2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Well, i wish i knew!! Hahahaha, i looked tonight without a flashlight. I really love it when you go to a park (i'm new at this, so maybe its the way its done) and then you see people wandering around, kicking the snow, digging holes...and you say "hey, how's the search" and they deny looking for the medallion! Well what the heck else would they be doing?? I thought that was kind of rude, I thought it would be a fun social experience :( Other people were very nice...but those ones!! Sheesh??! Anyone had similar experiences?

New Daddy- Checked out Merriam and Mounds today. I liked Merriam the best of the two because you could see the Capital 2-way radio antenna down on the ballfields away from the wooded area of the park. Don't know if I was totally convinced yet.

destiny's hunt

what about TIME meaning that like from mounds park, time is passing infront of you?? The cars are passing down below, life is moving onward? Time is passing....does that make sense? Or pass the time...water, slides, playground, scenic overlook...

Trip over the goods...mmm...wonder what that means...

Thanks Alan

Though folks do tend to dig in their "teams", I find that most hunters are quite friendly - and certainly if you're talking with one of the crew.

I can't imagine it being in a park where we can't hunt all night long.

Wed, 01/23/2002 - 10:48 PM Permalink

So what do you guys do?? Do you take shovels out there and scoop around in the snow?? Randomly? Out in the middle of patches, or generally near trees and such? I'm not sure how to do this, I don't wanna look like too much of a dork!!

All except for the year at Conway, St. Paul's finest tend to look the other way during the hunt - especially when it gets to be later on and there are more people actually hunting in one particular park.
