM Permalink
Terry

Churchill was my take on that clue - but then why was it way up in the picnic area?

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:16 AM Permalink
Lisa O'Connell

It was in a iron brand sock (whatever that is) so I think the mettle thing comes into to play there possibly.

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:16 AM Permalink
DerickDavis

anyone call the hotline yet?

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:17 AM Permalink

Treasure, I can guarantee you... You take that long to turn in The Med, you'd loose your bucks.

Mom Press might - MIGHT - give you an hour, maybe two, but that's it. They don't want The Med duplicated.

The Med is to be turned in immediately.

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:17 AM Permalink
DerickDavis

Deal? I'm just saying wait until you hear it from the horses mouth, that's all

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:18 AM Permalink
Treasure Digger

DD, THANKS, I said the say thing about people yelling. It could be for 100 reasons why they'd be yelling. After all, it is exciting to e there and having fun. But there are those that travel by the digging site and scream it's been found. It's definitely those people I don't trust. I was on line when the 8th clue was expected and Brandon wrote his own and had us all confused. I've missed the rehash bash for the last 4 years and I hope I don't have anything for Sunday

Mon, 01/29/2001 - 10:18 AM Permalink
Lisa O'Connell

They could have spelled mettle like that just to throw you off, we'll soon find out when they define the clues, which I cannot wait for that since all the clues were so vague.
