someone who had the last spot in the registration queue his freshman year, and took an upper-division class (i had the lower division calc done in high school) because he knew there'd be an opening. after that, the math minor was only 8 more credits away.

believe it or not, some people actually major in math. i know a few of them myself. interesting people.

Has anybody thought that circular thinking, could possibly refer to a newspaper or a news vending machine or even the PP itself?

Ok, I'm awake. Wasn't feeling well today, plus had some stuff to get done around here, so I stayed home from work (there was nothing going on there anyway).

Here's my thinking-linking theory:

There are two sets of clues. One goes to Twin Cities.com to get posted and one stays at PP to get typeset. They are both the same. TwinCites.com posted what they had. The typesetter at PP made a typo and put in thinking twice. The person at Pionerplanet does not have their own set of clues, they are simply directed to type in what appears in the paper since they have at least an hour between when the paper comes out and when it has to appear online. So they end up repeating the mistake. Then someone calls TwinCities.com today and asks about the difference, and the person there assumes the paper must be right so they change theirs too. And yet, all the while linking is the correct word. So I'm going to still consider the clue to say linking. After the places/planes typo two years ago, I'm not assuming infallability.

Allison - Morning to you. - Eclipse - I like your take on circular. New to me but I haven't slogged that much yet. Post 12321 has info from last night for those not wanting to repeat anything

golf courses statues on toes ad infinitum st. paul thinking or linking? are we supposed to figure out which clue is right? haha

its a foot away from a statue in a snow bank in a st.paul park that is near a golf course with a dead end.

Hello Everyone:

As usual I am behind, ClueMaster, I took a look at 12321, Thanks. Just a thought perhaps the sacred medallion is in a hockey puck for the MN Wild. (Circular thinking) and I think that is all this clue has to offer us. Anyone with thoughts on the park, I am still going to case Newell again. A renovated library, 2 skating rinks, the ball parks, maybe something lies hidden here. Is there any closure on the think or link issue?

I agree I think linking was the intended word

Circular thinking.....

could this mean one of the other clues is misleading?

or do we need to solve an anagram using words from the edges of the clues such as circular, one, if, clue

or is it a circular object by the park like a water tower or fire ring

What do you think

"I second that. It saved me a lot of useless driving around."

--- I think his book has actually caused me MORE useless driving around. Our little group has alot of fun looking through the book and trying to make clues fit. Then we go check out places we never would have known about otherwise.

I am still stuck on Good Luck FatG City

FatG could obviously be something else - or could take more that just the first letters of the lines of the second clue.

I am also going with Allison with regards to linking. I think it is linking. The clue does not make sense otherwise.

Well that's true, but I tend to think of it as reconnaissance.

I work at a Bank now, so I hope that the 3rd clue is an indication that the treasure is outside by my car.

Hi guide, thanks your book is great.

I was out diggen again the morning only saw one other digger and that was at Phalen. Most of the other parks are virgin

I was thinking if they hide the med within the past month there should be footprints. what do you think of looking by suspecious footprints

Just a note for everyone from a question asked earlier, the clues can be clipped from the paper, handwritten, or printed off the web and still count as submitting the clues with the medallion for the $2500 it is stated on the rules page

Will someone please explain the problem with the clue in the paper -vs- the one posted online. I'm confused and don't have time to go through all the posts.

Thanks!

the TC.com website had the last word of the first line of clue three as "linking" the PP, and the paper had it as "thinking" there are clear repricussions associated with each.

New Daddy..Ian...etal..I suggest taking a video camera with on these recon missions. Video some parks to get an idea if someone's walked around a few weeks ago. If its the correct park, at least you'll know where the virgin snow truely was.

Later all...back to the office.

Apparently later on some hunters called tc.com and asked them about it, and they changed theirs' to "thinking" as well, but no one knows for sure which one it should be, kinda like the whole is it "infinitum" or "ad infinitum"

Have fun at McGovern's tonight everyone. I have to teach, so I probably won't get there.

There are lots of clues that point to Como but I think we would know for sure by now because the park is so big.

I like the idea of capitol mall or somewhere downtown, but am leaning toward a Rec Center - maybe Linwood or Palace.
