Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Whats the supply of Treasure hunter guides like? I've been meaning to pick one up every year. Does anyone know if the stores are fully stocked? or just a few on hand?
People like Hidden falls because before the hunt history would tell us that it is due and should be there...that is all. So far the clues don't necessarily point to HF, but then again they might if interpreted differently. Personally, it is still one of my top 6, but doesn't seem likely right now.
I just read an old post of Green's..she could be right on the money with Battle Creek hosting the Ski event. I'm with her that it's out of the running.
That would be a good clue if it were hidden at Harriet Island near the river-which it is not.
It's not much of a trip-but there's a short excursion on the Harriet Bishop in the summer. The point on the river where it turns around might not be far from Crosby Park.
Hillcrest is popular because people are in denial or have easy access to it. Wishful thinking, but too small to have a hunt last 10 days with no snow to hide it.
so far what are peoples top 5? I haven't done any scoping so tonight I am going out. I think Battle Creek, Palace, AA, Hidden Falls, but not necessarely in that order. I'm just going to be driving tonight maybe dig tomorrow.....There is another one off from Rice street that I want to check out I need to check the map again for the name.
I'm outta here til tonight. Just in case anyone is feeling extremely generous, email me with any extremely insightful insites into the clues, if you have any. My mind's a dessert at the moment.
Marley, Great site. I checked out your pics from AA. (1) I can't see any wooded areas, and (2) there's a sign saying stay off the turf. I do not get a warm, fuzzy feeling about AA.
Clue #1---St. Paul Park Clue #2--- Up and down-Upper and Lower Afton TREK- Mountain bike Reference( Battle Creek?) Clue #3--- ??? Tide- Water? Time? High tide 2x daily Low tide 2x daily- Plus twenty four hours. Could bring you to the #28 but that is a stretch.
You know what, i was just thinking these clues fit for como. I am in denial, but the slide (ice slide), there is a school nearby there are large hills. Wouldn't that be a way to throw people off.
No, Conway and Newell are small, but if you remember those hunts there was quite a bit of snow to cover the medallion. This year, they must have banked on there being little or no snow and hit it in a larger park, i think anyway.
actually @ AA the park downhill on every side & the woods are on top of the biggest hill. last year somebody plowed the field & set up nets to play soccer. there is also a dog park there
Just a thought....someone said that a TIDE box would be to big........but not if it were one that came from a laundromat!!!......they have those little boxes of soap that they sell in a machine.......hummmmm

SNG: Conway was just that park and the local residents didn't like it but it is a public ground.
can you download or view online the treasure hunters guide?

SNG: the site is designed with use of the guide. Numbers in the book are referenced on the site for pictures.
arl/ark, merrium,hillcrest
Far and away -I think it might be in a park away from prior hunts
I think it will be by the river or mississippi st due to #1 harriet island exclusion, & a time to kill by grishm set in mississippi
all parks have HIGH areas - high tide/high time
all have sleding hills away from woods just trees at hillcrest tho
LL,
A bunch of my people think Hilcrest as well. Why is this so popular?
to " trip over" is to fall as in falls!!
Hello, Does anyone know hoe to confirm your membership to the water cooler?????
I just read an old post of Green's..she could be right on the money with Battle Creek hosting the Ski event. I'm with her that it's out of the running.
I followed the link and it just brought me back to the board
"far and wide" is an anagram for "a wad finder"
Ruminator Books on Grand Ave. By Macalaster College has approx 62 on hand right now. Call the store @ 651.699.0587 for more info!
Hmm...what would a wad finder look like? Now we've got two things to look for...hehehe
Diggergirl, check your email. A message would have been sent from PP to confirm your e-mail account.
Also, look for the guide at: www.medallionhunt.com
you just did, diggergirl.

If you can post here, that means you are registered. If not, you could only read the posts.
a wad finder. a wad of diapers? a wad of money?
why would they not have called battle creek out early as they did with HI rice and mears??
Off and running for now. Good luck with noodling.

Is Hidden Falls the same park that J. Sanford wrote about in "Rules of Prey"?
You have to put Highland in the top 5, and i would throw out palace and AA. Too small, no snow = short hunt = no $$$$$ for PP selling papers.
See ya all later, probably this evening!
Phalen!
People were asking about that sign at AA lastnight, there is a wooded area there.
SNG I beleive so.
Mke W are you saying that you think that Conway and Newell are big parks?
phalen is a thought not a lot of hills though

leah, expecting a baby in 10 days is not a valid excuse. just ask scribe!
my top 5 are mounds, hidden falls, highland, battle creek, and phalen. does that seem ok so far?
I was thinking Phalen at first too, but like you said, not a lot of hills, kind of rules that out for me.
Fool, I agree with you, except for Phalen. Why Phalen?

I know Ares- I was in labor with my daughter in 96' and dug until my water broke- I'll be out there this year- I just hope I don't have her early
where is palace? i see a couple of you keep mentioning that.
Fool, I am with you, and Cherokee too on that list.
was out there in '99 a week overdue & still digging
think phalen because it is a big park and it has only been there twice and the last time was a long time ago
I like the Tide laundry soap Idea.
