clue#6 Of course we all know there's not too much snow To cover the place where it's lying But do not dismay, we'll find a way To stick it where the sun ain't shining
Ok in and out no time to slog here are my thoughts!!!!
"KISS" clue#1--It's attached in a "puck", or its in a park, or both
clue#2--A clear view of the Capiotol dome (the dome not the whole Capitol?), The treasure is nearby!!, or you can see the right park from the park your in (hence Cherokee to Harriet)
clue#3--A shelter in the park ,Fire ring in the park. Wide as triple E?? nada nothing zip!
clue#4--Again "finding the puck" Its attached to a puck! "Red white and blue"==A bewildered hunt
clue#5--2 or 3 1953,St. Paul,Cherokee
clue#6--Its on the ground, covered, its stuck to a puck
So now on to my gripe of the day....Why the hell do they have to turn the lights off on the capitol after 11? They keep the lights on at the cathedral! How are we supposed to hunt at night if we can't see it? Ok, that's all for now.
hate this last clue soo much.. its the most useless clue ever. all it tells us, its its hidden.. ohhhhhhh, big woopdie doo!!! ive had better clues come out of where MY sun dosnt shine.. stupid clue writer.
They turn those lights off too. Except it there's really no rhyme or reason to it. Just a little later than the Capitol. But they keep the cross on top lit all night so you always know where it's at. Nothing for the Cap tho. It might be like when they then the "1" off when there is fog so the birds don't slam themselves into the 1st bank bldg
I think the cooler crew should have some stickers or something that we can put on picnic tables and other stuff so that we know it's already been looked at. That way we wouldn't have to waste time checkin' the same places over and over.
That way we wouldn't have to waste time checkin' the same places over and over.
There had to be at least 15 of us who looked under the clock before Jake found it during MK/ATH mock hunt last summer. The sticker would of never helped. And you know how stubborn us hunters are anyway. But Marley could sell lots of stickers, so I'll shut up then....
Whew, finally finished getting through the messages. Sounds like no one has a good idea of the park. I'm still convinced it's Kellogg, even if there is nowhere left to look (well actually I do have one idea I'll check out later, but it's kind of crazy).
Just wondering if anyone has thought of checking in trees for it?
I thought of checking by tree bases, stumps and knots but not in the tree itself. What kind of height rule do you think they'd have? We looked up in trees in Cherokee a few months ago for Jakes hunt and thought 5 feet might be safe. But that was just for us CC people.
There's a question for all of us die hards. What is the highest spot the med has ever been off the ground? I can think of the statute at the Capitol grounds, but not sure on some others tho. Ideas?
the sun doesn't shine anywhere you can see something if you shine a light on it.. thinking if it ain't at mcknight (and assuming from the posts from people that have been there it isn't...) it probably means you won't be able to see it without looking under something... dumb clue....
Sometimes, the inside of a tree can degrade a bit around a wound (ie. hole) but the tree is still alive; so if you're looking in a tree, don't scrape too hard at the inside thinking that it's buried in all the brown fibrous stuff...you're just making the wound worse and could kill the tree and we don't want to kill trees cuz that's what makes the parks so pretty!
The more I think about it, the less I think it's at mcknight, as promising as it sounds, you really can't see some of the stuff you should be able to from there, I live around that area... On a wild idea, I might actually try searching the parkway by my place, there's certain areas you can see the st paul skyline, it's near mcknight road (kind of) and if I take a look at it, I might be able to fit in some other clues... plus it wouldn't take hardly any time to search. I know there's a plaque there with some stuff written on it, at least I'll go read it and see what it says
So I want to tell this story. Last night at the paper, after the clue had come out but before the drawing I was standing around talking when this guy came up to me. He said he worked for the paper and he wanted to know if I wanted to read the clue aloud to the crowd. I said sure, figuring he just picked me out of the crowd for some reason. Maybe he liked my hat or something. But then I got to talking to him and I found out it wasn't random at all. He knew exactly who I was. Not only did he know who I was, but he recognized me well enough to pick me out of the crowd even though we had never met before. He said he had seen my picture on the internet. And this guy said he was even new at the paper. They decided to wait until after the drawing to read the clue, and then after the drawing something else came up and it never happened. But still, I find it interesting that the PP staff knows who I am and can recognize me by sight. Does this mean they're watching us closer than we think?
Here's a little bit of that white stuff that you were looking for Trent. Better hurry though. Who knows how long it'll last. It's been a crazy winter ya know.
he recognized me well enough to pick me out of the crowd even though we had never met before
That's cooler AW! Although you're really not the kind of character someone could miss. (I mean that in a good way of course) Just say the word and I can use my big mouth to quite the crowd so you can read the clue. I like that idea. I allows for instant crowd reaction. I'm sure movie boy would like it too. ;-)

Today: Snow flurries or snow showers. High 16F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
what bugs me is they turn off the BIG 1st down town too!!!!
They keep the lights on at the cathedral!

we'll spray paint "kill roy was here" EVERYWHERE... it'll look like a liberated town on france.

not exactly what I had in mind...
ZERO. I was there and it was fresh snow. If you did you'd have it!
Hey, it's snowing out, does this invalidate clue #6? hehehe
welcome aboard coldtoes2,, im off to class.
I have to leave for a lunch date, but I'm goin' out huntin' after. Hope to see some of you out and about....
stick around a while then-tell your friends
sun don't shine under or in a tree. just don't climb or yer wastin' yer time.
thats why I said under or "in" a tree

thats against the law in theese parts! (just kiddin')
If it hasn't been found yet, then I believe this hunt has now managed to last longer than last year's!

mcknight did sound good on paper but...the feilds are all locked up
Called the hotline and it's still not found.

I think you're right. Good timing. Much better clues this year. That is unless we're told that some are of the Merry-um variety

good point!
