2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

A little help from all please...name the rec centers w/o parking lots or w/o off street parking

well, td, the theory would work (there are public areas of the fairgrounds, but i'll not argue that point here), except that the fairgrounds are actually in falcon heights.

Well, they were able to make the clues fit to the fairgrounds, but I definitely don't think it would be there. It was only there once in 1960s and 1950s. Just wanted another opinion.

Janis - good thinking, they have had luck at Como lakelt, doesn't cause to much problems for the city..... I like to dig that park but the other clues don't steer me there...never know

I was looking at last year's clues, and the clue that really confirmed Como i(cocoa-mocha) wasn't given until clue #8. So, if they are holding true to form and trying to make the hunt last, I think our chain is going to get yanked a couple more times b4 they give a clear indicator of a park.

SSSSSSOOOOO many Coolerheads turned up at MomPress last nite! Got to meet some new folks - Randy Rust, EagleStar (not quite shure about that), Chris Digger; saw Air-eez again... Hope more 'Heads turn up tonite! We all fun yapping.

I want my Shaggy to turn up tonite! Guy, you crack me up!!!

Welcome to ALL THE NEW FOLKS!!!! Glad you found us - think you'll have a great time here.

Folks, things are starting to heat up... Lettuce keep as much to topic as possible. For those of us that slog, reading non-topic posts cause us to gnash and grind our teeth and get grumpy. :(

Why's not anyone thinking Como? So many doubles, and the clues fit...

You know Como is both a park and a rec center, don'tcha?

Okay guys... this is my first year really trying to go somewhere with this... believe that some people thought that it would be a smaller park, what do you think about Burns Ave Park?

doesn't como also have a slide?

Thu, 01/24/2002 - 9:01 AM Permalink

Green, I think most people do not want it to be Como -- it's a psychological thing.

this may be streching it but a deceased man by the name of Jim Austin ggrew up in Owatonna MN. He moved to Colorado to teach a tiny tots team called the "Park N Rec" later he also taught a team called the little indians. Could this indicate a jockey ring or do you think this is pushing it?

Cooler Crew members/'Heads do not necessarily wear white on their sleeves.

I sometimes have no white on at all.

To find a fellow 'Head, just ask someone, "You Dig?" If you get a "You Dig!" or a "I dig!" in return, you've found a head.

MY list is 1-Como 2-Como 3-Mounds 4-Cherokee

Thu, 01/24/2002 - 9:03 AM Permalink
Treasure Digger

Sorry, Green. I only knew about the white on the sleeve. Haven't made it to any parties so I didn't know to share "I dig". Well remember that when I out digging. Thanks.

Mounds and Cherokee I don't know to much about so I have not ruled them out unless the crew feels that nothing fits those areas

Roger, look for us. The Cooler Crew is not a quiet bunch... You can't miss us. And I'll be in green! :D

Air-eez (why would anybuddy NOT pronounce it that way?), besides that certain field, there's the NORTH COMO REC center...

Thu, 01/24/2002 - 9:06 AM Permalink

sure you did, randy. i was there with leela and scribe. unless you're not talking about being down at the pp.

I've only been able to find three (3) parks that are both a certified park and a certified rec center (and I'm certifiable!):

Merriam

Como

Langford.

Air-eez, lettuce not wear blinders, my friend. Damn near every friggin' clue is double!!!!!!
