Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
ares
you were down at the press, amanda? which one were you?
not from me, ian. that was a blanket warning to anyone who may have added me to their address book to check their systems cuz they're who's spreading it. any mail sent from me ends up coming from my visi.com address. most of what's come in, including this virus, have initially come in through the vanity address.
Ares - I can really sympathise w/ U. Had a couple of viruses in the past year. Hadn't e-mailed anyone for a long time after each one. Since the 1st one, I took everyone out of my address book, so if I ever get another virus it won't be sent to everyone. Good Luck.
annie, i get these things all the time at work. once it gets in the email system it spreads like wild fire. so i'm actually used to them. i didn't actually open it so i'm not infected. my virus scanner just picked it up as it arrived.
One that has a space devoid of trees that is at the bottom of a hill
One from which you can see a broadcast tower
One which has a parking lot and playground.
That's taking the most conservative interpretation of the clues and even at that there can't be more than two or three parks that meet all those criteria? Though I suppose it would help to have a list of those that do.
Battle Creek might work, Zone 1 the Guide, but I'm not sure if you can see any broadcast towers from there. I din't recall being able to see any from Conway, and that's not too far from there.
honestly, earn, i'm not sure what i'm thinking about much of anything. tonites clue definitely pulled me away from any of the larger parks and put me at a rec centre.
hmm. park and rec. hmm. phalen is a park. phalen is also a rec. (incidentally due to the construction there, phalen's rec is off limtis imho), matching the park and rec in tonites clue. which other parks also share a name with a nearby rec centre?
I just think that "lots of space" is an obvious clue that it is at a big park.
A park with a rec center...lots of parking too...otherwise why on earth would they reference parking in a clue??? it's going to be somewhere with a nice big playground...
Hello Hello Medallion Hunters. Greetings from sunny California. I can't join you out in the snow this year, but will try to do my best at busting out the meaning of these clues from a different corner of this country . . .
you were down at the press, amanda? which one were you?
Leela- we drove by Merriam also, is definately big enough, but...
Ian, I got your e-mail.
cream sweater, green fatigue pants with the really tall guy. had a backpack on.
Ares, I am headed to bed. Scribe and I are digging at 9am tomorrow at Merriam. MK - why do you think it isn't at Merriam?
had a back pack on that should read.

ares thanks for the warm welcome and good nite hope to see you here again tomorrow same time
OK, Annie...worked for me M M
Allison, where did you find that about Merriam?
Whoa, what's up with this years cluewriter?
Allison- we checked it out, the actual park sign says "Merriam Park" "St Paul Parks and Recreation Div"
earn, i'm pretty much a fixture in here. if i'm not out and about, i'm here reading and posting.
MK - did you happen to notice if there was a sign on the other side by the parking lot?
Leela, don't think its not there, just not sure.
yawnnnnn,,,,ok i'm outta here,,,,,good luck 2 all!!!! c ya in da snow!
just clarifying Ares, thanks
yeah, that is where I am at - it is the park that fits the clues the best to me - but I am still not convinced.

So, the consensus is a small park that hasn't been used for awhile, correct?
I found it at http://www.friendsoftheparks.org/cgi-bin/search.cgi
So Amanda, I'm guessing you have green eyes? ;-)
Night everyone
SCD's
I will probably see many of you tomorrow or tomorrow night at the Press.
Amanda, I remember seeing you down there tonight.
Yep, thats the sign that says "Merriam Park"
How has everyone been doing as well? Just in general.
annie, i get these things all the time at work. once it gets in the email system it spreads like wild fire. so i'm actually used to them. i didn't actually open it so i'm not infected. my virus scanner just picked it up as it arrived.

well thank you, kids, for pointing out another coolerhead, even if she's new, to me! some people.
it's not at a small park....
what's making you say that, step?
Yeah, Step elaborate
So we're looking for a St. Paul park.
One that has hills
One that has a space devoid of trees that is at the bottom of a hill
One from which you can see a broadcast tower
One which has a parking lot and playground.

checked merrriam with my dog today looked around for an hour or so he came up with a couple pop cans bottle caps but no medallion
ares what did you think about my sugestion on bc?
and on-street parking as well, allison.
Wow!! Allison - you're REALLY taking the conservative approach this year, huh?
Ares, she is new to me too. I just remember seeing her and her tall friend.
with respect to spark/flash of light/holman's landing lites (or the inner marker beacon at im), earn?
ares yep you are on the same thinking track as me
Nite all. SCD's. Will check back tomorrow...
Well even being that conservative seems to narrow it down pretty well. I really have a hard time fitting anything other than Merriam to all of those.
well iam off to bed good luck to anybody going out tonite. i'll be here again tomorrow nite by 11:30 thanks for chatting all

Just my opinion...

ARES - I am sooooo for phalen.
phalen is soooooo convenient for me. it was also dead when i did a drive-through at lunch.
Belvedere could be a possibility actually...
Phalen....just built a brand new playground at the rec center.
it's still in progress, step.
